Watched the game on tv and thought Lennon looked good again so glad to see him doing well.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - he was good ST and im really happy for the guy after all hes been through mate..

19 Dec 2017 01:34:13
Should get a retrospective ban for his dive though. I see big sam has got you practising the dark arts as well as hoofball. ;)

bitter red if ever i saw one, you have a history built on conning match officils, goes back years.

To be fair jcwblue the internet streams in Norway aren't that good in the winter, so maybe it looked like a dive.

Say what you want about Sam, regardless of the points and the results, he doesn't feed us bull poop which is soooooo refreshing. We were crap first half, the game would have been different if DCL didn't get the rebound, Davies did give us more forward monmentum and Rooney can play for the next few years if he treats his body properly. I'm enjoying Sam.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i cant fault the job hes doing svenny and the results have been great, i just dont want this type of football to be synonymous of everton and hope that we can develop our style to be more entertaining and good to watch mate..

18 Dec 2017 23:04:43
In the 5 games since Sam was announced manager we have picked up 13 points out of a possible 15, the only dropped points at Anfield.
We have scored 11 goals in these games and only conceded 2.
In the previous 5 we conceded 15 and scored 8, and collected 4 points.
The team seems to be settled now also, with the exception of Morgan, the lads seem to know what their duty is on the field.
Tonight was another game, which wasn't free flowing total football, but a job done performance.
If we perform against Chelsea like we did 1st half tonight we could find ourselves with a mountain to climb, and hopefully Morgan doesn't start as again tonight he was woeful and looked off the pace.
I would like to see us start with 2 widemen to press up on the Chelsea wingbacks and stop them from influencing the game. I have faith in the management to have a plan for Saturday as the stats have proven they are getting it right.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - they will have a plan gray...defend and work hard and when you get the ball whack it as hard as you can up the field, thats just the way it is at the moment im afraid, hopefully we will develop a strategy that is more pleasing on the eye but i cant see it being anytime soon mate...im not having a go at sam by the way but until he has the players he needs his priority will be to grind out results..

18 Dec 2017 23:53:15
And grind out results is what we are doing Ed, its not a pretty style to watch but it suits the players and is getting us results.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats very true gray, i just dont want us to be renowned for being tough and hard to beat but entertaining to watch mate..

19 Dec 2017 08:40:42
Ed025: I want us to get a reputation as winners, NOT as 4bottlers-losers.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think there should be a happy medium bobby, chelsea have done it for years mate..

19 Dec 2017 12:07:14
I think we are finally doing things correct by laying a foundation of defending well as a unit and then the natural progression will be to add flair to the mixture.
Lennon plays because he is disciplined and tracks back to offer support for Kenny, Lookman or Vlasic maybe quicker on the ball but lack the discipline to defend when needed. This is something that they will adapt to and when they are ready will be used, once the confidence is back Ed, then the happy medium will be found. This season is a write off and is all about stabilisation and next season we can judge the Allardyce regime from the onset.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Dec 2017 22:46:33
Great result, another team building win, Not a great performance but going in the right direction, we'll done to Allardyce, Lee and Shakespear.

Teachers Report- First half poor, and awful defending by Sideshow Bob for their goal 🙄 Good follow-up on weak penalty to level things up as we deserved very little. Second half better, eventually 😁 so overall a good win. Still plenty of room for improvement though. 6.5/ 10 😂.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - fair assessment there big H..

18 Dec 2017 22:44:56
I have to agree, the game was crying out for pace such as lookman. Would of liked sandro on earlier to build his confidence up and Martina is not a left back, poor lad.
I think the scoreline flattered us massively and Davis looked alittle raggid.
Schniedlin also looks bang average hence taken off, DCL is improving but he would flourish if he had a proper strike partner as his strength is his interplay and cleverness.
Coyb.

Agree2 Disagree2

19 Dec 2017 00:15:51
To be fair to Martina it was his run off the ball, taking the Swansea centre-half with him, that opened up the space for Siggie to shoot for his goal.

Not sure about the critsism of Rooneys first pen it was tipped on to the post otherwise it would have been right in the corner let's give the keeper credit.

18 Dec 2017 21:56:26
Not the best performance but a win is a win and up to 9th now. Sam will probably play for a draw vs Chelsea but every point counts.

No probably about it or target for this season is finish above Burnley and leicester for 7 th.

18 Dec 2017 20:37:20
That goal has been coming it’s like we’ve had a few good results got complacent gone back to the same line up that fails! we are so off the pace and not putting any pressure on!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - its been woeful wakka..

18 Dec 2017 21:08:58
Ed 025 same old line up and absolutely nothing to raise the crowd Goodson is like a library and that’s not what made us fearful place to come to, and they are poor but having a go!

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - the crowd are very quiet wakka...but who can blame them?

18 Dec 2017 21:27:19
True ed025 if he learns something from tonight he doesn’t need Schneiderlin goes off Davies on looks more attacking we score, i’d only keep him as back up for Gueye.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - im with you wakka..

18 Dec 2017 21:57:51
Decent result but it could have been 4or 5 easily, just think we could have introduced Lookman and Sandro earlier for key game time!

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i think so too wakka, im giving sam the benefit of the doubt at the minute due to the position we were in when he came, but i dont want to watch dross like that every game mate..

18 Dec 2017 22:16:11
Before Sam came we were right in the mire, the defence looks a lot more solid, might not be pretty but by Christ Sam is getting the results, I am sure the football will return, but for now cannot knock the results, Take an ugly win over a total football draw any Day of the week.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the results are of course the main thing baz, but it is an entertainment industry mate and can you honestly say that was pleasurable to watch?, i expect a lot better of everton football club and we need to see standards rise imo..

18 Dec 2017 22:28:38
Agree Ed. Sooner or late we need to be able to control games especially at home.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - very much so smit, the school of science really are near the bottom of the ofsted ratings, lets hope things improve footballing wise and we ditch the dogs of war tag for one of easy on the eye attacking play mate..

18 Dec 2017 23:05:43
That was torture to watch, couldn't wait for the final whistle so I could go home. Obviously happy with the result but we need to improve our attacking football massively because tonight and the Newcastle game were hard viewing despite the results.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i totally agree oll..

19 Dec 2017 02:43:32
SIX POINTS, GIVERN WHERE WE WERE, IT'S AMASING. Sopose if we don't beat chelsea on sat, all the sam haters will be out in force, and if we do get something out of the game the complements will come with the now usual caveats. Sorry if it's not pretty enough for some, but if we get anything from the prem champions, I, plus thousands more will be more than happy, even if it does not come with points for styl.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2017 08:40:46
I didn't think we needed 2 holding midfielders against a poor Swansea side bottom of the league at home!
While I understand we are in a confidence rebuilding period these pros should have been right up for this game and a chance to entertain and bang a few goals in!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Dec 2017 14:45:17
The team i'd put out tonight:
Pickford, kenny, Martina, Keane, Holgate, Gueye, Rooney, Sigurdson, vlasic, Lookman, Calvert-Lewin.
Although not too keen on leaving Williams out and also putting Martina in. I think we need more energy, penetration and enthusiasm today and putting lookman and vlasic in may achieve that.

18 Dec 2017 20:10:47
Got to say not getting carried away but disappointed with the line up home v bottom team just thought the emphasis may be more attacking to get the crowd up for it!
But very quiet early on?

18 Dec 2017 11:02:04
get on this kopite logic I took my little girl to school this morning and a kopite behind me said to his mate it's either between Chelsea and us or Arsenal and us for fourth spot he then said yes definitely out us two I am speechless because my way of thinking is that surely that would make it a 3 horse race although I'm guessing Burnley and spurs don't really matter ha ha.

Congrats to Speedo Mick for his recognition on SPOTY 👍 Right, we should be aiming for 3 points tonight against a poor Swansea side and to be honest if we fail I'll be very disappointed. They are lacking confidence and we should take full advantage while we can. 👊👊.

For me it doesn’t matter what team you support quality is quality and as a football fan you have to appreciate a sound performance even it comes from your rivals but I am not asking for approval from anyone just giving my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Dec 2017 21:59:59
Hey Uran, as a true blue I totally concur with you. It was a wonderful performance . Especially going forwards. Your attack is just so wonderful. But the league table does not lie. you are as inconsistant as runny custard in a dirty old pot and until you achieve consistency you will be a "maybe" top 6 side. But Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd are way ahead of you. Sorry bud but there are 4 standards in this league and you are in the 2nd group.
