People seem to be forgetting something about Ross Barkley he may be 19 but the pundits bang on about making debut 2 years ago they have to remember in terms of footballing age he is only 17 had an horrific injury which in my opinion is the only reason he did not burst on the scene same as Rooney did the guy is going to be class and he will prove that this season don't rule him out for a ticket to World Cup providing we get through I think there are so many places up for grabs

Sell felliani to the highest bidder play barkley there"strenthen withe felliani money. jobs a good un!
18 Aug 2013 21:35:41
Really hope barkley becomes like gerrard rat face as he did across the park. young real talent and future for england and us toffees coyb moyes hands off!
And stays at the 1 club!
18 Aug 2013 21:16:03
Was just wondering why the likes of Southampton, Cardiff & Norwich can spend in excess of 20mil & we have maybe spent 9mil, we should at least be out spending teams like that if we are to progress (what you think ed)
Deano {Ed025's Note - i think we have money to spend deano, but its no use wasting it on players who will not improve us mate..
They are bringing championship teams into the premier league so need to invest a lot to turn them into premier league teams. We already have a top 6 premier league team so don't need to invest a lot especially with the youth coming through which we have invested a lot of money in over recent years.

Moyes pissin all off again rumours going round barkley for £10mill. -f moyes was still at everton he be sayiÑg o chance"giner rat!
I doubt its moyes after him just lazy journalists taking a stab
That was a joke one guy made on here.
18 Aug 2013 20:20:02
Maybe reading to much into it yesterday but anyone notice rooney not celebrating with rest of team and also RVP or wellbeck did not even go over to Rooney to thank him for assist as he set up 2 goals they can say what they like but he does not seem to be part of it on the pitch he gave 100% when he came on come on Roo do the right thing you could be loved again
Get this rooney to everton stuff out your head, he's on 250 and would cost 30mil plus, I am the only one that realises this or do poeple think he will play for free
18 Aug 2013 20:02:43
Just coming over to your site as a Norwich fan, was very impressed with how quickly Martinez has managed to change your style of play and thought we were lucky to snatch a draw in the end but we are always awful first game of the season. But I have another message too, I found the behavior of a group of your fans disgusting, worst fans we have had visit whilst in the prem.
19 Aug 2013 03:32:54
What did one of us say piss or ass don't get what happened that was so bad that it is worse than the liverpool fan who ran on your pitch and did the wa*ker sign to youse and pulled the middle finger while the rest of them were shouting abuse at youse so tell me what were we doing that was so bad? Can't see any on it and your fans are hardly angels with your collection of youtube videos acting like thugs and its quite bad when your owner has to buy clappers to make your fans louder because there is no atmosphere at carrow road so think twice before criticising our fans when we probably didn't do anything wrong just we were the only fans singing and youse aren't used to noise at your ground so you call it bad behaviour
18 Aug 2013 19:51:07
I'd trade you Rooney for Barkley?
United fan
18 Aug 2013 23:00:37
Naah, thanks anyway mate but we will keep barkley, he is still hungry
No thank you. {Ed025's Note -
No chance we you pinched rooney of us and we should of been playing for us you snatched are acadamy star your not doing it again with barkley he is ours and have to say he is going to be awsome not just us but england will becon soon has potential to be up there in one of the best and your not going to do with him what you did with Rooney yes he is top drawer but you took away the selfishness in him he is a wonderful player but should of been even better that what he is not going to do it with barkley produce your own get him under a 5 year contract with a buy out clause of 80 million keep them away bill don't deprive us again your not getting him and also ill give you message now don't come back in couple years time when a certain boy called green comes through yea remember the name
Ye that's a deal, but you do know Ross is Nigerian and likes to be called Victor.
Mr Blue Sky

On the assumption we do not sell anyone, does anyone have any idea on what we will do in the last 2 weeks of the transfer window?
A deep cm
At most try and get a couple of loaners I guess.
18 Aug 2013 19:30:42
I told you a few weeks ago Barkley would save us a lot of money .Honda or Barkley .I for 1 say give youth a chance.COYB
We still need coverbarkley playing well or not
18 Aug 2013 17:49:59
Roll over gerrard there's a new midfielder on merseyside called ross barkley!coyb
How soon before the lazy journos start making up stories about him moving to one of the so-called "big" clubs? {Ed025's Note - not long..
They're typing as we are. MU are after Ross Barkley! They have turned their attention to the highly rates midfileder after being rejected by Fabergas. DM belives a bid of £10M will secure they services of Barkley as Everton are in financial difficulty having to sell before they buy. Lazy enough? :)
SA90
Lazy journalists that if they had any clue would see that moyes didn't seem to rate him, couldn't wait to loan him out to any1 despite us having no cms threw injury last season, I doubt barkley would even go because of game time etc
18 Aug 2013 17:36:49
Not a rumour, I'd just like to say it's nice to see James Vaughan seems to have got over his injury problems at last and is scoring the goals we always knew he had in him.
RickTee
It won't be long until he gets injured again, I'd imagine. Shame though - great talent.
I agree was going to post myself he will score lots at that level shame his youth was hampered with injuries glad he is carving out a career at decent level
18 Aug 2013 16:40:37
Why has the club gone back to white nets on the goal the blue one's are much better and would look class on fifa 14 shame there gone.Lee the blue
Its probably the FA who have said they have to be white
It's down to goal line technology
18 Aug 2013 15:27:48
Ok we played ok yesterday but. I think we are getting left behind by spurs and Liverpool in terms of talent, I think we need 2 quality cm a hard box to box 1 and a flair player whi can knock balls out to any wing, also I think we need to blow 15m on a striker, ossie felli naismith vic should be moved on and 3 players to replace them, I also would would like to see pienaar left out more he is garbage last season and yesterday would much prefer to see oviedo who is just begging for game time
Ant wharton
Glad you're not our manager
There's the small matter of money. Just in case it's escaped you, we don't have have a pot to urinate in.
And here's me thinking Felli Barkley Pienaar and Mirallas played pretty well yesterday and should get better the mre games they play together. Oh well maybe I should start playing fifa on me PC.
SA90
Ant, you have some good points imo, but if you were going to make that many changes to the squad, do them in June/early July so you have time to gel the squad etc. Probably not a good idea to make that many changes now the league has started
Gibson in place of osman and that midfield is a match for any midfield in the country it has everything power pace and a pass master in Gibson I am confident we would of won if he was presence hope he is not out long need him playing week in week out if can do that for me he has been bargain buy of century he has the ability to make the team move as a unit it's magical to watch one player keep the shape of team it's a fantastic attribute and does go unnoticed I can't think of anyone that can do it last player I saw do it was keane for utd
18 Aug 2013 16:30:33
Any one else think we looked stronger and fitter in yesterdays game. Under moyes we always looked tired in the final quarter
18 Aug 2013 15:51:43
Can't see Fellaini moving on this summer, he wants to play for Belgium in the World Cup, going to United he won't be first name on the team sheet and he certainly won't be guaranteed to play ever game
EFCMike
Sorry but if cleverly is playing week in week out then I'm sure he would get a game he is twice the player cleverly is overrated
18 Aug 2013 15:05:55
Pressure on wenger not moyse after results. with lack of other obvious options, expect him to come for felli. If we get good money I think it is in our interest to sell. felli good but for me not great and if we are to play a faster breaking style, we can get better with a different style of midfielder.
Wenger won't buy him, he's not a French teenager.
18 Aug 2013 13:44:31
Think we should try and sign holtby he's not going to get a game at spurs now with there signings
Wasy {Ed025's Note - not a bad shout wasy, but only on loan for me..
Loan permenant either way we would benefit and so would holtby woul we really do need a another cm osman is far too slow now he should be player who come on for the last 20 to keep the ball
Wasy {Ed025's Note - why i say loan, is that i think spurs and us are on a similar level, and cant hold down a place with them wasy, it could be that the prem does not suit his style of play, with a loan to buy, we could sample the goods before we lay out any dosh mate..
Ye funny that's he came 6months early and he should of signed now, now he's 10th in pecking order
Why? If he's not good enough for Spurs.
18 Aug 2013 12:33:02
People moaning about us potentially signing gareth Barry I'd much rather have him than leon osman!
All day osmans had his Indian summer not good enough IMO
Fellow blues, the guy is Everton all the way through loves the club and always gives his best. OK that, s not always good enough but give the guy a break
18 Aug 2013 11:51:04

I know there have been comparisons with Barkley and Gerrard but I'm not convinced of that.
I think he has better technique on the ball and quicker feet and reminds me more of Zidane in his physique.
Now I'm not saying he is in that league as Zidane comes from a very small band of players that come along once in a generation and it's only one game but if he keeps on improving at his current rate at the age of 25/26 it's scary to think how good he will be.
I personally didn't think he was quite ready last year as he gave the ball away too much and the loan spells did him good.
This year, well, he'd be first on my team sheet every week.
Jeezy Creezy. only 19.
I think Barkley. Is more like beckham and garza.
I agree! His stats were phenomenal yesterday, 92% pass completion in an away game against Norwich is unreal! Be interesting to see the paper talk surrounding him tomorrow though, he will be tough to keep hold of next year if he plays like that all season. Contender for PFA Young Player I think
EFCMike
Mike you should know Barkley's not good enough for PFA YPY, that's because he doesn't play for UTD, Chelski, etc.
Same with young English players and the England squad. I mean if Zaha hadn't have signed for United in January he wouldn't have got a call up, would he?
Everyone goes on about how little English talent there is, but there is a lot of talent - the England managers just think "Oh, he must be sh*t because he doesn't play for a 'big club'."
It just soooooo pis*es me of.
Totally agree Keith, thank god that outlook wasn't around in 1966. No Moore Hurst or Peters, and Bally wouldn't have been MOM (in most peoples eyes except the press).
Thank you I posted weeks ago he has a very similar style to Zidane natural ability glides with the ball at is feet and body strength is identical he is nothing like beckham or gazza Wiltshire reminds me of gazza the 20 yard runs he makes with chest sticking out is so identical
Hes had one class game let's not get ahead of ourselves here
18 Aug 2013 11:30:10
if we had rooney where would he play?
i like the way the team looks now and would rather keep it as is. If we stand a chance of signing rooney then fellaini would defo be leaving
After seeing Barkley play and the way coleman and baines pushed forward I'd play that way and strengthen the middle more
Well glad that's sorted as he was never coming anyway. But you are right we need another deep CM
18 Aug 2013 10:49:58
Barkley will be be our gerrard. time for the reds to be flapping it"move over gerrard your time is up!
He is our Barkley not our Gerrard. His future is greater than Gerrard.
Reminds me a bit like gaza going forward strength quick feet and one hell of a shot on the lad
18 Aug 2013 10:33:36
I remember watching the Sunday Supplement on tv a couple of years ago and the journalists were discussing the England set up and the lack of young talent coming through. I can't remember the fellas name or what paper he wrote for, but I do remember him saying 'Everton have got a player in Barkley and, if he reaches his full potential, the 2018 and 2022 world cup team will be built around him'.
I'm not just Moyes bashin', (although I do think he's a low-life bum hole) but there's no way he would achieve this under Moyes, coming on with 5 minutes to go, being shipped out to championship clubs for experience when everyone knew he was ready (except Moyes). No wonder there was rumours of him going off the rails, the guys a huge talent, with loads of self-belief. If it had carried on, eventually he would have gone. A manger like Mourinho would have recognised his potential and come in and snapped him for a fraction of his true worth.
Under Martinez I think he will fulfill that potential. He'll enjoy the freedom to express himself, and this will be encouraged by the style of football going on around him. He'll have off days as he's still young and still learning. But he'll get better and better with each game.
Let's just hope he keeps his feet on the ground and doesn't let all the adulation that will surely be coming his way over the coming months go to his head.
About England there is good talent coming through just not in the champions league clubs so much so they get overlooked players like Redmond, Shaw, Stones and Hughes(derby)
Moyes hated playing youth, he has no faith in them, i'd be suprised if zaha plays any more than cup games
18 Aug 2013 10:28:04
Anyone one else reckon Ross Barkley plays like a young Gerard
I was just thinking the same thing mate, should be a interesting derby if those 2 go head to head
18 Aug 2013 09:06:19
So the whole world now knows what we've known for ages; that Ross Barkley is a special player.
How long before the tabloids start linking him with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United and some little manc freak appears on tv with a placard saying 'please buy Barkley' ala Roony?
18 Aug 2013 08:49:18
Norwich fan here, just wanted to say that your team looks really good this year. Ross Barkley is a real gem. Have to also praise your fans, great noise and good fun banter. Also really impressed with the fact that all of you applauded our U18 team when they did a lap with the FA Youth cup. Good luck for the rest of the season and do us all a favour and stuff Liverpool in the derby. {Ed025's Note - nice one mate, and good luck to you as well..
Cheers mate, I've got happy memories of Carrow Road myself, particularly May 87 when 'Psyco' Pat wrapped up the league for us. Good luck for the rest of the season (except for when you come to our place)

18 Aug 2013 07:49:24
world cup year and where did rooney play his best football for england when he was at everton, why not swap him for big hair keep him for a year then sell him to chelsea next season, rooney gets his move we get top class player and would piss moyes off to see him at chelsea
18 Aug 2013 07:25:52
I just want to get peoples views on felli, it reminds me very much of the viera saga before he left arsenal. Every window he will be linked with leaving us and the sad thing is I reckon whenever he gets the chance he'll be gone in a flash. I think RM wants mccarthy in his side and I can see this happening but not for the money quoted that's whelan chancing his arm. But if say we could get say tadic or moses also that would represent very good business. Finally for all those who don't want barry on loan if barry was playing instead of ossie we woyld of won handy.

Great day out at Norwich my first away game for a long time, I would like to single out the everton fans that traveled they were amazing the look on the Norwich fans faces when we go mental was priceless the team put in a great shift really good game, the only negative for me was kone looks a poor player 6mill down the drain there am afraid to say
Boss that new song, does anyone no the word to it.
Allez allez allez oh, allez allez allez oh, were everton fc. robertos blue army 18BLUEBOY78
18 Aug 2013 04:18:27
All this talk of Ossie not being good enough! But we love him! I can't let him go! He'll give us another magical moment this season, and the guys now an international, finally and now he's not "good enough"? Share people? What dyu think ed? Cjtefc1993 {Ed025's Note - to be honest mate, does not do enough for me, decent player to come off the bench, but not to start on a regular basis IMO..
I agree he has been a good player for us, but his legs starting to go, time now to replace, keep him on the bench. Need the bite and leadership in midfield.
Bluenose
Have to agree, he has been good for us, but I do not see him as what we need now, maybe it is time to let him go somewhere else, unless he would be happy being a squad player coming off the bench.
18 Aug 2013 02:48:33
i think poeple need to get the idea of rooney coming out there head exspecially in a swap deal which rarely happens, he would come and play behind the striker aswell were barkley can play and as you can see by his performance he's the future, playing with the enthusiasism that rooney himself used to have
MikedeBlue
17 Aug 2013 23:35:45
Mr Martinez please pls please go get diAme whatever the price. He has everything pace, strong, attacks, defends, assists etc etc. fellainis attempt to stop Norwich first goal was appalling today. Can't be doing with players at the club that can't be arsed. Barkley looks very good but still young kid. Sell Fellaini get diAme another striker and a c h.
Agree the guy would be perfect for us.
Agree mate felly had the chance to tackle or even foul the Norwich player but no not even a half a.sed attempt to stop him what so ever
Ye that moment he pulled out of a tackle I new they would score, you can't expect to play for a champs league team when you spending half the match do three fast strides then giving up
17 Aug 2013 22:55:31
Give it a rest we are 1 point better off we played good football knocked it about well and attacked, it's the first game and different style of play. You moan obout moyes and now we get good football and still moan. I for one will give it a season what do you expect. Starting to sound like the dark side.
Jc
Who's moaning? I've only seen positive posts about today's game.
