To add to my last. Is anyone listening to Unsworth or does Koeman and his Brother feel threatened. Here is a man (Unsworth) who knows the strengths and weaknesses of the Club playing staff inside out.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

18 Sep 2017 09:07:08
Unsworth for me mate, Koeman?

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 21:17:51
Koeman picks 11 players and then decides where to play them, pick a formation and tactics and then insert the players not the other way round. We clearly need width, Ademola? Mirallas, who we stopped from leaving? We spent £45 million on Siggurdson play him as a number 10 his position! Rooney, past it and has as many attributes for a premier league centre forward as my mother, 0! Good person to have around the team and can maybe play a part in Europe, off the bench in pl, and maybe as a 10 or 8 if we have injuries but our first choice centre forward, need to buck our ideas up, rather DCL or Sandro
Finally give Kenny a go! PL2 Champions captain, U20s World Cup champions captain and Martinas in ahead of him Ronny give your head a wobble.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - a lot of sense there mate..

17 Sep 2017 21:37:45
Would rather play Lookman and Kenny and chance them making mistakes. They can at least learn from them. As others have said, Williams plays and almost guarantees mistakes at the moment. Lookman is just as likely to produce something amazing if given the chance, as opposed to "same shinola different day" from some of those who keep getting picked.

Agree2 Disagree1

17 Sep 2017 22:32:05
Rooney was one of our best players today and has been since start of the season people need to accept he is not going to run in behind anymore, played 2 great passes down the flank that got us in behind but then the pace of team let us down.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 23:43:36
Koeman has said if things don't progress then Kenny will be given a chance at full back. He said he knows he is a talent. Well it obviously hasn't worked with Cuco or Holgate. Cuco can whip a cross in and that's about it, Holgate can defend but not attack too well. Then there is Kenny.

Both players rolled into one. remember last season against Swansea. He came on and put more crosses in in twenty mins than the whole team did in the match. just swallow some pride ronny. Play Kenny, play Lookman who has pace to burn. if sandro is up top he needs pacey wingers to get the ball in the box.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Sep 2017 09:12:29
I think Martina is getting better and better. It would be a bit harsh dropping him for Kenny that's not where the issues actually lie. Rooney played well for about 65mins then ran out of steam yet RK took of both Gueye and Davis before him which I thought was a mistake. At least the subs where positive trying to salvage a point. Much better performance that last week though.

Agree0 Disagree2

17 Sep 2017 20:39:25
I was dead against Koeman as manager from the start and his tactics and selection policy has not changed my mind - we have spent 60 mill on two players in defence this year ( pickford and keane ) and we have are leaking goals big time - makes me laugh at all the posters who are still positive - until we get rid of Koeman we will go nowhere.

Unsworth is the man for me - tacticaly sound, knows the youngsters and has played for the club - nows the traditions etc - always said Koeman was a mercenary - just look at the other clubs he has managed, as soon as a better job comes along he dissappears.

the supporters of this great club deserve better - why the hell he does not give Holgate, Niasse, lookman a run is beyond me.

A big few games coming up and I think this will decide his future - lose and he will be shown the door

Please do not keep using the "tough start" as an excuse - we have to play the top 6 teams sometime - 12 games that we are resigned to get nothing or very little from.

{Ed033's Note - Is Leighton Baines at least 2 stone over weight or do i have the incorrect player in mind?

Agree3 Disagree1

17 Sep 2017 21:41:18
Wouldn't be surprised if Koeman felt a bit threatened by Unsworth, given the success and respect he has at the club. He was very quick to undermine the quality of the U23's despite their successes. And its all of Rooney's angry birds that are overweight.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 22:07:55
I have supported EFC for 45 years now- seen the good, the bad and the Mike walkers over this time - we had a golden opportunity with the money available for investment in the squad this year and we are very close to blowing it. Moshiri stated last year that league position is what interests him, well look at the current table and it is not happy reading!

I would walk over broken glass to see EFC but today was a day where I did not even look at the score until the end of the game as I already knew before kick off what was going to happen - enough is enough!

Not sure what other supporters are thinking but if we only draw against Bournemouth for example surely Koeman position is in doubt - my biggest worry is that we beat the likes of Sunderland in the cup and everyone thisnks Koeman is the messiah again.

Agree2 Disagree1

18 Sep 2017 00:47:24
It's one thing to be a u23 manager or assistant manager to being the main man, stats show that as there are not many that have made that transition, and that is not too imply Unsworth is not up too the job.
But Koeman is the man he will turn it around if in 4 or 5 games we don't see any improvement in performance and results then it needs to be looked at but this was a very difficult start for a team that needed time, but now is the time to get behind them more than ever and build some confidence going into the next 5 fixtures Bournemouth Burnley and Brighton are our next 3 prem games with a game against Sunderland and a Euro game. No games a gimme but the mood could be very different after that.

17 Sep 2017 19:30:40
Trying my hardest to pick out the positives but 4 losses on the bounce, 15 goals conceded and none scored has me really worried!
Pickford is going to need a whole season to settle in as will Davey and Vlasic.
Rooney and his antics disappoints as he stated he wanted to focus solely on Everton but instead has been up to old tricks. Really don't see the fuss regarding Keane. have no opinion on Sandro because he hasn't been given a run. Gylffi should have hit the ground running but that doesn't seem to be the case. We need a run of results quickly before the confudence levels destroy our season. Mr Koeman you are steering the ship. no more icebergs please!

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 19:12:06
Apart from the shoddy marking that led to the first goal, I thought this was our best display so far and the 4-0 scoreline isn't a fair reflection of the graft the players put in. This may not be a popular opinion, but I think the fault may lie with Koeman on this one, as his substitutions had a detrimental impact on the game and the confidence of the squad. First he took off Davies, who was arguably our most effective player, especially in terms of energy and dogged determination, when perhaps Gilfi should have gone first. Then he took off Gueye, who while not brilliant today was gumming up the midfield for us well as he always does, and then he took off Rooney, who looked up for it from the start and most likely to score. DCL, Sandro and Mirallas were not ideal replacements and admittedly I honestly don't know who should have been subbed or brought on to make a difference, but the fact remains that all 3 of their second half goals came after Koemans substitutions. Williams was playing well until then too, then he makes a silly mistake as the united players suddenly found more freedom in the centre. Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling for the manager to go, but he's got to stop playing players who aren't up to speed just because of justifying their price tags and limiting the involvement of players who he doesn't rate, just because they're less high profile. Hope we see a few like Niasse, Kenny and Lookman get a chance to prove themselves against Sunderland as we don't have a lot of options in those key roles. Disappointed to be sure, but I was pleased with the fight from the players today at least.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - the spirit was there yes mate, but you cant make errors like williams makes and hope to win anything, also when we have the ball in their half how come it nearly always ends up with pickford?, far too negative and that has to be down to the manager im afraid..

17 Sep 2017 19:40:32
Williams poor since he arrived in my opinion. Could have been a pen for foul on Lingard too. I'd rather see Keane and Holgate together. Williams past it. As is Jags really but rather him than Williams.

Agree4 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 20:27:51
I've been thinking this as well Jack. Maybe it's time we give Holgate a chance at CB. Defensively He's solid so maybe a chance there is due.

Williams today was great and played with aggression and tough in the tackle. Wait for it. Then he does the usual mistake he does in most games and absolutely mess it up.

Plenty wrong still but there were positives today.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 20:42:28
Rooney lost the ball at least 26 times in the first half (conservative guess) . Shouldn't have started second half. Was too eager to prove he still has it to jose and just made silly mistakes. He like all the team were playing too deep and we had no options up front. Game was crying out for some pace and again we had none on the pitch. Davies shouldn't have been taken off either. just my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Sep 2017 21:32:17
I agree Ed. Its all very well Koeman making wisecracks about Crystal Palaces board, but just because Moshiri sought him out to be our manager does not mean he has the safest job in the PL. His body language speaks volumes and I don't think he realised this job would be quite so much effort. Koeman has to have a word with himself or he may lose the dressing room.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im not giving up on him just yet OHEFB and today was certainly an improvement in attitude at least, but i want to see pegs in the correct holes and the likes of ademola, kev, and johnjoe used as we need to put pressure on teams and not start on the back foot all the time mate;;

17 Sep 2017 22:36:12
To be fair Davies hadn't stopped running all game, and I think the lad was knackered.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2017 08:34:24
unfortunately the manager cannot legislate for individual mistakes, it is worrying that William and Jags senior internationals are so poor, they should be the leaders in this side but are error ridden! and Keane at times ls like a rabbit caught in a cars headlights, unsure what to do with the ball and making unforced errors!

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 19:07:57
We have had possibly the hardest run in to a season in years but if we want fight for the title we need to show it. Hopefully the next few games will get us on a winning streak but We need to learn how to shoot in training because I don't like going into work and getting ripped for having so much heart for my club. Why are we so NEGATIVE! COYB 💙.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

17 Sep 2017 18:18:59
So I have watched all of our games this season and we are obviously missing a forward but we have bought 4 players who are in the first team Rooney, Siggurson (sorry about the spelling) , Klassen and Sandro. what is everyone's opinion? in my opinion Rooney and Siggurson should be doing a lot better. There is no excuse they have both played in the premier league for years and have basically done nothing since they joined us. Klassen and Sandro have done very little, didn't Klassen score lots of goals last year? Has he even had a shot for us? It looks to me firstly that we are just not fit enough, we are always a second off the pace. Also we have no creativity in midfield. We are playing with 2 defensive midfielders and there is a massive gap from them to the 3 to 4 number 10's we are playing. I think we need to either drop a defensive midfielder or move one further up the field. Does anyone think we should be playing wingers? When we go forward we seem to be so narrow with all forwards in the middle and no balls coming from out wide. Lastly I like our goalie but I think he needs to learn when he can play a cute pass and when he needs to hoof it!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

17 Sep 2017 20:34:01
It could be a case of koeman playing the wrong formation and tactics why the players aren't gelling a little better.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 18:07:11
4-0 is a little misleading, up to 80 minutes it was squeaky bum time for us, we have a habit of scoring late goals but it was touch and go until the last 10 minutes. You've had a dreadful start but I'm sure you will pick up.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we will have to AJH, 4-0 was flattering for sure but its still 4-0 how ever way you paint it mate..

17 Sep 2017 18:20:08
I know Ed, I worry that it is also misleading for us. We have firepower but in several games we have been lax until the last 10 minutes, we will get punished if we keep doing this.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 18:04:15
Whatever credit comes out of the performance for effort so many questions still remain. strategy of attack, static midfield, pace or lack of, frail defenders. If we go on a run now against lesser teams does not cover up our deficiencies and questionable duplicate type players in same team.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - fair points oscar..

17 Sep 2017 22:38:33
We have the pace Oscar but sadly it's all sitting on the bench mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 17:58:55
Gotta say I now watch our games with fear! Although that score flattered we never came today to win a game only to stifle and nick a point! Never a penalty for me! But that overshadows the fact that we do not look like we have a goal in us!
Most disappointing team I have seen in years given the money spent.
One paced, no cutting edge and predictable and to cap it all too many suicidal errors at the back!
I'm not sure how RK is going to change things around admittedly we have a run of winnable games coming up to change things!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

17 Sep 2017 18:37:31
How many seasons have we played with individual errors at the back costing us ganes and points? I can think of 3-4 in the last 5-6 seasons. Our defence is a major concern but more worrying is our inability to score. I think we've scored 2 goals in league and Rooney has both.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Sep 2017 19:03:25

1st goal unavoidable, 2nd goal was an individual error, the 3rd. well he just had to it was inevitable. This was our best performance of the season so far. Rooney and Sigurdsson should have taken their chances at 1-0. What was pleasing was a bit of grit between our teeth and clear effort shown.

Played well today the lads had a good go that's all we won't as fans is some passion an fight but koeman should start dropping williams he is geting worse from what av seen in holgate he should be playing now williams is slow and his dessision making is terrible.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - williams and rooney for me callum followed closely by cuca and schneiderlin, far too negative in midfield and every pass in their half seems to end up in pickfords arms, better intensity and commitment but 4-0 is 4-0 in the end mate and thats all that counts im afraid..

17 Sep 2017 17:28:48
Will always support r players but cucu at right back is struggling plus should be playing C Lewis he will only improve with games.

{Ed025's Note - better i suppose but it was 4-0 and thats all that matters in the end..

17 Sep 2017 16:56:36
From about halfway through the 1st half we actually showed a bit of fire in our bellies. All we could ask for today in my opinion was the players looking like they actually cared even just a little bit. Thought we were ok actually apart from the ever lacking pace up top.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

17 Sep 2017 16:55:52
Apart from their goal (which even Big Nev in his pomp wouldn't have saved) we are playing a lot better than in recent games.
Been a few squeaky bum moments defensively but otherwise a vast improvent although we can play better.
A goal and a point would be nice to get the confidence up for next weekend.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - we have to get a shot on target for us to get anything though RIB..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

17 Sep 2017 16:03:49
Koeman is a good manager and I honestly believe Rooney was taken as a makeweight in the Lukaku deal. That said Rooney playing at any cost is a mistake and takes away from the best side we could potentially pick. That side today is a give away.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

17 Sep 2017 15:49:04
Wow. that's a strange line up.
I really don't see what koeman sees in this line up, it's going to be backs to the wall stuff for 90 minutes. Such a shame as well, this season promised so much but I really really shocked to what koeman said that a back 3 gave us a good result at City! We got a draw but we got battered by ten men!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

17 Sep 2017 15:39:12
For some reason I felt like we were going to get a point today, but after seeing the team sheet I think it's going to be another hammering. Why is Koeman obsessed with playing a back 3 against the teams above us in the table from last season? Once again there is no pace in the team, no width, and we don't even have a striker in the first 11. I'm usually very optimistic, but Koeman is making this very difficult. He is becoming a combination of Moyes and Martinez where we have an inferiority complex versus the big clubs and no plan B when things aren't going well. I really hope the team proves me wrong, but I really can't see us scoring or keeping a clean sheet.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - its very negative denver, as you say no pace at all in the side which will mean we will be on the back foot from the first whistle, i honestly cant see us getting a result mate..

Hello Blues,

Old user with a new profile (forgot my old details, it's been so long since my last post! )

The only thing keeping my spirits high at the moment is the glorious weather conditions on holiday in Majorca.

I'm not even looking for a win today, just hoping to see that the current crop of Blues show some passion, love and fight for the club we have valued since we were little sproggies.

That alone will be enough to convince me that we have what it takes to meddle with the best there is. There's no doubting the quality we have, we just need to find that balance. Like Koeman said - the passion must be there before ability.

There are some potential dark times ahead, but I know we can pull away from it. January and a new striker cannot come quick enough.

Dreaming of an Oumar brace today.

Come on you Blues, optimism is key.

May not be world beaters but least offer something different rather than trying to play centre midfielders on the wing or out wide.
