Whatever Barkley has said, and whatever context it is meant, he isn't better than what we currently have at the club and that's all that matters to me.

Compare his sideways passing and wayward shooting to Sighurdssons defence splitting passing and accurate shooting and that pretty much decides it for me.

Bottom line is for me he's nowhere near Sigis quality and still won't be in 10 years time. I've moved on and so has the team.

Better not Bitter.

He would still walk into our team? Yous are really mad 😂😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i dont think he would griffo, we hyped him up because he was one of ours but in all honesty he is mediocrity personified mate..

I think Barkley is a quality player with real ability who has amazing potential that injuries have curtailed. If he can stay fit will blossom. But he has a mouth totally disconnected from any brain and even if there is a connection, he makes Rooney look like a genius! What the **** is he doing coming out with comments about EFC now anyway? The guy might be a great footballer, but he is an person for getting involved with his past club and silly comments!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - a rocking horse has more brains than ross degsy, amazing potential only matters if you realize it and up to now he is falling well short mate..

I wonder what he will say about Chelsea when he carnt get into there team. Don't blame the training just get down to it and work harder, no one is bigger than the club, so onwards and upwards and 3pts tomorrow.

Eds sound like bitter blues and should respect the talent Barkley has. bit childish to rubbish him just because he's no longer with us. yes frustrated with his exit but still a talent.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your wrong trev i have always been consistent where ross is concerned, bags of talent but has never grown up and has made some terrible life choices imo mate, as a wavertree lad myself i was desperate for him to do well, this is not sour grapes its an indictment of how fame and fortune have blighted his career and if he turns it around then no one will be happier than me, this is of course just my opinion and you are entitled to yours..

I have always likened RB to Gazza. Like Gazza superb with the ball at his feet, like Gazza a potential game winner, like Gazza thick as two short planks. We are better off without him. I like what we have.

His final pass and decision making let's him down. If and it's a big If, he can sort that part of his game he could be a very good player. Unfortunately they are two very hard traits to coach at the speed the prem is played at.
Those traits are the difference between good and great players.

No one has said He's a bad player it was his attitude that let him down.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - personally I would say it is his terrible lifestyle, poor choice of friends and laziness in training that let him down. Ed025 might be a bit harsh on him, but he has a very good point, Barkley was all potential, potential that would never have been achieved at Everton as he was being overhyped and thought he was already great. He simply wasn't great and was exceedingly average but had the potential to be much better. I still do not see anything special about him.}

Like I said may times in the past. he has ability and that ability has constantly been held back with injuries both severe and mild. He has only ever had one constant run of games and that was with Everton and he scored 8 goals that season and created loads for Lukaku. In my opinion he is a really great player. But as both Eds have said and I also said, he makes poor life choices and also is as dim as a 10 watt light bulb when opening his mouth. I think his call into the Chelsea first team and his inclusion in the England team that beat Spain in Spain shows exactly what ability he has. He has now scored a few goals in his last few games and also had a few assists. If he continues staying fit and stays working hard, he will show his ability. Perhaps the one decision he made that was a good decision was to leave Everton? I only say this because he had surrounded himself with bad advice and needed a fresh start. But he has since spoilt that decision with further comments about Everton FC. He has supposedly moved on so should do that and shut up about Everton.

{Ed025's Note - spot on degsy mate..

What's everyone's thoughts on Ramsey? Out of contract at the end of the season so guess he'd be of interest.

I've always liked him. Get some a few goals, defence-splitting passes and could link up well with Walcott (again) and Richarlison playing balls in behind.

Only issues for me are injury record - although it isn't as bad as Walcott's was and he's been fine - and where would he play? Sig's looked class in the number 10 role but Ramsey would be wasted in a DM position, so that only leaves a Glenn Hoddle love train down the middle of the park - Gueye as DM, Ramsey CM and Sig at 10 - which wouldn't work.

Great player he's never coming to us though. He will be at a champions league club next season.

Agree with Jacamo, fantastic player but no chance he’ll come to us. He’s leaving Arsenal because he believes he can cut it at a higher level team I’ve heard, so that rules us out.

I agree, but can’t see which of the bigger clubs need him. City don’t, I’d argue Chelsea don’t unless Hazard goes, he wouldn’t go to Spurs and I can’t see him playing under Moaninho. Guess that leaves the neighbours which would be gutting! Either that or abroad but can’t see any of the big guns in Europe taking him.

I like him and feel he might come as we have Wallcot and maybe a little passed his best so might not attract a champion league club. I would love Ramsey at Everton be a great signing, we could offer him first team football.

might fancy being a star at us instead of another player at a top team you never no.

I think if we get the twin CBs performing consistently then we could have Gueye on his own in front of them and both Sig and Ramsey as AMs with one dropping back slightly to cover when the other goes forward. Reckon we’d have real creativity there with Richarlison and Walcott (plus Lookman) on the wings. Still not convinced Tosun is a 20+ a season striker so would like to see a quality CF come in, but definitely want to keep him.

I don’t think we’re far away now. If we can get some consistency I reckon we’ll have a good season and put ourselves in a position to attract players of Ramsey’s quality next year.

I would much rather see a 15-20+ striker come first.

This has to be one of the most irritating phrases thrown around regarding transfers. You here it all the time, as if such things grow on trees.
I don't think many managers ever said I want you to go out and get me a 5-10 goal Striker did they?

No brainer. Quality and a worker and scores goals from midfield. and on a free?
