Cue the ribbin that Barkley will get on MOTD not consistent enough etc etc, I honestly think the mood and the sad news today effected the whole club massively today R. I. P Howard true legend.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - you may be right lancer..

18 Oct 2015 00:22:13
Don't think that can excuse the performance, have a look at Ian Rush' interview after the Liverpool game about Howard Kendall. Brilliant.

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Oct 2015 08:45:25
Your right Swan it isn't an excuse but don't think it helped matters either.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Oct 2015 19:16:59
The players are humans not robots like some people think they should be, don't forget they would have all probably of known HK as was still around the club at time, so to expect them to go out and give a performance just hours after hearing the news unreasonable. They were probably still in a bit of shock as they had no time to take the news in so for me I can can totally overlook yesterdays performance because of the unique circumstances surrounding the game.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Oct 2015 20:08:06
Well said Mike S. People do forget that the players are only human like the rest of us at times. No doubt they'll want to put that game behind them and be encouraged to make HK proud after everything settles down. No doubt he will be proud looking down from above R. I. P. the legend that is HK.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Oct 2015 21:22:23
Seen this suggestion on Twitter which I think would be an amazing gesture by the club and name a stand at Goodison and at our new ground whenever it appears as the Howard Kendall stand.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - I like that revs..

18 Oct 2015 00:42:33
We should've done whilst he was alive; that would've been the greatest tribute.

17 Oct 2015 20:59:45
Well, things started badly with the sad news about Howard Kendall then quickly got worse with the shocking result against United.
Then, when I got home, I found my wife had left me; things are finally looking up.
Pub here I come, yay!

I rarely venture away from the United page but today I would like to make an exception. In 1985 I was at Wembley to watch United eventually win the FA Cup with that Whiteside goal. However the goal apart the thing I remember most about that day was the respect and admiration I and many others had for a truly outstanding Everton team and we all sang "Everton" in tribute. I also remember you came to Old Trafford and respected Sir Matt, so today I would like to say my condolences for Howard Kendall who created that eighties team and had my respect. May he rest in peace as a legend of your club.

From a spurs fan but have a soft spot for the toffees gutted to hear about Kendall. In the 1980s he had Everton as the top club in the country playing fantastic football and I still think about sheedy linerker Trevor Steven and co as one of the greatest football teams I have ever seen.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate..

17 Oct 2015 18:15:20
Why is anyone shocked at today's result it's the same team and same manager as last season.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

18 Oct 2015 07:34:15
So you predicted 3-0? Any chance of next weeks result mate.

We won 3nil last season you make no sense skylark.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Oct 2015 17:15:16
Oh I forgot to mention, what is with the booing? Booing Schweinsteiger? WHY? Oh yeah he used to annoy me when we played Bayern in the Champions League. Do half our fans watch Football? Why boo Schweinsteiger? Robbie Styles in the Lower Bullens needs to shut up as well. Anyone else heard him? Fella who shouts instructions all game? Tells us to launch it then play it short then keep it then run with it then pass it out the back then launch it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Oct 2015 17:52:55
Kendall would be ashamed of today's performance. Shocking all round today. Well let's just move on; we all said once we have a bad result do not go too negative. So far it's been a good start to the season until the performance today.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Oct 2015 21:59:25
I honestly think the loss of Howard crept onto the pitch today.

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Oct 2015 05:10:53
Haha, trying to make it out as if the players knew him personally or something. Come on now the excuses are getting embarrassing, average team and a below par manager. 8th - 10th place finish for the 'people's club' pfff.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Oct 2015 07:39:21
Getting a bit high and mighty aren't you mate now Klipperty is in charge. No worries, will all be okay when he A. Leaves to join a bigger club. B. Gets sacked if he doesn't win the league in 3 years (which he won't) . Or C. Gets his dream move to Utd.

I predict the latter, once his contract is up he will take over from Van Gaal.

Have a nice day.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Oct 2015 17:37:58
Well, what a bad day for all of us blues, starting off with the sad news that Howard had passed away this morning. RIP HK, gave me plenty of great childhood memories when we took both the English league and, although cut short, Europe by storm.
Then we witness the current team labour away for 90 minutes without actually seeming to do anything. Defensively we were shocking, not something we have been able to say too many times this season. Maybe bringing both Stones and Seamus back for this game was a mistake against a united team that took their chances. Only Rom and Lennon can hold their heads up, the rest might as well have stayed in the changing rooms. This is up there with the Watford game as the worst we have played this season, at least in the second half of the first game we turned up and salvaged a point. As I said, bad day all round.

17 Oct 2015 18:19:58
If a kopit tells me it's cold at the north pole, knowing what bull shiters they are, I would be inclined to book a two week sunshine vacation, however the one that came on here and said we now had the spanish Brenden Rodgers, was, regretable, spot on. Now if we only had a yank with some ball to give him the tin tack.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Oct 2015 05:18:25
JCW I understand it must be hard for you. You have the spanish BR, very average team, you get ripped apart by Utd, and your Wales team lost an all. I guess it's always blue on the rubbish side of mersyside.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Oct 2015 07:41:23
Didn't you get ripped apart by Utd? 3 times in a row? Did Norway qualify for the Euros mate? Or Scandinavia?

What an all round shocking performance. Naismith should only come on as a sub. Shocking! Back 4 were all poor. Maybe Funes Mori should be playing in Barry's Role. I can run quicker and I have torn hamstring at the moment. We gave that game to Man Utd. 3 mistakes 3 goals! . Can anyone tell me if we have scored from a free kick this year. I can't remember the last time we did. All round pathetic performance and knowing us we will come out and beat the gunners next week (maybe wishful thinking) .

Howard-2-IM SICK OF THIS GOALKEEPER. Goes the wrong way all the time, doesn't react like most keepers do, he decides which way before the shot. Get Joel on goal now.

Coleman-5-Nothing going forward and I stick to my point that he is the worst crosser in the team.

Stones-6-Read Jags.

Jagielka-5-I love our Centre Backs, they are brilliant, today, they look like the Glimmer twins taken over by Titus Bramble and Gary Caldwell.

Galloway-5-Caught out way too much.

McCarhty-4-Been poor for a while now, you know it's bad when Michael Carrick beats you for pace.

Barry-5.5-Not much better.

Lennon-6.5-Worked hard and caused trouble when on the ball, but I will talk about Martinez in a minute. Had to do Coleman's job for him.

Barkley-4-Lost it more than usual, poor set pieces but it doesn't help when imbecile 'fans' hurl abuse at him.

Naismith-3-Just, just awful, that hattrick is a distant memory.

Lukaku-7.5-Bullied Smalling but had no help at all. Held it up well and was a tank.

Martinez, get rid of Howard, take Naismith out the team, the formation was odd. Naismith like a centre mid and Barkley like a right forward. Galloway got no support. No idea why Lennon went off, poor all round.

It happens time and time again just when you think things are looking up Everton let you down again especially on a day like today but it's hardly surprising think we all jumped on the bandwagon when we beat Chelsea but turned out any one can beat them now we have the same points as Liverpool and they have just sacked there manager for being where they are.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Oct 2015 16:25:27
. well we struggled to draw against a poor Liverpool team on the day and getting thrashed by the Mancs today and both at home. I think our season has now taken a turn for the worst. where the hell we'll end up by next May is anyone's guess!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

17 Oct 2015 16:43:28
Always taught do not change an unbeaten side. We find a way of playing that brings Lukaku into play and then yet again the 'New Tinkerman' thinks he knows best so the side and tactics are changed.

I had the honour of sitting a couple of seats behind Bill Kenwright last season against Lille.

At half time I was walking back up to the Dixie Dean suit when I noticed Howard stood next to me. I put my hand out and shook his but was in such awe that I forgot to let go and ended up walking up the steps holding his hand.

With a chuckle he said could he have his hand back then gave me a warm pat on the back.

I'm devasted today but I'm going to sing my bloody lungs out and make sure wherever he is he can hear how much he meant to us blues.

RIP Mr Kendall

When my grandfather passed away, I was away overseas with no way to get home.
One of the lads took me under his wing and gave me one of the best pieces of advice I've ever had; 'don't mourn the loss, celebrate the memory'
And we did, in style.
So today, let's not forget Howard Kendal, but also let us celebrate his memory by doing something he would have truly wanted and smash Manchester United all round Goodison Park. COYB. NSNO.

All this hype across the park and in the media got me thinking. Mats Hummels says they won't have to wait for Klopp to deliver a title! . so I thought I would look up the definition of a title. A title is a prefix or suffix added to someone's name in certain contexts. mmm I wonder what titles we can think of to pre-fix his name? And more importantly I wonder what the Reds fans will put in front of his name when they have won bugger all after 4 years?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i happen to like klipperty degs, he comes across really well and could have the same affect as when mourinho first came by being a breath of fresh air (until JM turned into an arsehole), he has got a big job on though to bring any success to the red half....as they say..you cant polish a turd.. :)
