Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

17 Jul 2013 23:35:22
Hey ed's gone quiet on signin's. Any news on anyone we're interested in. Also good result tonight. Roberto looks to be the happiest manager around. Well why wouldn't he be he's one of us now.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I doubt there will be any more signings until they get back from the US

Agree0 Disagree0

Think now Martinez is taking a good, hard look at the squad and assessing whee improvements could be made. I still think signings will be made regardless of whether Fellaini or Baines leave (which I think both will stay now).

Wouldn't expect anything until August now.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2013 23:32:27
Only two ways Baines will leave IMHO:
(1) He asks for a transfer and we get an accepatable offer; or
(2) We get an exceptional offer and RM decides it's worth accepting anyway and we push the move.
Nothing new in the above, I know, but just my view for what it's worth.

on the crocky grapevine, rumour has it rooney wants to come home and see out the remainder of his career out at everton! he wants to wear the blue shirt of everton again and has let blue bill know this since he has returned back to the uk a few days back!hes willing to take a drop in his wages so its up to bob or kenright and then use baines or felli as part of the deal! true or false? either way I trust in bob!love it seeing the ginger skip rat having a hard time! too big for his ginger boots!rooney make his l lad even if its not true about the move!

for those that didn't manage to catch the game:

Everton 4 - 1 Accrington
-Gibson
-Anichebe
-Mirallas
-Osman

My personal Player ratings

Joel - 7 - Barely touched the ball, and had a couple of dodgy clearances, but made a good save at the end, was quick off his line and took the ball from the air well.

Hibbert - 6 - Typically uncomfortable going forward and practically unchallenged defensively

Jagielka - 7 - Equally unchallenged, but made a few good interceptions

Distin - 6 - Barely touched the ball; didn't have to.

Oviedo - 7 - Looked very good going forward and linking up with Mirallas but was caught out defensively and should take responsibility for conceding the goal.

Naismith - 7 - Didn't set the game alight and misplaced a few passes, but also made a few nice one touch interplays with other players

Gibson - 10 - Controlled the game excellently and his long passing was as good as you are going to see. Had less influence in the second half, but the goal confirms him as Man of the Match, for me.

Fellaini - 6 - Performed his job as a defensive midfielder. Didn't get forward to contribute to attacks and was perhaps a little exuberant in his tackling in defense at times, but was generally comfortable.

Mirallas - 8 - Could be accused of being greedy, at times, but was still exciting whenever he had the ball, got a good assist and a great goal from a free kick.

Osman - 9 - another contender for Man of the Match. Skipped past his opponent almost every time he got the ball and dropped back to help Gibson a lot. Also scored a nice header.

Anichebe - 8 - As usual; didn't offer a lot of threat on goal, himself, but held the ball up and laid it off fantastically. Also scored a nice header.

Subs -
Vellios - 7 - Dragged around a lot but stayed strong and worked hard.
Pienaar - 7 - Only spent about 20 minutes on the pitch but was good whenever he had the ball
Baines - 6 - Didn't do much.
Grant - 6 - Also didn't do much, but looked quite good whenever he did.
Alcaraz - 7 - Didn't have to defend much, but distributed the ball well.
Francisco Junior - 3 - only on for about 4 minutes but gave the ball away with both touches, with terrible passes.
Gueye - 7 - Didn't look sharp enough to be dangerous in the Prem, but looked a threat against this level of opposition.
Coleman - 7 - Got down the wing a few times and got a good assist for Osman.

Hope you post this, Ed, so people who missed the match can get a more comprehensive idea of how we did. This is all just my opinion.

Nice one AB, stuck in work so great info for me mate

Much appreciated

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Osman was poor mate, even though he got a goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers for the raitings and comments what formation did we line up in and was Naismith still wide right instead of behind the striker?
Quinny

Agree0 Disagree0

Good ratings by the OP. Pretty much agree give or take the odd point here or there. A bit harsh on Junior though!
Even under DM I thought our defenders always had a mistake in them, so can't necessarily blame RM's possession & passing tactics for any mistakes. The movement of the players up front, out wide, and in midfield was very fluid and bodes well IMHO. Early days - but promising.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks, Degsy, glad you appreciate it. Was a bit worried it would just go by unnoticed :P

ToffieMike; Really? I thought he was good and the Sharpie and whoever the other commentator was were picking him as man of the match

Quinny; No problem, mate. I think we just played a 4-2-3-1 like usual. Naismith was on the right again, yeah.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't blame the goal on oviedo, the guy got behind him, that's his job, i'd blame the 2/3 who didn't get back into the box

Agree0 Disagree0

4-2-3-1 again, and yes I think he was RW quinny, but it was quite a fluid system

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I thought he was AB1878, every time I saw him on the ball he would give it away.

Agree0 Disagree0

Osman wasn't poor at all! I watched the game and agree he was another contender for man of the match aswell. He had a Very Good game. What match you were watching then Mike? Unbelievable

Agree0 Disagree0

Good assesment AB- Bit harsh on Junior though. He only got 3 minutes on the pitch. I think he will do well under Robbie and will be treated better than he was under the previous manager who cocked everything up at Leeds last year.

stewillow

Agree0 Disagree0

He was poor, not good enough for the first 11 next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, I was being harsh on Junior, to be honest :P it was just that both of his passes were SOO poor. You couldn't even tell who he was trying to pass to, they were that bad.

I enjoyed tonight's game - both the performance (especially first half) and the result - but it was just a pre-season game against a lower league side. Good to see a few players get a chance and also good to see the RM passing tactics coming together. Also good to read RM's comments about getting transfers done early, giving players (especially youngsters) a chance to prove they can be part of the first-team squad, and possibly bringing in other players as needed during the remainder of the transfer window. Early days, so no knee-jerk reaction, but pleased with signs.

If I was Rooney I would be the same you banged the goals in for last 9 years let's not forget the season before they signed RVP he scored 30 goals then he is playing 2nd fiddle also utd were a better team the season they lost title to man city than they were last year as man city were poor also like to say if utd did sell Rooney to Chelsea they may as well let him take the premier league trophy with him that's how big he is just heard a utd fan saying he is not consistant not had a bad 9 years as he and will break all goal scoring records England's and shearers record would of done utds as well but that ain't happening now, would lik to know your thoughts on the whole Rooney thing

Should not of said those 4 players were crap. they are championship players. heitinga causes mayhem when defending even Howard Kendall said that. naismith was a moyes panic buy playing in a bad Scottish league. duffy needs more game time because he car, nt dislodge a 37year old. and anichebe could, nt hit a barn door Kone would of scored 15 to 18 goals for us last year with the players we have. That would have been the difference of getting in Europe. jelavic only went to Austria to see if he still had a future now we have signed Kone.

Being quoted £15mil for Mcmanaman is ridiculous.

The guy has only started 8 league games for Wigan in the league. £5-£7mil at the most. Anything more and we are being ripped off.

We're better going abroad and getting a better player for less money. I'd rather have Tom Ince.

Reading comments made by RM on the OS and in my opinion I think our buisness is done for now. RM will wait till everybodys back (seniors) and he will also start blooding in the youngsters more. he will be working out our best formation and strongest 11 over the next few weeks for the start of the season.

I do hope am wrong but I don't think we will see any more signings until the last week of the window. what does everybody else think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think you're right, GLC. Unless we sell someone (and by that I mean a First XI player - not a Heitinga or a Gueye) I can't see us buying anyone till maybe a few last minute deals at the end of August.

we have had a 10million bid for mcmanamin? rejected. thank **** the man is completely over rated, hopefully RM doesn't increase the offer

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes lol that's why he was man of the match in the fa cup final

Agree0 Disagree0

It's got to be bs that as if that is true then why did we pull out of the deal for Moses when he only costs 8m and he's a better player than McManaman so it all sounds very shady to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

So what if he was motm in the cup final. Doesn't make him worth anywhere near £10m at the moment. It's consistency that will make him his name not the odd one off. Anyone can have a good game every now and then. And, again, what's funny being motm in the fa cup final?

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed, Moses is a much better player and I also reckon mcmanaman is very much overated. He had around half a dozen decent games last season now he's in the championship. I wouldn't pay anymore than 5m for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I was wigan I would want 10million plus I seem to recall most of you guys wanting 3m for guye

Agree0 Disagree0

Poster 3, that's easy to answer. You have no money and wanted Moses on Loan. Chelsea are only interested in selling Moses and want to recoup the fee they paid Wigan. So no deal there.

Poster 5, you're clueless, go on be honest. How many times have you seen Moses or McManamna. i'm guessing half a dozen at most.

Infuriates me how people comment on players when they clearly know nothing about them. Just hold your hands up and say that you haven't seen enough of them to make a comment. You can't afford McManaman so don't worry you won't get ripped off.

I had a dream last night that Rooney came back home to everton & scored a last minute winner against Man U At home next season to cap a famous win & seeing dour daves face at the final whistle with Rooney celebrating was worth every penny! I know this is also fantasy talk folks & won't actually happen, but wouldn't it be just great if it did, just to see moyes face!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Actually mate stranger things have happened you never know maybe 1 day.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be brilliant wouldn't it? I know he left us so early, but I still consider him an Evertonian, and recently, his actions have become much more mature, as opposed to his younger days when Everton fans would clearly get under his skin.

If he ever did come back (can't see it in the next couple of years) and scored one in front of the Kop to seal a win, all will be forgiven for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting that the bitterness towards Moyes is such that it seems many would much rather see him fail - and would prefer that even more than seeing Everton have success. It's like some fans enjoy the darkside's problems much more than enjoying Everton doing well. Each to his own I suppose, and it is difficult, but I'd prefer to enjoy the positivity of Everton doing well rather than just wallowing in the negativity of seeing certain others fail. Anyone else - or is that being naive?

If anyone was even remotely believing the Rooney to us rumours. let this be the end of it. This is how much it would cost!

Chelsea will have to spend £80m to land Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. The package would include £28m committed to a transfer fee, with his five-year contract on £200,000-a-week wages costing £52m.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If you don't understand what you're talking about you shouldn't try to put an 'end' to an anything.

Rooneys sponsors - Nike and Coca Cola amongst others all contribute to the majority of his wages.

Not too mention if WR went to EFC he would likely not demand £200k.

+ With the TV Deal and the merchandise/coverage sales that Rooney as an everton player would produce EFC would likely benefit.

Agree0 Disagree0

But he would lower his wage demands to come home

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact that you are quoting this from The Sun makes this the worst post ever.

Agree0 Disagree0

How would EFC benefit from merchandise sales from Rooney or any other player? Only kitbag will profit there. Guess you don't know what you're talking about!

And if you think Nike and CocaCola are going to pay Rooneys wages to bring him to EFC you are living on another planet!

The ONLY way he will return is at the end of his career when his wage demands are lower and he doesn't have a transfer fee!

Agree0 Disagree0

Colleen ain't going to go to that London with a 2 month old baby, my guess is he is stamping his feet now in order to orchestrate a move to city!
Surely we have to atleast enquire about it?
Could be the diference in trying to sell the club.
The amount of media coverage a move of that magnitude would generate is incredible for a club searching 24/7 for new owners.
Never going to happen though lads.

Agree0 Disagree0

Manchester United pay Rooney's wages. He gets extra in sponsorship deals etc but none contribute to his wages and Everton get c£3.2m in revenue from kitbag regardless if we sell 1 shirt or 10 billion so your theory he would pay for himself is well wide if the actual truth.

Wo Moyes has basically told Rooney to do one!
Come on any Rooney family members, be it uncles, aunties or Coleen etc tell him to take a massive wage cut and come home to the club that he loves! BK wants him and I keep hearing ed saying a big signing will come. To add to the conspiracy theory was this part of the deal last January that decided Moyes was off to Utd {they went to court against each other and he's going}?
Now before ed does it I will do it, mmmmmmm (always like that!). Rooney is a millionaire and BK said he cried when he signed for utd. Don't have a go guys I really think there is a chance here.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I like your enthusiasm but I think you map be jumping the gun mate. can't see Rooney coming back this season, fact is, he can still command a handsome wage, and will do so for this season and beyond.

Think we will see Rooney in a couple years, but find it hard to see Rooney, who has shown in his career, that he values money highly on his agenda, take a ridiculous wage cut to play for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance, more likely Lord Lucan will be found. Rooney will not comeback at this time would you take a drop, on 250k pw. He is still in his prime, I wish everybody would just stop posting silly rumours, let's be realistic, we don't have the money.

Do you think Baines or Felliani would be happy on 50k a week knowing Rooney was there on 200k? It's a ridiculous notion that he wil earn us money because it would throw our wage cap out the window and players would become unhappy o disgruntled and the star players will just leave to where they can get more money. You cannot have one player in the team on 4 times as much as the next highest earner. There is a lot more to it than just being able to pay the wages.

Totally disagree paddock blue. players understand there self worth, again this becomes about what a player commercially and globally is worth to a club. rooney makes utd money. what was scholes, Ferdinand, giggs wages compared to rooney I'd say 100 grand a week difference. if rooney came to everton it would be jackpot time for everton. every commercial and marketing product would be buzzing around goodison. as for everton players. your tell me they'd be disappointed and jealous of rooney joining them. no chance

Would love Rooney to come home come on Roberto offer them Fellaini and 5mill i'm sure they would rather he came to us than Chelsea come on give him a sneaky call on the hush hush sure they do it all the time i'm sure wages can be sorted out as he is already minted 75 k a week would be enough surely we can manage that maybe wayne is our big signing.
