Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

17 Jan 2014 23:02:30
.according to press reports tonight, everton have signed 'lacina traore' from Monaco on loan til the end of the season. This deal will be announced sometime over the weekend, possibly tomorrow. This guy in my opinion is real class (certainly much better than k/jones anyway) & at 6ft 8" tall will scare the life out of some defences. it's also interesting, that roberto hasn't spent any real dish on another striker & gone for another loan - does that mean he is saving all that money for a significant end of season bid for lukaku? Or maybe even Rooney? Ed, wot u think?

{Ed025's Note - i said at the start of the window that we would not be that busy zacki, there is a plan in place and its long term mate..

Can always rely on you Ed025 to answer Questions as best as u can and not dismiss them as other Ed does, thank you:)

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ed. I guess it's good to plan for the future. in which case the 'traore' loan rumour has real legs then.enabling us to financially plan ahead on some big hitters.

Agree0 Disagree0

At 6ft 8" this fella would have some serious real legs zachi.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought we had our full quota of possible loan deals?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we're allowed one more from abroad Degsy.

McGeady supposedly in the squad for West Brom. Won't start, but apparently he's 'looking sharp' says El Bobby. Anyone care to make a friendly wager on what minute he comes on? I bet an imaginary fiver on 78". Any takers?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - an imaginary fiver?....tell your imaginary boss to give you an imaginary raise mate :)

I'd rather have an imaginary job, too, mate. Alright then, a real fiver, but let me find my crayons first.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you lose your bet, you can always say that an imaginary McGeady came on in the imaginary 78th minute and scored an imaginary 20 yarder to give us an imaginary 3 points. I have used this system for donkey's years now and it has always worked for me. We also won the league in the last 20 yeaars consecutively. Imaginary of course.
I guess you are chosen to be an Evertonian, but it doesn't stop you dreaming! LOL

Just done the usual Youtube Ed and he looks big, strong, fast and skillful, I know its Youtube but he defo has something

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have not seen that much of him degs, but tall and gangly players seem to promote a long ball game, which is something that i would hate to see us playing mate..

He's got quick feet and a deft touch for such a big lad. Seems strong on the ball too, based on the few clips I've seen.

Agree0 Disagree0

True Ed but could you see Martinez allowing us to play the long ball game? I certainly couldn't and his large build would surely only be a plus whe have struggled to score from crosses the season and he would definitely help with that

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - fair point lew..

17 Jan 2014 22:26:51
Decent striker, considering, has pace, power, is actually not that good in the air considering he is 6-foot-8, very strong, decent finisher and can go past people but is always on his arse and is about as agile as a walrus, for cover why not but in terms of quality he won't make us better he will just be another body in the squad

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't happen anyway he can only play for the club who sorted the work permit if we want him we would have to apply for another permit plus why would bobby sell a permanent contracted player and replace him with a loan isn't the point of a us getting a new striker to replace lukaku when he returns to Chelsea! Lazy journalism again! I'm sure bobby will surprise us all with a little gem :-)

Hey lads I just wanted to get your view on this

since the summer we have sold about 40 mil worth of players (Fellaini 27.5 mil, Anichebe 6 mil and jelavic 7.5 mil) albeit players that martinez deemed surplus its still a lot of money going out of the club.
On the coming in to the club front we have brought in (McCarthy 13 mil, Alcaraz free, Kone 5 mil, Robles 3 mil, Lukaku loan (5 mil fee?), Deulofeu loan, Barry loan, McGeady 500,000 (reported) ) which totals 26.5 million. This should leave us with 13.5 million to spend. However I still believe this makes us a sell to buy club, which I believe could run us into problems in the future (for example when we do not want to sell any stars but we want to refresh the squad for seasons to come). I know martinez has made so many positive changes but can that continue without at least some cash injection from the board. What happened to the TV money? How long can we keep this up? and above all what is everyone elses opinion on this?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not sure we've even been given the TV money? Anyway, I'm not worried Tmh, people have been voicing similar concerns for years but we're still up there.

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is your forgetting signing on fees, agent fees, e.t.c, its never clear cut as saying 40-26.5 leaves us this amount

Question for ed07, celtic fan, just wanted to get your opinion on mcgeady?, when I've watched him for spartak and ireland he has played on the right and not been impressive but recently I've heard people saying his best position is on the left, where does he play best? And do you rate him?

Cheers

Mike-Ox Long

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - He can play on either wing Mike and I've seen him play in the hole behind the strikers a few times. He never really progressed as a player and I couldn't believe that we got £9.5 million for him. He is the type of player that will have you singing his praises one minute and want to strangle him the next, he's very inconsistent in my opinion and regularly makes the wrong choice whether to pass, dribble or shoot. He played against us in the CL last season for Spartak Moscow and didn't look as if he had improved any during his time in Russia.}

Cheers mate

Hi mike.I'm Irish and mc heady generally plays on the left for us when he plays. I think he is very inconsistant and his final ball is terrible.hopefully he proves me wrong

Hi ed there was a lot of news about baines pledging his future to us the other day it's all gone quiet now! What have you heard from your sources? Thanks ed

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are asking about.}

I think what he was asking you ed is is there any update on the supposed new contract for Baines tying him to us and giving Moyes the tablet?

Agree0 Disagree0

Print my posts.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i will if they are pertinent, non abusive and if you sign in..

17 Jan 2014 12:02:07
Hi ed what striker are we most likely to sign? And will it be the player turning us down because they will be sitting on the bench till the summer because of lukaku? I thin we should try and get a loan to buy for a backup striker then in the summer go for A quality striker because they will have more of a desire to join because they will be first choice.

Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I can't answer "most likely" questions - I can tell you when I know of interest and I do that.}

17 Jan 2014 18:01:20
You don't sound in too good a mood today Ed, I know you aren't normally the happiest chap anyway but you sound more serious than normal, do you need a cuddle

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I charge for "cuddles".}

Can't understand how some fans think signing lukaku for 25-30 mill would be reasonable.Yes he is young but c'mon it's all this next Drogba/Belgium hype it's added an extra 10 mill to his price tag. I think we could find better for 10-15 mill someone with a bit more flair. Maybe Aboubakar from Lorient
Or Morata on a permanent deal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes I totally agree le 12 mill and then maybe appearance add ons . good post lewblue tp.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2014 16:30:24
Okay lew, if its added an extra 10m to his price tag then you think he is worth 15-20m? May I just point out football has changed, young players are going for huge amounts, lucas moura at 19 for 30m, hazard at 21 for 32m, gotze for over 35m and illaramendi for over 30m, morata would cost (on a permanent deal) over 15m and I don't think they would sell him, we couldn't get him on loan as it would ruin our relationship with barcelona (which I have pointed to you three times now) and he doesn't have more 'flair' than lukaku, flair is how excited you get when someone is on the ball like mirallas, mcgeady or doofy loofy, hell even centre backs like david luiz and thiago silva are exciting because of the passes they can do, players like suarez, ronaldo, barkley and dembele are exciting because they can go past players like they are not there, morata is an out and out striker who has everything but so does lukaku only lukaku has it more, no offence mate you seem like a nice kid but it seems like you're basing everything off youtube or fifa, you said we should buy a player who you admitted you have never watched and said we should buy him back (bily) just because of his shots, I'm not having a go I'm really not, I look at players like morata and think 'I would love him here', I've watched him a lot and I really rate him but we have a good relationship with barcelona (which bobby has said in a podcast you can find on followtonians, great interview) and this is why I doubt players like christian tello will go to liverpool and why I doubt morata would join on loan, it is helping out a rival, which would mean barcas youngsters would go somewhere else and likely not develop properly like they will here and means we cannot benefit from the talented youngsters they have, sorry if it feels like I'm having a go mate I'm really not its just these things have a slim to nil chance of happening if at all

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Mike, your point about us being unable to get Morata on loan because we'd burn bridges with Barca is invalid and complete tosh. If Barcelona like the way Martinez plays football, and the manner in which he nurtures youngsters then I'm pretty sure they wouldn't distance themselves from us just for taking one of Madrid's youngsters on loan. It would just be a completely childish and ignorant thing to do, but somehow I don't think that is how Barcelona is run.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2014 17:32:29
Okay maybe ruining the relationship wouldn't happen so I will move on to the next reason why it won't happen, if you have arsenal chasing you and they need a striker so it is guaranteed first team football plus other big teams chasing you, you do not choose everton, think about it, title challenging still in champions league arsenal where you are guaranteed to play every week or europa league challenging everton where you are guaranteed to play second fiddle to lukaku unless he gets injured, its simple you choose arsenal and its even more unlikely we could buy him, well I'd love him to join as would most evertonians but think about this bitterblue, who actually cares? Whoever we get in we'll support I just think it is unlikely morata would join, its more likely for dean ashton to come out of retirement and play left wing than morata joining us, reading my post back, you're right, its very unlikely barcelona would stop loaning us players just because we took a real madrid youngster on loan, but again I just think its very unlikely and tbh as long as we get a decent striker in I couldn't give a tin of shark sh*te about who it is

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea I agree with you there Mike, I think he'd probably go to the Gunners as well. The thing about football is, you never know what to expect. Never in a million years did I think we'd get Deulofeu or Lukaku but we got them! Nice one for not taking my post the wrong way as well, usually when you disagree with people on this site they get really defensive so cheers Mike.

I understand the RS have just concluded some commercial deal to include a Dunkin Donuts across the park. Real class that. but with American owners, what would you expect?
The real question concerns their manager however. Will Big Brenda succumb to temptation and then be known as Bigger Brenda?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Second rate like everything they do Krispy Kreme is what you want

Agree0 Disagree0

They're pumping money into the club though. If they pumped enough into us I'd buy a dunkin donut every game

Thankfully we're not in the position that Hull are but if we were fighting against relegation and Red Bull offered us £70m but we'd have to become Everton Blue Bulls, what would you chose?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - There is so many jokes about that name for the team and your name I don't even know where to start! Do you work in the porn industry?}

Caught between a rock and a hard place, Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

I am Thai I believe if each other cannot agreed so taking over won't happen.I have supported team for 31 years. No need to team to change name even guessing big investor from my hometown.

Agree0 Disagree0

No way would I ever sell my soul for 40 pieces of silver. I'd sooner watch us in the Skrill prem than lose our history and identity. We are Everton and we'll be Everton for ever! Everton fans are not for sale!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Sitea - the Thai local teams encourage investment by opening themselves up to sponsorship much better than we do. For example Bangkok Glass. They have more than 10 sponsors on their shirts. Now I'm not saying that Everton tops should look like formula 1 suits but a second sponsor, perhaps on the back or shirt sleeves, could bring in extra revenue

Agree0 Disagree0

BG.is one of Singha Group mate. This group has many brands. Very ashame they want to put brand on 1 shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to disappoint but I'm not a porn star

{Ed007's Note - Don't worry, fluffers are never the star of the show ;)

I realyl hope that we make a good signing or two this month we sold players like Rodwell and should of had that for McCarthy and Kone and this summer we sold anicebe and fellaini and now jelavic for around 40m so we should reall be brining in a st for 10-25m and after we sell johnny a cb for around 5-15m.

Possible st:
Michy batyishi
Hernandez
Luis Muriel
Carlos vela
Lukaku on a full
Antonine griezmenn

Possible cb-
Vermanlen
Inigo Martinez
Curtis Davies
Steven caulker

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not possible we had the Rodwell money still there for McCarthy, with clubs in a similar position to us we don't have between 15-40mil lying round

Agree0 Disagree0

If we did have 40m and they were all willing to come.
Martins indi would be a good CB choice for 5m
Lukaku/muriel would be my choice for about 25m
That would leave 10m for a deep CM maybe Xhaka
Then ince for minimal compensation

And then I woke up
