Personally, i am disapointed about Fellaini's three match ban, but he did deserve it. For now, i would have Ross Barkley playing in the CAM role because he is more attacking minded than hitzelspurger and is quite a tall player himself.

I am happy becos i thought it was gna be at least six i would play naismith in is natural position behind jellyman

Lewis holtby will be on the bosman list in 2013 surely as a boyhood everton fan he would take us into consideration the most as long as we can offer the wage he would like

Believable2 Unbelievable2

His dad was a childhood everton fan and still is! lewis supported Arsenal as a boy

Agree0 Disagree0

The secon poster, no he wasn't. Lewis Holtby was an Everton fan as a child, he has stated so by saying 'my dad infected me with the Everton bug as a young child and I have been a follower ever since.' Also nothing has changed, he is still an Everton fan. His only ties to Arsenal are that they were his favorite team along with Everton when he was younger.

Who do you think are favs for top 4.I think if we finish above spurs we get it.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Arsenal have to be favourites for 4th, they've been there on a consistent basis for the last decade or so. Though they don't look like the side they once were, they're still favourites. Obviously I'd love us to get it, and I believe we'll be in the mix if we get a few in January and can produce our usual strong finish.

Can't condone Felli's behaviour but Stoke are a total disgrace. A terrible footballing team who dish it out week in week out. It was a clash of heads with Shawcross, it wasn't a double compound fracture of the tib and fib - seen that before at the Britannia Stadium!

Nostrawigus {Ed025's Note - they are very effective at spoiling a game nostra...its their fans i feel sorry for mate, imagine watching that week in week out!..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Giv it a rest, ther is plenty of ways to play football, stoke are agressive but play within the rules,i dnt like people puttin down the way they play,in fairness, they dnt dive and cheat and wen they get fouled ,they get on wit it,felli deserves wat he got, true blue, efc 4 life {Ed025's Note - i agree that felli got what he deserved true...but to say they dont cheat, is far from the truth mate..pulling shirts, manhandling opponents, and not to mention the odd elbow, is hardly the beautiful game..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes ed,true but most teans do it,ive seen heitenga at it myself and chelsea players always at it too, stoke find away to bully teams and it works, they dnt have the skill players to take on the top teams,i think the buck stops wit refs, inconsitency, {Ed025's Note - i agree mate, if they took a stand, and booked players and gave penalties against offenders, it would soon stop!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed025, please don't feel sorry for stoke fans, I live in stoke and can tell you they are a nightmare! They spend all their time telling me how they play better football than us and not one blue would get in their side. If they aren't rattling on about that they are going on about how they love being hated but as soon as you say you find them awful to watch and you hate them take massive offence! They genuinely think they are a bigger club than everton an it drives me mad having to defend us all the time! Your right though no excuse for fellaini, he's lucky coz the ban could have been alot worse!

Funny how when lfc moan about stokes style of play and thuggery we get told to shut up and get on with game and for being crying so and so's boots on the other foot now btjs

Lucky escape for Fellaini today, lets hope he learns from it. Can't see us letting him go in January for anything less than 30 million and I really can't see Chelsea buying him considering their manager will only be there til summer. I'd like to see us bring in Jack Butland along with a decent striker such as Gameiro or Loic Remy, I genuinely think we will have some money to play with in January. We can spend money to get in the Champions League and recoup it if we fail and Fellaini goes in summer...

Either way after the start to the season we've had I'm sure we will all have a great Christmas!

All this Felli talk..... The FA are spot on for a change.
MH said he saw 2 out of 3 (Aint bad - Meat loaf)
Felli was being attacked from the start.
I don't condone the Headbutt, but at least the ref saw the rest as fair game.
Shawcross was an utter disgrace to football that day. He man handled everyone, He'd of manhandled his MUM if he had the chance.
Stoke tried to kick seven shades of shizz out of us and to say it was a physical game, 1 yellow?!?!

Flip stock, they got played at their own game and couldn't handle it......

We'll miss the hairy one but we can handle it.

Read the Daily Star yesterday and apparently Hernandez is unhappy with the amount of playing time he's receiving at Utd. Now I'm not saying we're interested but surely we at least have to look at his situation. I think he's a top, top striker and I believe we might be able to land him for 12-15 million. Given game time I believe this lad could be a goal machine. I really hope we try to sign him. What's everyone else's opinion?

BitterBlue {Ed025's Note - all the ED,s are of the opinion, that he is a great impact substitute, but as a starter, is less than impressive...there is no doubt the guy has talent bitter, but at that price i would want a finished article mate..

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Yea I can see where you're coming from there Ed, I just think he might be worth a go.

I'm an admirer of Di Santo at Wigan, talented striker good in the air with exceptional ball skills and pace.
His contract ends in June and a deal, maybe involving Anichebe, would probably cost very little.
He reminds me of Sharpy but a yard or two faster, really think he's an Everton type of player.

Only 3 game ban for Fellaini then. We SHOULD have enough to overcome West Ham and Wigan, however, Chelski could be a different proposition

Think if Fellaini gets a nine match ban he will go to a team outside the uk, just a thought, hope not..............

TC {Ed025's Note - i dont expect it to be any more than a 3 game ban tc.. eric cantona only got 8 weeks for his kung fu kick..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Credit to Mark Halsey, one of the better refs I feel, for saying he saw 2 of the incidents and acknowledging they were not worthy of cautions. 3 matches is fair I feel for that 'headbutt'. It wasn't exactly a full on impact, but still I don't condone his actions. {Ed025's Note - but if halsey done his job right in the first place, and warned that rugby outfit from the start, then there would not have been an incident...saying that it was a really stupid thing to do..

Agree0 Disagree0

And even then man utd managed to get maximum publicity from it by making sure cantona got involved in some community work, teaching under privilged kids how to play football or something. maybe we could do something similar with felli. anybody got any suggestions for a suitable punishment? {Ed025's Note - cut his hair off...and stuff 1000 pillows at alder hey..

I think it would be best if we leave the Felli comments guys. What's done is done. And lets be consistent if not fair here. We don't talk Ill of our great players. Big Dunc is a pure hero to us all but he didn't exactly play every game without either punching some one or trying to strangle the German chap. ( freiond I think)

He is a quality player who will be vilified in the press for the next month over this. They don't need our help.

Feel extremely let down by Fellaini. A one off elbow/headbutt can be put down to heat of the moment etc etc. However he could quite easily have been sent off 3 times, his behaviour was absolutely disgraceful and he has let everyone at our club down. He angered me recently by saying that if we get Champions League this season he'll stay. Oh how very generous and thoughtful of you to say so. Has a good start to a season for the first time in his career with us and he suddenly thinks he is Lionel Messi.

A great player that i would be gutted if he left, but he has a lot to do to make it up to us. Getting in the Top 4 and winning the FA Cup would certainly be a way of saying sorry.

Its hard as a dad to explain to my 8yr old son why Fellaini acted in this way, how many kids have got fellaini wigs, he is the idol and meant to be a role model for youngsters.

Robbie {Ed025's Note - tell him he was standing up for himself robbie, he was being bullied, and was not prepared to accept it....sounds better than he was knob head who lost his self discipline mate..

FELLI will be a marked man by refs now he wont be allowed to even blink maybe we should cash in now. {Ed025's Note - so long as he uses his head (and not in a butting sense) he will be fine...never sell your best players i say..

Yes Stoke played a tight game, and yes defenders were boxing him in and hanging on him like red and white drapery, but Felly looked like he was running in cement shoes the entire match. I think he had an off day like any player can, but the head butt.... Some of you folks are right that Moyes and the Blues need to see how they fare without Felly for a few....

Gotta have some respect for your manager coming out and saying what he did about Fellaini, don't see that kind of unbiased honesty often from a manager about their own player. I didn't see it to judge what happened, I'm not bothered either to be honest, it doesn't effect my team, but good on Moyes. Also congrats on the great (nearly) first half of the season...be nice to have some sort of Merseyside representation in the CL!
