Neville is staying put, Rodwell will go to United if not this year then the next, Danny Wellbeck possible loan deal for one season to gain experience. Wes Brown deal looks to be moving closer after SSN report He has rejected Sunderland in favour of a North West club most likely us but possibly Blackburn.

It all seems to have gone very quiet on here from the Villa fans who kept posting that David Moyes was "nailed on" to be the next Villa boss. I got loads of stick for ridiculing the idea. In fact, one fan posted that he had seen Moysie shaking hands with Lerner outside Villa Park. Well, I imagine to a Brummie that one red haired Scotsman looks like another!! Don't be too disheartened, Villa fans. It could have been worse, you could have ended up with Benitez!!

i think we should go for a striker like djalo with the sale money from yak yobo pienar vaughan and bks money.

then get larssin on a free vicente on a free and swp then we have our winger.

we could also try and sell billy who i think can be good next season andbuy kylewalker for 6mill hed be briliant attacking right back for us hes immence

Ed, can you give us your thought (postives and negatives) on the following players and theyre likelihood of coming to Goodindon.

Bothroyd
Shane Long
Demba Ba
N'Zogbia
Seb Larsson
Sturridge
Do you think there there any players that have gone under the radar, likely to sign? {Ed011's Note - I like them all on that list. I would like N'zogbia and sturridge, i think we are more likely to get n'zogbia and maybe bothroyd or ba. We need a pineaar replacement and a striker. Although ross barkley is breaking through as a very promising player, he is apparantly top notch

Im a Newcastle fan and to hear Everton fans post Demba Ba will be joining a smaller club is laughable. Yes you have had better success in the last five seasons but there is no way you are a bigger club than us. We have a bigger ground, more passionate fans, bigger and better stadium, Qualified for the Uefa Champions league four times playing the likes of barca, inter, juventus etc. We have also been to a Uefa cup semi-final in 2006-7. Please dont get it into your head that you are a biiger club than the Toon. {Ed016's Note - We are more succesfu, more trophies, a lot more history, Newcastle has one team in its city so naturally everyone there supports you but liverpool has two teams so its divided.Everton got past semi finals and won the uefa cup in 84-85. Newcastle one of the biggest clubs in the world but so are everton.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Newcastle have also been relegated recently

Agree6 Disagree0

Bigger ground, yes, more chance of Newcastle winning something in the next couple of seasons, no! There is no point in talking about who has won what, because lets be honest both clubs havent won anything in years. If you think playing in the champions league is the sign of a big club you are easily pleased. A big club is a club that wins titles and trophies. What Everton offer that a lot of clubs can't, is a stable ownership, brilliant manager who has been in the job nearly 10 years. A decent squad, brilliant academy and a phenomenal support. What do Newcastle offer, a clown of a chairman, a different manager every couple of months, an average squad, half decent academy and too be fair a very loyal support. Demba Ba is very similar to a lot of modern footballers, he wants as much money as possible. I would like to highlight the fact that he failed a medical at Stoke before he joined West Ham, because of a very suspect knee problem. Newcastle and West Ham have a long history of signing overpriced, overpaid duds so he should fit right in. Just one last point, if you are such a big club, why on earth did Kevin Nolan leave you to join a team in the Championship??

COYD

Agree7 Disagree0

If Mike Ashley could swap his whole team and manager for Everton's he would!

Agree4 Disagree0

Geordie fan, dont think so mate, everton are a bigger club than newcastle and ddep down you know it. more successfull more trophies and far more respected as a club, no offence to you as a fan but in the last 10 years newcastle fc has been some sort of a lauging stock in the premiere league, wasting over a hundred million quid, you ahev the worst manger job in the world changing managers every season, sometimes even 2 managers per season and then of course relegation, we are a much more stable club and you know it. if i have told a lie then please correct me but you know im right! {Ed016's Note - Go on my son!

Agree7 Disagree0

What about Sunderland?????????????? and why would he join newcastle when he has a risk of playing

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't make me laugh you person toon!

What do you judge a club on? what they have won - what have your shower ever won!?

Behave...

Agree2 Disagree0

Everton are in the top 5 most succesful english teams of all time, we have not been relegated for over a century never mind just one season. everton have won many times the trophies newcastle have won. the only thing big about newcastle is the ground, everything else about your club is pretty poor to be honest a championship class manager, an owner who has no passion for the club what so ever, players who are happy to leave and oweners who are happy to sell, youve just sold your two best players carrol to liverpool and nolan to west ham a championship team, youve been in the premier league one season and have a pretty poor history and at this time awful team the best evidence of this is the fact that your best player is tiote or barton they are hardly first rate

Agree4 Disagree0

To all you newcastle fans screw you youre not fit to wipe our boots you bunch of dim wits ha ha

Agree4 Disagree0

Everton are much bigger club than Newcastle fact mike ashley is a douche

Agree4 Disagree0

16 Jun 2011 15:03:13
Everton targets Demba Ba and Charles Nzogbia will both snub Everton choosing the bigger club Newcastle {Ed016's Note - Clearly either a Newcastle fan or a norwegian, sorry i mean liverpool fan -Everton are a bigger club with a smaller stadium - Much more history and success

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Oh right newcastle are rubbish
sell the best player to championship side is shocking

Agree3 Disagree0

16 Jun 2011 14:16:03
DEMBA BA is stupid if he joins newcastle, surely he can c all ther decent players r leaving.

wud like to say defo take 20mil for rodwell, he was awful last night.

what u think ed??? {Ed016's Note - I thought rodwell should of stayed on a henderson took off yesterday. Henderson did nothing at all rodwell was composed on the ball at least, did seem a bit frightened to recieve though. It depends though do we want to keep our most promising young player? Demba Ba - Im suprised he is going to newcastle.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jun 2011 13:58:07
so ba off to newcastle, we will always loose out to smaller teams beacuase of wages, we need to bite the bullet and shell out a little more or we will be slipping lower down the league every season. cahill, saha, osman, neville, distin ect.. do not have long left and we need a bigger more quality squad, fast! i honestly think we will loose out on nzogbia and long, i can see it a mile off, i hope i am wrong but it looks like the only stiker we will bring in is bothroyd and that will be a real shame, come on you blues, sort it out!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Im a Liverpool fan But NO WAY ARE NEWCASTLE A SMALLER TEAM THAN EVERTON. Bigger fanbase, stadium, passionate fans. Qualified for europe many more times etc {Ed016's Note - May be a biased opinion on my account but we actually have more history and success than newcastle. Sure the stadium and fanbase but newcastle has a population of 350k and only one club. Liverpool has a population of roughly 500k (according to google) with two big clubs, Everton and Liverpool so liverpool is divided support between EFC and LFC.

Agree5 Disagree2

Mate 2-1

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jun 2011 12:39:17
I think osman can play a big role next season, he was great in the 2nd half of last season and for me rivalled bainsey for player of the season {Ed011's Note - He was quality

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Osman should always be considered for first team football at Everton, for years people have rated him not up to standards and he continues to prove every single one of them wrong year in year out. COYB!

Agree1 Disagree1

Osman's good, but where is his natural position, and who does he push out?
If you go 4-4-2 then you usually want 2 out and out forwards upfront (central midfield is already full) is he really an out and out right winger? He's better than coleman there, but is he champions league standard at that position? (where we're aiming). Even though I like him, I think he's first sub if everyone else is fit.
I'm hoping for a lot this year from Magaye Gaye. If beckford and gaye move up a gear with added experience we may do a bit better, but at least one better quality forward (winger or striker) would be nice. Two would be great. I don't think we're far off a really good team. It would be a same if penny pinching meant we missed out on a chance to get into the top four.
If we don't do it soon, some of our better players will get itchy feet.

Agree2 Disagree0

Typical Norgewians fans think that they are class but they are s**t 20 millon for Jordan Henderson rodwell is worth than that to be honest lol liverpool third kit is blue

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jun 2011 12:20:31
If there is no projected transfer kitty, securing the likes of Reo-Coker or Larsson, for instance on a 1 or 2 year deal would not do us any harm! Utility players who dont command laughable wages and are of good pedigree. Recruitment of another striker is also crucial. {Ed011's Note - There is no way moyes wouldn't sign a striker, we are in desperate need of a goalscorer

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed. Cannot guarantee Saha will stay on the pitch long enough. Proven or potential goalscorers don't come cheap nowadays. Any REAL possibilities other than Bothroyd?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ba and Long are two other possibilities in recent reports (but it seems Ba wages are a little too much for Everton).

Personnally there are two other strikers that I would love to see in blue next year, and I hope Moyes will look at: Firstly, Djibril Ciss , who has been excellent in the last two seasons in Greece and according to the press he could leave Pana for 5-6 million. Secondly, Jelle Vossen, best scorer in Belgium this year. He is a very good frontman, I think he could easily find his place in Premier League. But his price could be a little higher, if I remember well Genk ask something in the region of 8-10 millions(wich could be a problem, apparently Everton already can't find this amount for N'zogbia)... {Ed016's Note - Good shout - Yannick Djalo also looks good for me, Jelvalic from rangers? Apparently i have been told that gignac (french international) not sure what club, is only valued at 10-12m He looks good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jelvalic is not quality {Ed016's Note - what i saw of him he looked it, but cannot say i watched every game.

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree for Gignac. He had a good season a couple of years ago (he scores around 17 goals in his last year in Toulouse if I remember), but since he moved to Marseille he's done absolutly nothing. I don't think Everton need a "second Yakubu"...

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2011 12:00:47
seen a lot of people teams on here with players we may get. how can any of them not include timmy cahill? he is our biggest goal threat and one of our most hard working players. COYB!!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I don't think cahill links well with the other forward. Cahill ends up getting 12 goals a season and his strike partner ends up with 5 - 7. Look what happened when Cahill went to play for australia in January. We had to try two others upfront, and they started to score. Before that Cahill was getting one goal every two games and no one else was scoring. So we kept losing by one goal.
Cahill always puts Australia first, cos he thought he was automatic selection for blues, so he was surprised when he got put on bench on his return and we did better without him.

CM: Maroune Fellani
LM: Charles N'Zogbia (Around £8 million)
CAM: Tim Cahill
ST: Shane Long (£5.5 millon)

Sub: Jack Rodwell

Believable1 Unbelievable8

To the 4 people who didn't like the team i said i would love to see could you please reply to this post about what you didn't like about the team
i'm just interested to see what you would do different

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry matey your valuations are WAY out
Scott Dann would cost 12 M (stoke just put that much on table)
Adam would cost roughly the same
Sturridge would cost 20 M at least
and if you want to swap Bendtner and Clichy for Baines...... You must be daft. {Ed016's Note - Adam would be 7-9m sturridge 17m at max.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't know wat sturridge would cost and all of the valuations are based on some of the rumours i've seen on this website
also swapping Baines for clichy and bendtner was another rumour that i saw on this site
i really wanted to know wat you thought of the team and who you would buy instead of any1 i have listed not whether you thought the valuations were correct or incorrect

Hi Ed, with the Demba Ba looking like he will be on his way to Newcastle what other striker do you think Moyes will be looking at. I would love to see Shane Long come in and Danny Sturridge on a permanent basis as a temporary fix isnt the answer but just cant see us getting the money. I fear we may just end up with someone like Jay Bothroyd. I know Beckford did well last year and Moyes is known for his finding of gems in the lower leagues but i just cant see Bothroyd doing the business. What do you think? {Ed016's Note - Bothroyds on a free and his wages would not be very high, Shane long would be 5-6 million and i think he isnt bad. Danny Sturridge i think is a class act and would fit into everton setup, although its gonna be a high price tag. I think its likely Bothroyd and Long. You never now with Demba Ba though, yesterday everton were looking likely, have to wait for confirmation.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jun 2011 10:36:38
My source tells me the Ba deal has collapsed and we are looking to sign Shane Long instead. We need to sell Yobo and Yakabu to raise funds for Nzogbia however if Villa do appoint Mcleish he will be looking to make Nzogbia his first signing as Villa manager.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

16 Jun 2011 10:19:16
Everton could potentially have over £40m to spend this season on player providing we sell players such as:

Mucha - 750k
Bilyaletdinov - 6m
Yobo - 5m
Fellaini/Rodwell - 20m (hopefully Rodwell)
Yakubu - 5m
Pienaar - 3m
Anichebe - 2m

= £41.75m

Bring in:
N'zogbia - 9m
Charlie Adam - 5m
Long - 4m
Welbeck - 3m
Demba Ba - FREE
Bothroyd - FREE

then there is still money left in the kitty for summer.

Not saying this is true but what does everyone think?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Charlie Adam would cost atleast 10mil and the mancs are looking at bidding 12. Would like to see N'Zogbia and Shane Long(good hard working striker with an eye for a goal)

I think Ba and Beckford would be very potent strikeforce next season, with Saha being used sparingly

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I think Sturridge and Beckford would be better, then super Saha as back up. I would also like Scott Sinclair as he is very gifted. Vincente on a free would be good buisness
