I think Beckford could score 20 this season, i think he is only going to get better and better and his work rate is improving as well.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Beckford and saha would be a fantastic partnership, the problem is keeping saha fit. Beckford scored some cracking goals last season and hopefully he will continue to improve

time for yak to move on. He had a good game against Bury, worked hard, took his goal well but you would think he would bully a third flight defense and he didn't really. It has been suggested that yak and yobo could go to wigan as part of the n'zogbia deal

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Moyes wouldn't give yak a look in last season, moyes won't have him as part of his plans for this season unless he can't offload him and even then moyes will probably use him as a bit part player

Im a massive Blues fan from South Africa, and yes my story about Sven Gorran Eriksson was true but anyway this isnt about that.
i was angry at the lack of transfers, but they will come whether they be big, small or loans. What does annoy me is the Kitbag deal. In my opinion it would be more beneficial to Everton and its fans to sell merchandise at reputed sports stores worldwide. The likes of Manc, Arses, Red Shte and even Spurs are huge in Africa and the sales of their merchandise here are immensely profitable (as they are everywhere else too). To my horror, it is even possible to buy a Newcastle or Stoke jersey in South Africa but an Evers one doesnt exist. We need to be a global team (there are many fans, but the odd fan group here isnt good enough) and the club can't only rely on global fans purchasing online (as i have done). We have sponsors from Thailand but authentic jerseys can't be sold from retailers there? Ridiculous.
But on a better note, everyday i am pressured into supporting a 'bigger' team, because in Africa the 'smaller' teams dont mean anything. And everyday i refuse. Nobody here understands. Everton is not just a club, it's a family. And i may not be born in Merseyside, i may not have seen them win the FA Cup while i've followed them, but i am a part of that family. Win, lose or draw, i love the blues and wish to one day be at Goodison Park with my vuvuzela (as soon as u Brits get rid of that silly ban haha). So dont be dispondent or negative, our day will come sooner than you think.

No one will sign for Everton unless a player is sold as we all know, Moyes doesn't want to sell anyone so until Kenwright is out you'll be only be going down hill.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

We have a very good squad, with what we have got we would get top 8, we just need an extra striker and we will do well next season and with the youngsters coming through there is reason for optimism

Agree3 Disagree1

Everton will never go down hill under moyes, he is one of the best managers in the premiership and we have a core of class players.

Agree5 Disagree0

As long as we hold on to baines, jagielka, rodwell, fellaini and arteta and sign a striker we will do well next season, even if the striker is on loan

boy I have supported our beloved club, however I am growing sick and tired of the continual lack of funds and lack of transfer activity made available to us.

Elstones latest Blog left me fuming his continual lack of disrespect and distain he has towards us the fans/supporters who have kept him in a job.
all we have ever asked for is honest and truthfull responses to questions that we are entitled to ask.
where is the money?
are we buying anyone ?
and if so, who and when?,
questons he constantly persists to evade, keep us in the loop for goodness sake man.

he mentioned it is difficult to find funds due to not filling the stadium well this season I and many evertonians I know have decided not renew our families season tickets due to the lack of transfer activity over the last 18 months, Elstone seems to forget one of the reasons we buy our tickets is to see new faces at our club each transfer window in the hope it will aid DM get us into european football, Don't get me wrong DM has done an absolutley fantastic job with what he has had to work with but we are a club were our motto is nothing but the best is good enough.....a motto that Elstone fails to live upto.

Elstone has signed us up to a deal with kitbag worth a pittance (£10m over 3yrs) in comparison to what the likes of tottenham have done (£25m over 3 yrs with a renogation clause should a better offer come they could consider it) the deal with kitbag adds no commercial sense if it was worthwhile why haven't other clubs already done it.....Reality is the impulse purchase that we all have has been taken away from us and yet every other supporter up and down the country nd the world for that matter can buy a RS, Manc, Chelski, or Arsenal shirt from any good retailer that is how you see kids wearing these shirts all over the world today....But not us we have to resort to buying online (where people are reluctant to spend money in case of fraud or they don't possess a credit card in the first place) or they have to purchase them from the Everton outlets stores of which there is only 2 in the world, meaning our fan base is being localised and therefore deminishing and therefore no growth outside merseyside.
Idiotic, brainless and pure comercial suicide in my opinion alienating our fanbase outside of merseyside to impulse buy.

Elstone has said he meets evertonians every day......Who are these evertonians, my opinion is they are probably 10 year old kids who are more interested in an autograph than asking questions

sorry for the rant folks, but as an evertonian are we really expected to sit back and say nothing about how our club is being run.

in conclusion my opinion is RE Should F**k off back to chasing eggs (Rugby league).

DM.....good luck for the coming season I would love to be there with you but it sickens me to say "I for one have had as much as I can take, and will no longer suffer the ineptitude of the hierarchy at goodison park" I will continue to support you from afar but until a new board is in place I will not be renewing my families season tickets, Sorry.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Evertonians will not be happy till we are challenging the best teams in the league, we won't settle for second best and we want to keep on improving, lets not panic till the 1st september when the transfer window closes, moyes is shrewd in the transfer market and he can get the best out of his players.

Agree3 Disagree1

We want the our business concluded well before the deadline too allow the team to bond and gel in the freindlies we have so we don't get off to another slow start.

Saha has stated what a special player gueye is, i believe he will be one to watch next season. We have some great youngsters coming through.

Anichebe was great on the wing against city last season, it may be the better position for him next season if he stays

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Anichebe did play well against city, but his level is the championship and not for us if we want to get top 6

Ive said a few days go I know lots of fans who wont renew the season tickets because of the lack of financial backing into the team. We just to needto make a decent signing and a couple of loans which would encourage the fans again.
I think Elstone got the job by default as our last chief exec walked out. These guys are on mega dough but cant seem to obtain any investment. The reason there crap at their jobs and are yes men for BK.
It just lack of planning and vision by the whole board. Elstone and Bk would last 10 minutes on the apprentice.

Everton Fans deserve better we want at least two strikers, and a winger.

The blue Don

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I agree, last nights performance was encouraging, but we need new faces to add the quality we need to challenge for top 6. Lets get a good start and keep everyone fit and we will do well again, i wonder if we will move for shane long.

Agree2 Disagree1

With the upmost respect here, we hear nothing from the club regarding finances. so how do you know season ticket sales are down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sorry, i can't agree with that I am equally as annoyed as the next evertonian but you should support our team no matter what, in my opinion you should be ashamed to call yourself a evertonian
I understand its your hard earned money but i would never turn my back on my beloved everton....... BLUE TILL I DIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets get behind the blues, we will do well again under moyes and we proved in the second half of last season we can match up to the top teams

Arteta looks back and ready and raring to go, he will be great for us next season and give us more creativity and a few goals as well, with a settled run in the team

Believable2 Unbelievable2

When arteta plays well our team really ticks, he has great creativity and we saw flashes of his brilliance against sunderland and newcastle last season

Agree1 Disagree0

Arteta is our most creative player, this is a big season for him, we need him fit and ready for a run in the team

yakubu looked happy last night. i had a feeling some time a go that he could be our suprise for this season and come good

Believable3 Unbelievable3

16 Jul 2011 16:45:34
Season ticket sales are down this year but the club already last season took it for granted our loyal fan base would renew no questions asks. So how are the club going to claw them lost funds back? Even less money for the manager to spend. I'm certainly not blaming the supporters for decisions they make regarding decisions buying tickets, I'm not blaming groups who want to out the board as supporters of our club we all are entitled to an opinion, but by not renewing attending games or buying merchandise it's Everton that suffer.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

One decent signing and a loan signing and the fans will be on board again. If we have a good start i believe we will have a very good season and it will be exciting seeing which youngsters make the grade next season. Gueye looks a great prospect {Ed034's Note - nice to see some optimism and i agree

Agree5 Disagree0

Our fans are the best in the league, however they wont take any more crap kenwright has to go he is a disgrace and please take youre useless directers with you.Elstone has to go as well. The club is run really badly.

Agree5 Disagree0

We don't need massive riches, just in the region of 15 mill for each transfer window to boost our squad

Agree3 Disagree1

16 Jul 2011 16:39:02
I feel like driving to Goodison and putting a big f**K off banner on the stadium reading "Elstone, you arrogant pr**k, go back to rugby league coz your about as usefull as a chocolate teapot".

Believable5 Unbelievable0

That will really help won't it. Moyes will get it right next season with his injured players back and maybe a couple of loan signings. Top 7 maybe better if we get off to a good start

Agree2 Disagree3

We have a very good squad with everyone fit and hopefully no injury crisis next season and i agree we will do well

Agree3 Disagree3

16 Jul 2011 16:30:09
I get the impression Moyes has kept his job this long because he doesn't challenge the board for more funds, and the board are happy to stick with Moyes during bad runs because of this. I'm sure Bill would love to give Moyes more funds but he just doesn't have it, and I cant honestly see an investor willing to plough cash into the club with Kenwright still making the decisions.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

16 Jul 2011 16:26:42
Many Evertonians will say that Sunderland are spending money, West Brom are spending money, Stoke are spending money; but consider for a minute, aren't they only spending money to get to our level?
Do you think they have any big players on big contracts such as the sums of money that we pay Saha, Cahill, Arteta, Heitenga; I think not.
So when Everton look at their finances and what is available, a large (and I would suggest a very large) proportion pays for the top players we currently have and once these lesser clubs have reached our level, maybe....just maybe, they will face the problems that we are facing now?

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Not with our current board, they are silently crucifying our club

Agree0 Disagree0

Brilliant post. I was watching yesterday when they mentioned Stoke had a 40k salary cap that was stopping them from being able to sign Carton Cole.

We have several players being paid considerably more yet some of our fans seem to be unable to realise that is where the money is going.

It's not a case of the board taking the money or not giving it to Moyes, it's a case of we have or are starting to reach our limit on what the board are prepared to spend on wages without putting the clubs long term future at risk.

I would agree with fans who are critical of the fact that we are still no way nearer to financing a new stadium. I think having approved plans for a new stadium would entice a big investor to buy the club.

I don't think that we are marketed very well nationally or globally but I may be unfair in a way as I imagine it's the retailers who dictate what products they wish to stock and until Everton are successfull enough to attract new fans that may continue to be a problem.

Sorting out a new stadium is the key to our future and finding a suitable investor as well as generating extra funds for playerswages.

I personally wouldn't be oppossed to a building a new stadium in partnership with Liverpool. It would solve the issue of the council having to find two seperate sites and better the sizefacilities of the stadium if both clubs grouped their resources together so that the merseyside teams can compete more with the manchesterlondon clubs.

*Whiteshadow*

Agree0 Disagree2

The kitbag deal, prevents any retailer purchasing our merchandise which stops the general public impulse buying....we can only buy everton products from 3 sources Kitbag Online, and the 2 everton megastores, this is localising our product so in effect we are NOT a global selling brand, eg we cannot even sell our shirts in the local retailers in the far east were Chang our sponsor is massive......Pure Commercial suicide.....Thanks to RE (brainless Numbty) thats why we will never get the income DM needs to buy players, I have said before and will say again we sold our rights to sell shirts in the retailers for £10M over 10 year yet tottenham sell theres for £25m for 3years, , , work it out RE is a w**k when it comes to buisiness, he just wants to talk political bull and fob us all off.

Some people on these forums are clearly not followers and dnt know the truth about things. For a start saha is only back playin nxt week but doin light training, an isnt being sold. Rodwell is bk nxt week as been given time off since u21s comp for england. We havent bid for nzogbia, and we are not being bought. Some people need to wake up and stop making up crap.... there u go...

Believable10 Unbelievable0

I don't think we will sell any of our big names and we will probably look to bring in loan signings. Billy and heitinga will be the ones sacrificed along with yak and yobo if we need to raise cash for a winger

Agree3 Disagree0

16 Jul 2011 14:39:20
I think everyone should stop attacking B.Kenwright. Ok we dont have money to spend, but he is a lifelong true blue and will always do his best for us. He cant generate money out of fresh air, but even though we have some very valuable players, he isnt cashing in by selling them. (so far anyway). We might not be able to buy but if he sticks to his word and doesnt turn us into a selling club, our existing team is good enough to challenge for europe, maybe 4th place, and a good cup chance. If he sells our players and doesnt give the money to D.Moyes, then let the deserved critisism begin, but for now i have to admire that we look to be spending 10mil on N'zogbia with only fringe players leaving. surely this is good.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

You must be joking you muppet kens**te the blonker out, and so are you

Agree5 Disagree1

Kenwright will be judged at the end of the transfer window, lets not panic there is plenty of time left to bring in transfers and loans, with our injured players back our squad will be boosted anyway

Agree2 Disagree3

Why haven't even started attacking the board yet......and how long can this squad last with the current crop of 2/3 years max .....and if we don't invest now and continue to invest the youth teams will not be able to draw on the expeirence and advice of the 1st team, all of DM hard work will be wasted because of the boards short sightedness and we will then be known as a selling club because we will have no other option but to sell if we want to survive in the PL who will want to join us then, no mark players who's advice will be worth s**te to the youth.......get real the board are killing us slowly and if we (The fans) don't act know we will regret it in the future.....mark my words.

Yep your right, he is a clown and thats why I or any of my family who are blues are not renewing out tickets due to there inept mismanagement of our club alongside the fact they forget to talk to us, , everything is to hush hush if BK wants to bring back the fans he should hold a behind close doors open day by that i mean NO PRESS where we the fans can ask honest questions and hope we get truthfull responses instead of this political bull the Elstone spouts....

How about offering Everton £20-25 million, Cole, Ngog, Poulsen and Jovanovic for Baines and Rodwell? They need the money and the players... {Ed034's Note - none of them are good enough to get into our team

Believable0 Unbelievable6

We don't buy dirty reds, they are second rate players that belong at anfield

apparently bily was brilliant against bury yesterday becvause he played in the middle i didnt see the game or any highlights but if anyone did could they clarify this because i would be absolutely chuffed to see bily successful and moyes playing him in his proper position and also how did yak and gueye play????????

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Its true, and mikel is looking more than comfortable on the left

And yak scored once and gueye twice

It was good having everyone back fit, moyes could have selection dilemmas next season, especially in midfield

Even without signings the team we have is good enough Ive said this 2 or 3 times on here and no-one agrees

Howard
Neville RB
Jagielka CB
Distin CB
Baines LB

Coleman RM
Feliani CM
Osman CM
Arteta LM

Cahill CF
Yakubu (if fit)/Beckford

Subs

Mucha
Hibbert
Heitinga
Rodwell
Gueye
Saha
Yakubu/Beckford

There's no point in putting a 4-4-2 because for 10 years moyes has hardley used it, he ain't going to change now

I think we should sell bilyaletdinov, he's a good player in my opinion but he hasn't settled and i can't find a place in the team for him.
He simply hasn't fitted into our team, he's not and "everton type player", he's a bit dozy with the ball, weak, doesn't tackle and has no speed so pointless being on the wing, and he is not better than any of our current centre mid's.
I think we should sell him get between 6-8 million and maybe use it to get a striker as i think every top 6 team should have 4 good strikers, we have 3 at the minute in Yakubu, Saha and Beckford.
Anichebe will probably be in moyes squad aswell, but i think 90% of the fans wouldn't have him in the squad.

Don't know what people think of my opinion but more than welcome to disagree.
Looking forward to the season, good start and we can get into the top 6 easy. Got my season ticket last night.... 4 years on the spin now Im in a good mood now and cant wait for the first game
COYB NIL SATIS NISI OPTIMUM

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Yeah your right, that'll put the fear of god in any other Prem team.....

Sooty

Agree1 Disagree0

Top 6 for the blues, as long as we get a striker in shortly

Agree2 Disagree0

I really like that team, but as you said for some crazy reason moyes will find a place for anichebe
Even if its on the bench he will, i never question moyes when so many do (tactics, formation etc) but ive never understood why he has anichebe in the squad
I was even more baffled when he was giving a contract for 20,000 a week rising to 30,000 on apperances last season
Hopefully we do make a signing before the season starts and get a decent start, we can make europe comfortably if the start is as good as how we have finished in the past 3 seasons

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Jul 2011 02:59:08
One player we should look at signing is Hitzlsperger.
He is a free agent at the moment so he wouldn't cost anything and last season with West Ham he looked good even though they were relegated.
He was the only player for them who looked like he deserved to be playing in the premiership(besides Scott Parker of course)

Believable3 Unbelievable2

16 Jul 2011 02:41:18
if i was everton manager i would sell bilyaletdinov, yobo and arteta and bring in shane long to partner beckford, keisuke honda to replace arteta and play him on the wing or centre mid and bring in sebastion coates from nacional before any other team bids for him because he will be a be one of the best centre backs in the future

Believable1 Unbelievable4

16 Jul 2011 02:06:12
I'd be happy with Ossie central with Felli and arteta on the left for next season. Providing we can get a winger in.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Ossie was class again against bury and he was brilliant in the second half of last season, he has to start against spurs

Agree3 Disagree0

------------howard ----------------

Reveillere - distin - jag - bainesy

Osman - Felli - Bily - Arteta

----------cahill-----------

---------Sturridge---------

This is moyes' teamsheet for next year, we will sell rodwell and neville, both to tottenham, altogether we will get 27m and buy sturridge for 15m and then reveillere for 5, then we will have a strong bench with:

Given - hibbert - yobo - b aszczykowski - coleman - saha - beckford

We will buy given for 5m and trade heitinga with b aszczykowski

Agree0 Disagree3

Agree with you there With gueye on the right Or possibly n'zogbia if we get him.

Agree1 Disagree0

Nevilles just signed a new two year contract

Agree1 Disagree0

neville commited future to us
yobo will leave

I think we should sell billy. He's been given enough chances now. I was willing him to step up when Pienaar left but he just didn't do it. We really should sell him this summer, even if we don't sign N'zogbia. I actually think Gueye looks a better prospect than Billy anyway. {Ed034's Note - he doesnt have the speed to be a winger, but i cant see him beating anyone in our midfield, i do think billy is a lot better player than he has shown but if we could get 6 or 7 mil for him i would be happy

Believable3 Unbelievable0

We could use the money to get kranjcar or long maybe.

Agree2 Disagree1

Bily looked quality when he came on today, Osman was top drawer again and Yak is back oh and on top of it all we've made a bid for N'zogbia, good news all round tonight. {Ed034's Note - i never got to see the friendly, but as normal i will stand my Ossie - that lad will retire with us, he is a proper football player as in he will give his all and will never come out into the media even if he wanted to leave. When it comes to billy, i have always liked him but he is not quick enough for a winger and not good enough for our central midfield so i cant see a place for him. Then it comes to nzogbia, dont believe all of the media, moyes has always said to rely on his word an no one else's, however much i would it i just cant see us signing him above villa/newcastle

Agree2 Disagree0

I don't know why we would keep him either.. and i would think that one of the Russian clubs would be interested in a full Russian international should he become available.
Moyes' has obviously lost faith in him, because there were a number of times last year where he was on the bench, even when Fellaini, Arteta and Cahill were out injured. He is always the first hauled off when he does start also. Scoring the odd cracking goal does not make a player, he is too lightweight, too dozy, and doesn't have enough fire in his belly. Yet, somehow for a player who doesn't make a tackle, he has been sent off twice {Ed034's Note - honestly i believe billy is a good player, as in really good. he is not a winger an will never be no matter where the russians play him he is just not quick enough. Next to a CM who wins balls and passes it on i think he would be a cracking attack minded midfielder but we already have that

Agree2 Disagree0

I don't question billys effort. The hard truth could be that he isn't good enough, I think the Prem could be too physical for him. {Ed034's Note - i still stick to my previous comments, he hasn't got a space in our squad due to his lack of speed but sometimes his crosses are unbelievably good if a club used him in the middle with a big CM for protection i think he could be a good player, but he cant fit into our squad with out central midfield

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2011 01:02:10
I would honestly play Yak in all the pre-season games and give up trying to sell him. When he is fit and arsed he is exactly the striker we need. Playing him in all the games a) gets him fit and makes him feel wanted . If he smashes goals in preseason then there is no logic in selling him. He is the proven goalscorer we want and he is already here {Ed034's Note - honestly i dont see the point in selling him for the price we will get, although he isnt a typical everton player, hard working and committed, i do think no striker we could buy would give us as many goals as him.

honestly i think out strike force should be yak.beckford with saha as back up as well as a back up, i can see beckford hitting 15 and yak will always score given the chance

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Yak has had it. You could run him into the ground every day and the gain in fitness would be minimal. His age and past injuries have taken an irreparable toll I'm afraid. Sell to highest bidder. {Ed034's Note - if that highest bidder is only 2 or 3 mill is it worth it? his pace or stamina was never his strong point and if you as me, if you give any striker the ball in the box there is still no better finisher than the yak. if we are going to keep him we need to feed him like we used to, he never made goals on his own he just finished other peoples good work

I find it incredibly sad as a supporter of the club to see so much discontent within it's fan base. Our financial struggles only stand to highlight how corrupt 'our beautiful game' has become.
Paul EFC

Believable2 Unbelievable1

We all want the best for this club, we won't settle till we are challenging the best teams in the league {Ed034's Note - however much we are financially struggling to pay for signings we are not financially struggling as a club compared to others, we have no need to sell out assets to pay for debts. I as much as any fan would like the big signing but if that is at the expense of loosing one of our big players i would rather keep what we have and hit the free + loan market

Agree2 Disagree1

Like all blues, I would love us to be competing for the signatures of world class players, watching a world class team in a world class stadium - but so would the fans of every club. It is time to get real and be grateful that we somehow continue to punch above our weight against all the odds {Ed034's Note - i dont think we are punching above or weight, a lot of clubs are closing in on us but i still think if we played full strength squad against any team in the prem we will prove more than a match, Moyes has done wonders with the budget he has been given but also the players and staff have made a community which a lot of our players want to be a part of, i honestly believe with an in form Yak and by giving Beckford a bit more responsibility we are a top 6 team
