A win for us against Southamton on Monday and if results go our way Sat and Sunday that puts us in a great position. The darkside play Arsenal i Don't know if i should hope they win or not the taught of me even wanting them to win makes me sick but it is one of them games were the result would matter to us if Arsenal lose i know it would also put the darkside in with a little shout of top 4 aswell but they will fade away there not good enough so call it evens and hope for a draw or will we be cheering them on for a win what do you blues think.Stef the blue {Ed025's Note - sorry stef...but I just want them to lose.....I enjoy reading their banter page when the massive Liverpool lose...it's great..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The dark side play norwich arsenal are at chelsea {Ed025's Note - come on Norwich!

Agree0 Disagree0

I want them to lose all the time but if we beat the Saints i will hope for a draw that is even killing me hoping they get a draw, can't blame you though Ed even if a win keeps Arsenal on our tails it is just one of them games that we have to think about.Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

I said if we win monday mate they play Norwich on sat when were playing West Brom there playing Arsenal .Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Be wary about underestimating Saints. Don't think we will find you as difficult as Chelsea, and we are at home.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is why i said if, but i think we will grab all 3 points if we play half as good as we did against Chelsea .Stef the blue

Erm no. We're away. All the way down the south coast on a Monday night.

I thought we might have at least one player in by now but do not fear blues! I'm sure Davey knows what he's doing...Ed do you know if we are interested in M'Vila and Capoue? Is the denial a sign that we may actually be interested? Also what happened to the Milner deal? I know Moyes is in the market for a striker so hopefully we can get about 3 players in before the deadline without selling.

michael johnson from city is a very sad story....but everyone likes to see a riches to rags to riches again story....and unless his physical state is beyond healing, it would be nice to see someone take him in and see if the desire is in the eye to get back to the top....maybe with all the top players at city it seemed too big a mountain to climb. Maybe Everton wouldnt be his next staging post, but it would be nice to see someone wanting to give him a chance.....especially when there is no transfer fee....what is there to lose....if he doesnt shape up he leaves at the end of the testing period alloted. good luck to him

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Agree in principle - in most cases - with giving someone a chance to redeem themselves in life, but the individual must genuinely want to go through the tough steps to do so. Just as it's so easy to spiral downwards, it's much, much more difficult to claw your way back. Also - harsh though it sounds - would the player offer anything better than we already have even if he returned to his best performance level?

With these rumours going round that Diame of west ham has has a buyout clause of 3.5million surly that must be worth ago to sort are midfield out with gibsons Ingres what do people think?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

We are crying out for a strong, athletic centre midfield player imo, and Diame fits the bill. Also I think Moussa Sissoko would be a good signing and I believe his contract is up at the end of the season and would be available fairly cheaply. And, of course, there's Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe and Etienne Capoue who have been linked, the former, heavily. Any of these would be great additions.

hi guys geordie here. Just like to see thank you for the friendly comments on our site XD (Especially to Degsy i think his name is called) i think we have a good relationship with you evertonians. partly because i think newcastle and everton are two similar teams, both building on like a shoestring and have gone through ups and downs in the last decade. Thank you for the comments!

Hi Geordie. Love your city. It reminds me a lot of Liverpool - great buildings, loads of history, proper people willing to stick 2 fingers up at t*ssers who look down their noses at us & top pubs!
Went on a mate's stag night - what a great weekend! Just like being abroad.....scantily dressed women everywhere & no b*gger could understand us!!

just been listening to 5live and they are on about yann mvilla harry is interested ( surprise surprise ) but he is not keen fulham are interested and so are one unnamed premeir league team who want him on loan for the rest of the season with a view to buy, could that be us ed? we know that's how david likes to work and he was linked at the start of the season, what are your thoughts on this ed? also why is it when we are linked with players some people on this site immediately say so and so must be leaving he is his replacement? just because we have one player in a position does not mean we don't want another the idea is to have cover in the squad not just replace people. i noticed a post earlier about the noise levels at goodison it has been better this year but we need that big game noise for every game it would scare the crap out of some teams before they step on to the pitch! remember what delia said your our twelfth man where are you? lets keep it rocking COYB IMWT.......grbefc {Ed025's Note - I would love us to get m,villa grb, he is quality, but a lot of these players are just mercenaries, who the hell would want to go to QPR, unless its for the money?..

Can't find everton denying there interest capoue on ssn

Is this true very rare everton comeout and deny transfer targets they never talk about any transfers

Eddy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's there on the transfer talk {Ed025's Note - loads of talk mate, but that's it at the moment..just talk..

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ed, perhaps I should have articulated it a lot better. Eddy said 'can't find Everton denying interest in capoue on ssn'. What I meant to say, in reply, was that the only place it's been mentioned that we've denied an interest is on the transfer centre on sly

Agree0 Disagree0

I not seen anything on transfer centre either I think we will bring them in last minute let all the money grabbers go where they like I only want players who want to play for Everton. I have a feeling that Rooney will be back

Who finds it funny Chelski fans buzzing cos Pep is coming in the summer, oh no he's not is he lololol, money can't buy you class

Degsy

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Heard he's going to Munich!!

Gods Doctor

Agree0 Disagree0

I was thinking the same thing. If you were so well respected as a manager and universally liked in world football why oh why would you want to work for a man who tosses managers aside stripping them of their dignity. That club is an embarrassment where as Pep is a decent man. The two just doesn't mix.

So Chelsea fans your owners money is of no value it seems

Bet you they had a go at gettin him Ace, he was a quality player and is a top 3 manager who obviously has class in abundance, poor poor Chelski stuck with a fat waiter

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't it rumoured they were willing to pay him £18m p/a ? Good on him, one bad season and that's his reputation tarnished. He strikes me as a nice, sensible bloke who's obviously too good for chelski.

Heisenberg

Agree0 Disagree0

They probably did Degs. Thing is, what you do and how you treat people doesn't go unnoticed. And the way they are dismissing lampard right now is real poor form. Can you honestly see Pep agreeing with that after the loyalty he was exposed to at Barcelona.

To end all speculation about Andrey Arshavin... He's out of contract in the summer . Moyes wants a loan deal . Wenger wants to offload. He's in the squad tonight. Billeytinovv has informed Arshavin if he wants to save his career then to join the toffees . Arsenal have confined he will go to nerdier to discuss terms on Friday . Let's be at finch farm to actually see him arrive !!!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

i would be very surprised if moyes didn't sign a new contract. i understand he s frustrated at the lack of funds at the club, but he has worked very hard to get us to where we are today, and we have the best squad we have ever had in his 10/11 years and we are playing by far the best football we ever have under him. so i would find it strange if he left as someone else could come in and take over from his good work, add a few players and take us further. therefore i think moyes will sign a new deal but would't be surprised if it was s hort 1 or 2 year deal just to see if we can continue in the future like we have been this season. and the german interest again i think won't happen in the near future as i think moyes said he would eventually like to manage in germany and again people putting 2+2 together and making 5. hope i am right. just thought a bit of positivity would be a welcome change to this site at the minute. {Ed025's Note - it is mate, cheers..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

We are comin to a crossroads with moyes, I think your right over length of contract prob 1 or 2 years, but board really hav to back him .good news over guardiola going 2 bayern probably means ferguson stayin at united for the foreseeable future .

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes was never getting the Utd job anyway.

I think the one/two year contract (maybe a rolling one year contract) is a very good shout.

If moyes is going to sign a contract the board really have to do something special. This is the best chance we have had in years of top 4 . We are so close but yet so far without cash.
bluepaddy

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I can see Moyes leaving at the end of the season, and me for one wouldn't blame him one bit considering the hopeless board we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know it was a long time ago - and the club's had plenty of time to sort things out - but I still believe that the mid-80s European ban and the Agent Johnson era meant that we couldn't compete for - and therefore couldn't get the money for - being at the top of the EPL and then playing in the CL group stages. IMHO, once a club's in the elite group that regularly does that, it has to foul up spectacularly to drop out - which, if it does, is normally down to the transfer policies of the managers. You can guess which clubs I'm suggesting :-)

i was just curious as to what you thought, our home support is fairly poor, the gwladys rarely rocks, i would love a section desginated for fans who want to stand up and sing. Also away from home, fans sitting down causes a depressing atmosphere away from home too, thoughts on these? {Ed025's Note - I have done the standing bit mate..not all its cracked up to be..

Believable1 Unbelievable5

When did you last go to a game? been rocking on more than a few occasions these paste 12 months

Agree0 Disagree0

I have too agree with the poster

george efc

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a season ticket holder mate and I have to agree with you a little bit. Goodison has to be one of the loudest grounds in the league........ BUT only for big games.... Liverpool, Man United etc the rest of the games there is not much atmosphere unless we are winning, there is always an edgy vibe untill we score it's quite annoying really there is a section in the Gwladys that really tries to get it going but there basically on there own untill as I said we score.
It's not awful though, in the main it's average but when it rocks it ROCKS!

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a season ticket mate, just dissapointing, people in the gwladys seem unkeen to engage in a good sing song, shame really. alex

You know how we are assuming Capoue is Fellaini's replacement, Capoue is a defensive midfielder and Fellaini has been playing up top recently and that's a position we lack when Gibson's out, so maybe he isn't a replacement...............

TC

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Could be a signing to appease moyes and not replace Felliani .for once wish the board could grasp this chance and back moyes, if we get champions league will need to strengthen anyway, if we don't Felliani will probably leve, to me it's all win . Everyone at Everton is geared up for champions league, the board need to ask themselves are they .its there time to stand up

Agree0 Disagree0

Would ignore the part about Fellaini in the rumour. If they are doing the job properly then its been obvious we need defensive midfield cover. the ideas we should sell someone who can play in that position to raise funds is just poor journalism as usual.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2013 09:15:10
ettiene capoue is considered a replacement for marouane fellaini if he is to leave.. capoue would cost us £10m and if fellaini goes we would definitely have the funds.. He is tall, strong and excellent midfielder.. Similar to fellaini and likes to the pass the ball too! Definite signing if felli goes..

not a rumour, just a thought.

bolton's stuart holden is supposedly out of contract in the summer. he's only just coming back into the bolton side after a long injury lay-off, but if he can prove his fitness between now and then i believe we should go for him.

he's a very solid box to box midfielder and would go great alongside gibson or osman in the middle of the park.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Agree he is an everton type player coyb

Agree0 Disagree0

We shouldn't be even giving Bolton cast offs a thought we need top players who can prove they are worthy to play for us and will improve our team and fight for a place not bench warm and keep the club doctors busy

Agree0 Disagree0

Holden is no cast off he just got really unlucky that nigel de jong confused an international friendly with a kickboxing match

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuart Holden is a class act in every way. Top player who was unlucky with a bad injury and a top man who stayed loyal to Bolton this season because he didn't contribute last year and he felt he owed them. This lad has the mentality and quality to be an everton player but I haven't seen him ever say he wants to leave Bolton. If he did, I would hope we would try our best to sign him.

I'd have hoilett off them. I always think players like him who looked promising and moved for the money only to realise it ain't all that would come good at everton. Like N'zogbia, Sinclair, etc Easy to say no way, they are useless now, but they have done it before and everton is the perfect environment for players who just wanna work hard and play football again.
