News Now reporting Dendoncker is availble at 15 million!

Eloy Room has also thanked Vitesse fans for support clearly stating he is about to leave so expect him to be next to replace Robles.

Think rk has said he thinks cm is fine for now, unless someone leaves of course. Room looks to be signing for psv too. Sure there will be other signings but don't think either of these 2 will be coming to join the blue revolution.

He signed for PSV.

Because of the delay in signing Gylfi, I had questioned the statement Bill Kenwright made several months ago that Everton could now go and get any player that RK/ SW wanted and who wanted to join Everton.

Well, I now see that they (BIll and the board) have been true to that statement and - whatever the reasons for the Gylfi delay - clearly worked hard, never gave up, and eventually signed RK's top target.

The club have now spent more than just the Lukaku money - and more transfer spending is expected - so the club's financial situation has clearly improved since FM arrived as largest shareholder (and not just because we're also getting massive television money) .

What's especially good is that not only are we building a stronger squad (both experienced players ready for the first team and bringing in the best young players for U23 development) and a new stadium (which should mean we will be genuine challengers - on and off the field - in the coming years) , but also that the club are still involved in supporting the local community.

Net every Evertonian will be satisfied (for some, too many years of disappointment and frustration and anger can't be overcome! ) , but I, for one, am encouraged to try and be more patient by trusting the "project" that's taking Everton Football Club forward and by trying not to overreact to short-term delays, occasional setbacks, and the ups-and-downs along the journey.
Definitely once a blue always a blue!

Centre back and a left sided pacey striker and I think we can take over the world. Haha. Would like De Vrij from Lazio and maybe Martial from Man u (minus his attitude) . Greedy I know. Haha.

Hi eds

Great to finally have Sigs signature!
Now for the striker situation.
Are we missing a trick in not looking at Christian Benteke?
Given the reducing age of our squad this 26 year old has bags of potential in my book. Look at the quality of delivery we could offer through Wazza and Sigs. I reckon he could be a 20 goal a season striker in our team given a good run.
Palace are relegation fodder this year and he could be prized away I think.
Any thoughts?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - my worst nightmare actually ricky, i think he is lazy and selfish and sulks when things are not going his way mate...no thanks..

16 Aug 2017 21:55:27
Sounds like he will fit our previous strikers shirt well then.

16 Aug 2017 22:27:34
Sounds like Lukaku!

16 Aug 2017 22:32:03
That sounds like Lukaku Ed mate, lol, I would have Benteke?

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Aug 2017 23:06:25
Just playing devil's advocate here Ed but do you not think Benteke just hasn't found "his" club yet? I mean he looked good for Villa, then signed for Liverpool where he simply didn't fit in, now plays for a club going absolutely nowhere and has been replaced by a better footballer (Lukaku) in the national team.

I agree with Ricky because I think he fits the mould of a target man and could get a lot of goals from set pieces, which has been a problem for us for a while, and he may just need the right manager, club and motivation (top 4) to prosper. I also think that he's pretty much the best proven Premier League striker that will actually come to us.

Who would you like to realistically see Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions tommy, in my view we need someone with who is not only a target man but a good footballer as well and i dont think benteke fits that bill, i wanted giroud myself but also like the look of dolberg and i know hes not everyone,s cup of tea but welbeck could do a job for us if he can stay fit mate..

17 Aug 2017 08:13:32
Benteke definitely divides opinion guys. There are pros and cons to all the strikers being touted.
The ones from Europe are not premier league provenso they are always a gamble.
I like Giroud but he's unlikely to come now so I would prefer to concentrate on looking at someone premier or championship proven. We then know what we're likely to get. Good debate though and it'll be interesting who we do land up top.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2017 20:25:18
2 more in and I think we are serious top 5/ 6 contenders - Liverpool and Spurs are there for the taking.

I'd sell Barkley / McCarthy and with that money get Gibson from Boro

Then sell naisse besic Lennon - add 20-30 million to that to get 50 million striker? Benteke would be my pick - I doubt wellbeck would score 15 a season whilst benteke will be around that.

I think getting rid of Lennon besic McCarthy naisse and Barkley would allow all new signings to play but also give the promising youth a fair chance to break into 1st team.

Benteke, Dembelle, Welbeck take yer choice, but who the board want, i ain't sure for 1, but we do need a striker too front either Roo or Sandro COYB, and defender.

Welbeck out the three you've put up but he gets his injuries. Would have liked Kovacic, Giroud or Dzeko out of all the ones mentioned with us over the summer.

{Ed025's Note - i would be surprised if he came billybob, we need a striker not another midfielder and i seen him as more of a back up if gylfi never panned out mate..

{Ed025's Note - no problem mate..

I thought Dendoncker operated in a similar role to Barry or McCarthy Ed, Gylfi plays further up the pitch, well actually judging by how much distance he covers Gylfi covers the whole pitch!

Early call but I'm banking on Bournemouth to surprise everyone and go down this year, Koeman then works his Dutch ties and signs up Nathan Ake next year to slot in at that left CB position we need right now. What do you think of my crystal ball Ed?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think a few are in danger grizzly and bournmouth are certainly in that mix along with stoke and my pick crystal palace mate..

16 Aug 2017 08:49:14
Hi Ed 025 what's your take on Ross, I know it's been talked about on here a lot, but I think it is such a shame he has so much talent and yet we just don't seem to get the best out of him week in and week out, I now see some are saying maybe now China is his only option for a

way out, and now he is injured for quite a while just don't know what would be best for the lad, do you think he could stay now R K is rebuilding the team cheers mate.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think his time at everton is over GB, its a shame really but he only has himself to blame, his lifestyle is not great and he needs to change his circle of friends if he is to progress, the offer the club made him was fantastic and him turning that down could prove a very big mistake mate..

Like many, I am very pleased with Everton's transfer window. Koeman has clearly accomplished his goal of strengthening our spine. But with that said, I am very concerned that we have not added a striker to replace Rom, and less significantly, a winger to replace Delboy. The squad looks great, but I just can't see there being enough firepower up front to get enough goals to challenge for the top six. If we want to party with the big boys, we need to go out and get one of Dolberg, Jorgensen, Dembele or Welbeck (couldn't care which one at this stage) for 20-30M, and go and get a winger/ support striker like the Walcott or Gray for around 25M. Ideally, it would be great to also grab a CB on loan, but for me, it's not as important. If we made those purchases abovementioned it would bring our net spend to about 100M, but if you really want to make up ground on the top 6 you have to be willing to spend that money, especially on goals. I get the feeling Koeman wouldn't disagree. What are your thoughts Ed? Am I being too harsh?

any of them strikers be a shrewd bit of business gb.

16 Aug 2017 17:04:43
Not far off the mark grizzly but I think you may have to wait for the next couple of windows before we add another group of permanent signings. As for replacing Delboy I don't see why we sent him out on loan last season and already have Lennon, Bolassie, Lookman, Kev and DCL that play wide. We also have Rooney Sandro and Gylfi that can also do a job if needed. Would love any of the strikers mantioned but think we have probably done all our business on the permanent front wouldn't be surprised if we get a couple of loans in though, left sided defender and possible a CF.

True-blue, interesting theory about Costa, don't like him, he's the soap star that I would love to hate as a kid but you're right, he knows where the back of the net is and we could offload Barkley to them?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

16 Aug 2017 11:18:32
Robbie, JCL, I think that you're right. I never thought that I would be able to say it but we've got too many good midfielders to keep everyone happy. I'm sure RK will rotate well. The Sig saga has consumed everybody and some are moaning about strikers. I'm sure that behind the scenes, striker signing is being facilitated. There's 2 weeks of the window left, plenty of time to do some more business. I'd have to be honest, out of all the strikers mentioned, Giroud is the only striker IMHO, that would have been good enough for me but that's not to be. As I said weeks earlier, we'll get somebody who hasn't been mentioned yet. I think it'll be another big money signing and I think that we'll also get a few on loan. More to leave I think as well. The transfer window is a marathon, not a sprint, as we all now know. (Ask me that on the last day though! )

How likely is it that Everton will get a new target man. all of the rumours have revolved around Gilfi and only paper talk regarding other names. do any of the eds know, (or any readers in the know) how serious Everton are about bringing in a target man to play up top?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2017 14:18:29
I think we have about the right depth in midfield options, we have cover for injuries, depth to ensure players can't rest on their butt thinking they are an automatic choice and versatility that players can adopt other roles!
I'm really excited with this squad if we add the other missing pieces Koeman has identified we will be knocking on that champions league door!

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2017 10:40:16
Got to be honest I'm very excited about gilfi finally playing for us, I think we will see a different style of play, he's tall can hold the ball up and find a pass, Rooney and sandro will defiantly benefit having him around, but will be interesting to see how we line up, could it be sandro up front with rooney and gilfi playing either side just behind, very exciting, would like another striker just think we are very light, I would go for salami of Leicester, he's had a season to get used to the league and he's very good in the air, plus when he was in Portugal he scored loads of goals so obviously knows how to put the ball in the net, maybe not such a good season, but was in a team that struggled, in a better team he g
Could do very well, and I reckon we could get him as Leicester have bought another striker.

I think the injury to Barkley may have a knock on effect for the rest of our buys in this window. It's potentially 30mil plus his wages in cost now over the season.

I hope they prioritise the striker and winger position as this is the main area that needs improving. However even just a striker will do for me now Sig is here.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

16 Aug 2017 09:32:17
I think our transfer dealings may well be done for this window. I know we are looking a bit light up top but the caliber of striker just isn't available at the moment. If we just want a squad player then okay. I presume if we don't have any bids in for anyone at the moment then it may be that RK and SW choices are not available. To be fair to the board they have supported RK really well this window and although he has been asking for another striker and left sided defender I don't think he can really complain if we don't get them this window. For me this has been the best window we have had for a very long time both with the quantity and quality of the players we have signed for the club. Not getting any additional support may also bring on some of the younger players through at a faster rate. I would like to see DCL played up top a lot more I really think he could be a quality CF given the chance. COYB.
