Does anyone know if Sambou in u23s looks like a player or is he not going to make it at the club?

{Ed025's Note - he has done very well by all accounts sobs, but like all young guys we wont know just how good he is until he gets a bit of a go with the first team mate, that could be a while coming i suppose but at the moment he seems to be doing very well..

Josh Bowler looks like a decent prospect to me. He'd be the pick of the current bunch in my eyes.

Cheers Ed. I love the team at the minute but I’m also a firm believer in running clubs properly. Our youth should feed into under 23s and our under 23s should feed senior squad. I wish that was a rule in Premier League.
Glad he is doing well - hope we see a bit of him in next year or so.

{Ed025's Note - no one is happier than me when a young guy makes the grade sobs, i hope he continues to progress as well as the other academy lads mate..

Ellis sims is the forward on form right now something ridiculous like 16 in 9.

Yeah I've seen Simms knock em in left right and centre. A lot of talent, but it's for them to prove they are good enough. I mean we paid 6 million for Lewis Gibson and he looks a good centre half.

That’s what kind of disappoints me when we are linked to smalling and Rojo.
We have Zouma, Mina, and Keane. We then have jags as a back up. Hollgate and Lewis Gibson should be given the opportunity over next few years. Maybe a bit different if we don’t get Zouma. Bare in mind Mina potentially could go back to Barcelona in 2 years (its a bit lose lose) - we want him to play really well - if he does it’s likely Barcelona will take him back. We will only keep him if he is not great.

Smalling and Rojo are not better than the potential of hollgate and Gibson.

Poor Tom Davies looked a bit sad last night when he came off what do you think Eds.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i never seen him to be honest penysarn, i do like tom and i think he has a bright future but lets be honest hes not breaking into our first team unless we have injuries, but he has to knuckle down and bide his time mate as sulking will only put him even further down the pecking order..

Was just wondering what Ed’s and fellow blues thought about the Premier League asking for £250k from us to go towards Scudamore’s parting gift of £5 million. Personally I think it’s absolutely ludicrous. School funding in the city is on its arse, parents are having to use food banks more frequently to feed their children, grassroots football suffers year on year with a lack of funding and there is a homeless epidemic. Where do they get the cheek to ask for a bonus of £5 million for a guy who has earned almost £30 million over 20 years? Not only that, but in that time he has successfully managed to price the working class fan out of the game along with his cronies.

{Ed001's Note - don't get me started on this mate! I am sickened by it. His mate suggests it and most of them agreed because of his 'successful tenure'. What they mean is that he made them a lot of money, as there is absolutely nothing better about the Premier League since he took charge than there is now. The money should have been donated to charity.}

15 Nov 2018 12:04:45
Completely agree Ed, plenty more worthy causes the money could go towards. Out of interest, do you know of any Prem clubs who have flat out refused to pay the £250k?

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I think there are 5 that have said no. Fulham have defo said no. I would like to think the other 4 would include both Merseyside clubs, but I am not sure. He was on £2.5m a year anyway, there is no need to give him more money.}

Had a nice little chat with Marcel today before he flew out of T3, really nice guy has lots of good things to day about the club and fans. Didn't pry into were he was going and why but he was a really down to earth and I thanked him for turning the club around to which he replied I'm only just getting started.

I think the appointment of Marcel Brands was absolutely crucial to the future development of the club. He will bring experience and more importantly stability if and when Silva moves on. Steve Walsh was not a D of F, he was a very good scout but was not necessarily equipped with all the other skills needed in this key role. I for one am really looking forward to future transfer windows! (can’t believe I’ve just said that!).
