You know where like poor people who have just won the lottery. We go a little crazy and start spending money all over the place, buying things we probably don't really need.
What we need to do now is get rid of all those relatives and new friends (players and directors) , and employ professional accountants (manager and staff who know how to win) , and start running it as a professional buisness (football club) .
There's no sentiment in football and this club needs a clear out from top to bottom. No more fricken patches.

The crap about tapping up, surley, tapping up only occures when you speak to the induvidual without consent of the club, you are free to talk to his agent or representative at ant time, at least, that is my understanding, so eds, is that correct?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, that is correct.}

16 Nov 2017 10:04:42
I was going to ask the same question JCW so can any Eds shed any light on where the story has come from have we actually approached silva or have we approached his rep to see if he would be interested then offered compo to his employer who rejected it as it only the mirror who have ran the story I believe it's a load of bull (or I hope more like)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Approaching Silva directly is not allowed but Everton can speak to his representative. Everton have approached Watford to ask to speak to MS, but they said no.}

15 Nov 2017 19:10:59
Has anyone mentioned Chris Wilder?
Better record (win %) than Silva, Allardyce. Dyche and probably 95% of all available managers.
Apologies if this has been covered I can't be arsed checking all the posts.

Two managers’ futures looking uncertain all of a sudden in O’Niell and Coleman.

What are peoples’ opinions of these two?

Just been having a chat with a mate about which players we would like to see leave the club in the summer, for me:

Mirallas
Stekenburg
Williams
Martina

Anyone else? Seen a few people want Sandro, Sigurdsson, Klaassen and Bolasie out, think it's far too soon for that and we've missed Bolasie terribly, think Sigurdsson and Klaassen have a LOT to offer if we start playing properly, unsure about Sandro.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

15 Nov 2017 18:59:45
Hey Swan would give Bolasie, klassen, Sig and even Sandro more time.
Think we haven't seen enough of Sandro to warrant letting him go just yet think he just needs a chance like we've given to Niasse.
Would like to see vlasic given more time looked bright don't know if he's upset DU, we all have our views on team selection let's just hope the team at the weekend give a good daisplay and 3 points.

15 Nov 2017 19:15:56
Agree with your selection Swan. Not sure how we can play Rooney, Sig and Klaassen in the same team so I think one of these has to go to make way for someone else preferably in defense. Since I can't see us getting rid of Rooney or Sig it has to be Klaassen.

15 Nov 2017 19:33:27
Klassen, vlasic and Sandro have to play the remaining euro games to get some game time and hopefully some confidence.

After this season I wouldn't care if Schneiderlin went tbh. I know he's got quality but if his heart isn't in the fight I don't think we need him.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Nov 2017 20:29:18
Schneidelin first and foremost plays for Everton football club not Koeman or Unsworth or anyone else who comes in. So he needs to give his all for the club regardless of who is in charge and if he doesn't want to then he can go.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Nov 2017 22:23:27
Vlasic has been good in the games he’s played and will be a great player and I can’t understand why he has been dropped from the starting line up never mind the bench Klaassen and Sandro just need time to adjust to the prem and will be good players the problem is they’re both number 10s and because we’ve got a tit called Walsh we’ve got a million of them, if we dump these 2 in January like the gutter press are predicting I think we will regret it in the long term
I thought Koeman alienated people but Unsworth should be head of UKIP 😂😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Nov 2017 23:38:05
For me Klassen could be an 8 or 10 and Sandro is a 9 all day long.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Nov 2017 09:02:14
Rooney, Sigurdsson, Barkley and Klassen are all no10’s correct why do people keep saying about fitting them into team. It’s a squad game now, personally I would say Rooney is an impact player off the bench playing against lesser teams sitting back, he’s still got the quality to pick out that killer pass and use his experience. I would rotate the other three which wouldn’t have been a problem with Europe and cup games, especially with Barkley being injured (hopefully he stays) . Once we get a recognised quality striker in the No10’s will come good.

I wonder if Barkley has ever played Striker? He’s got the physicality and doesn’t seem to have the engine to play midfield, he’s got two good feet and good finisher. I don’t think any good in the air but if you played to feet I would imagine he would be strong holding the ball up. Has anyone seen him play there through youth etc?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Nov 2017 12:49:55
I don’t think he’s got the pace or aerial ability Robbie.

15 Nov 2017 15:17:24
Regardless of all this talk about a new Manager we have a very important game coming up this week-end against Palace. I thought they looked pretty good against Spurs so it is not going to be a walk over regardless of their position in the league. Even if we appoint a new Manager this week he will not have sufficient time to impact this game so it is Unsworth's team regardless. Let's hope that he picks a team that can stop conceding two goals per game which IMHO means no Williams or Schneiderlin.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Nov 2017 18:01:53
I’d like to see a team that can attack and defend, Palace are poor and have a fraud of a manager but Zaha is dangerous

Agreed that Williams should be kept as far away from the team (and the fridge) as possible

Pickford
Holgate
Keane
Jagielka
Davies
Gueye
Vlasic
Sigurdsson
Lookman
Calvert-Lewin
Niasse.

Whos the right back?

15 Nov 2017 20:13:10
Or more, who's the left back?

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Nov 2017 21:19:41
Pretty novel team Swan. A 1-3-2-3-2 set-up. Just hope that Vlasic and Lookman can come back to defend.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Nov 2017 22:37:00
3 at the back with Davies and Gueye splitting into the full back roles like Barry and McCarthy in Martinez’s first season, Sigurdsson in the middle with those 2 but a bit further forward with Vlasic on the right and Lookman on the left, need pace, sick of our team having no pace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pickford

Kenny
Keane
Jagielka
Baines

Vlasic
Gueye
Davies
Lookman

Sigurdson

Calvert-Lewin

I would be telling all the players they are all playing for their places/ future and would say only Pickford is safe.
Kenny - Coleman back soon
Keane - needs to settle into team and has been unfortunate to come at a time of turmoil.
Jags and Baines are both top professionals but are coming towards the end of their careers and being pushed from Holgate, Mori. LB needs looking at for next season.
Gueye and Davies - Benni looks quality, sneiderlin is quality but needs to sort his head out before coming back to first team. McCarthy still has a part to play.
Lookman and Vlasic - Bolasie on his way back, Mirallas has wrong attitude and has to go. Lennon is ok squad player.
Sigurdsson - has Klassen, Barkley to come back, Rooney and Dowell so lots of competition there.
Calvert Lewin - Niasse? Sandro? (Would like to see him settle into premier league but like Keane unfortunately bad timing for him. Also got Nigerian lad coming in January.

Quite clear to see that Striker is the weakness in quality and depth. For this season anyway, another CB and LB and winger for next season though.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Nov 2017 09:43:08
we don't need another winger.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Nov 2017 10:53:35
If Mirallas moves on, which he should we are only left with Bolasie, Lookman and Vlasic. Lennon is squad player at best I agree it’s not priority but if we have ambitions to be top four we need 2 quality players for every position to compete.
Good news though I think Calvert-Lewin is good enough to be the other striker and kick on. So realistically one big purchase of a top striker will see everything else click into place. If and big IF we put Lukaku into that squad we would be talking top four.
Pickford
Coleman
Keane
Jagielka
Baines
Vlasic/ Lookman
Gueye
Davies/ Benni/ Sneiderlin
Bolasie

Sigurdsson/ Barkley/ Klassen/ Rooney/ Dowell
Lukaku/ Calvert-Lewin/ Onyekuru.

I think its a shambles, why go for Silva at all, the only premier league history he has is taking Hull down. We have also now alienated a host of other managers as they now think their second best, surely we have people who can work off the radar and find out if its possible before its leaked to the media.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

15 Nov 2017 16:56:56
I'm not sure I buy into this 'alienating of managers'. I would be very surprised if an organisation involved in the amount of money and publicity that comes with football appointed someone in such an important roll without considering and approaching various options. In my opinion he is a good young manager with potential (which is apparently the thought of a few top clubs) . Hull getting relegated was in no way his doing, he done a commendable job in trying to keep them up.

I see Ancelotti has thrown his hat in to the ring and now saying he fancies a move to the Premiership, probably more press rubbish I expect, but I would welcome him with open arms best of what we have been looking at supposedly bar Simeone.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - He wants a job at another club.}

15 Nov 2017 10:06:54
I fully agree with your outlook GuernseyBlue. Putty its someone else he has his eye on. Any idea who that is Ed002?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but it is not really something for discussion at this time.}

15 Nov 2017 10:21:25
Hi ed002 can you see us going back in again for Silva really like him as a manager and think it would be a risk worth taking seems good in the transfer windows too.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Yes there is every chance. The fear is his ability to walk away quickly but he seems to be Moshiri's choice at the moment whereas Kenwright wants Unsworth to be given longer. The footballing person's view is seemingly being ignored.}

15 Nov 2017 10:45:28
Thank God the 'footballing persons' view is being ignored, if as rumored his choice is an Allardyce, Shakespeare dream team! Watford have apparently rebuffed our attempts and it seems likely that Silva will have to force the issue himself if its true.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Nov 2017 13:44:30
Just hope we can persuade Watford to let go of him which will be hard! Can you see Watford agreeing to let him go ed or will they dig in and keep
Himntill the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Clubs are not keen to have their coaches taken away part way in to a season leaving them in a very difficult position. I don't see where "summer" comes in to it.}

15 Nov 2017 14:18:38
I ment him leaving in the summer not for us ed as they both don’t tend to stick with what they have. Hopefully we can reach an agreement with them and not let it drag on too long now we have identified the person as it will affect us and Unsworth and also Watford.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He has only been there for a handful of games and he is on a two year deal, so no one is talking about him leaving.}
