What is Martinez on about? He states that in modern football teams can't resist big money offers from bigger clubs like Ronaldo leaving Utd but didn't we prove last summer with the Stones chase from Chelsea that we don't need to sell?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

16 Mar 2016 00:19:56
ye he did say from bigger clubs BUT chelsea are NOT bigger than us chelsea only have about ten years of history since their maffia owner turned up,our history goes way back and chelsea will never ever be bigger thanus and hopefully our new investment will mean chelsea always will be the smaller club.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Mar 2016 08:01:57
well according to talk sport Roberto said he was basically gone in the summer which isn't what I heard. The way I read it was if a club like real Madrid or psg came in for him and offered stupid amounts of money we would have to consider it but that's just business and really annoys me the way the media twist what gets said.

whats with all the put the under21 out in the derby, we will get are first win there since 1999 with this team robles, oviado, stones, mori, galloway barry , mirallas, geri, lennon, lukaku, niasse then in the semi robles, baines, jags, mori, colman, besic, mcarthy, lennon, clev, lukaku, barkely and we will win both games this team is going to grow of age in next few weeks.

Not bad thinking muff. I like the plan 👍.

It'll be interesting to see when the WHUvMUFC replay will be scheduled.
Unless it's an early kickoff on a CL/ EL day (like the HullvArsenal replay) - or on a Monday (48 hours after their other Saturday fixtures) - then it would probably have to be the same midweek as our derby. If the latter, then extra-time, penalties, yellow/ red cards, injuries, tiredness, etc., for them would not upset us too much!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 21:31:26
how ever way you look at it, we all have the same probs and from now till then will bring problems ect its all down to who performs and want it moor plus luck it all bodes well for a good end to the season just got a felling west ham are due a blip, utd ain't what they use to be, and we are due a run of form there so many factors to get in the way we just need to take each game as it comes and not over think it.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 21:32:07
West Ham and utd both have games on the Wednesday as well.

{Ed002's Note - But it didn't stop you all embarrassing yourselves.}

15 Mar 2016 21:58:32
? all embarrassing ourselves don't get what you mean ed02.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The constant bleating and whining is embarrassing. Surely you are bright enough to figure that out? Perhaps not.}

16 Mar 2016 08:05:12
I understand the game had to be rearranged and as for ED02 saying we are crying about it there is a massive difference between playing palace or watford and us playing our dirty local rivals at anulfield then a semi final at the weekend I think the players will cope and RM will make changes but once again the FA haven't exactly helped us out have they.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, it is a conspiracy against Everton. First it was only Everton being made to play a game that week, but now it turns out all of the clubs have a game that week and the whining changes to the game being too hard for Everton.

What will happen if the club gets in to Europe next season? I suppose you will all be cheered up by having even more games to complain about.

It is pitiful reading.}

16 Mar 2016 08:09:45
I think somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps you don't see how embarrassing it is to have to read all of the whimpering by the Everton supporters? This constant looking for excuses before anything happens is completely hopeless.

I assume this is to do with the City of Liverpool, as the supporters from the other side of Stanley Park do nothing but bellyache most of the time as well.}

16 Mar 2016 11:17:37
"All" the Everton supporters, Ed? Hardly. Don't let the loud minority fool you.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Try not to be a complete jerk. It too is embarrassing.}

16 Mar 2016 23:44:19
To be fair ed002 you've done more moaning on here that the whole of these websites put together. Maybe you should stick to being a fan like us and leave the editing to the professionals.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - All I have done is commented on is the hopeless whining little bitches that many of the Everton fans are. The griping about the re-arranged game were completely laughable and extremely embarrassing. It is clear that the absolute worst thing for the fans would be the success of getting in to Europe with all of the additional games that would bring - tiring out the poor little Everton players. Previously I of course explained about the new investor in the club as the Everton fans are seemingly not bright enough to understand matters like that on their own. I am not sure which "professional" editors you are referring to. You should considered yourselves fortunate that I have answered questions about transfers for you.

I have no idea why you wish to drag this thread out even longer as I have no doubts that fans of other clubs are amused by quite how embarrassing this is for the Everton fans.}

15 Mar 2016 17:59:09
Not much of a poster, but would anyone take Reece Oxford if any of our cbs leave?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

15 Mar 2016 21:09:07
No.
Don't get me wrong - he's a very decent prospect. But we've plenty of our own promising young centre backs: Pennington, Holgate, Foulds to name just three - plus Browning and Galloway even though they've played full-back when called into the first-them so far.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 16:32:30
. can I just say that the midfielder guy "Kante" at Leicester is pure class and the best I've seen for many years - would be a great replacement for Barry. would take some serious cash to get him though I guess!

Believable7 Unbelievable0

15 Mar 2016 20:25:06
we already av a player like him in macarthy. this is a one off season for leicester so it could be a one off with kante so no I would not av him. I think PURE CLASS is a bit ott.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im a massive fan paul..

Hes a key part of what Leicester City have done this season although Vardey and Mahrez get the major attention.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 22:17:53
. Kante is better than McCarthy in my opinion. he is a real natural at the game he plays and possesses great positional awareness and just seems to know where the ball is at all times. I haven't seen a player as good as him since Makalele for Chelski in his earlier days and he's still only 24 years of age. one wonders how on earth such a talent escaped the main scouting networks of the top premier league teams!

Eds

The derby was meant to be played but was re arranged so they could have there final, why couldn't it be arranged 3 days before as it was there game that affected the league game.

Now our league game is arranged 3 days before Wembley, this was down to them yet it is arranged at the wrong time for us.

But as long as the reds are ok then all is good with the FA

GET ON MY NERVES.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Three days is plenty of time to prepare and it is nothing to do with Liverpool and there is no conspiracy against Everton. If Everton were to win the cup and get in to Europe next season are you still going to bleat and whine like a pre-pubescent girl? Or are you going to suck it up and move on?}

15 Mar 2016 17:08:20
No ed 002 I understand what ye saying, but explain why it's wasn't re arranged before there cup game

Ed002 you a red as well, and ye we was playing last year in Europa league. I know what ye saying.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It was rearranged on a date that suited both clubs, I don't know what "cup game" of Liverpool you are referring to. And I am not a Liverpool supporter.}

15 Mar 2016 19:29:37
Guess that means a sunday then for our semi.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 20:40:30
Ed I think he means why wasn't it brought forward or a couple of weeks after it was postponed I can see why he is annoyed if this was the other way around they would be annoyed aswell but this is a derby ed so I can understand the disappointment.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It has to be arranged at a time which suits both clubs. Who cares if once side or the other has fans who whine about it? It doesn't matter when it is set you will still be bleating.}

15 Mar 2016 20:49:56
Suits both clubs so I take it the Fa asked both clubs if this date was alright and if so and they agreed I rest my case.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - by the way stef..i asked about swan and he has not been banned, he must just be taking a break mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 21:34:58
Stef, thanks for understanding what I'm saying, this don't suit both clubs only Liverpool. My point was the first game was changed to accommodate Liverpool, so why wasn't it played 3 days before there trip to Wembley.

This don't suit both clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 21:02:55

15 Mar 2016 16:20:54
You know what, I don't even care about the Derby this season if its 3 days before a cup semi, chuck out the under-21's for all I care.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 16:39:15
It's worth noting that if we end up playing Man U then they have a game that evening too.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 21:21:34
Wouldnt exactly put the under 21s out for derby. there's the likes of galloway, gibson, osman, start niasse up front with a couple of u21s brought into the mix, like holgate, Rodriguez, dowell, williams. Mattioni at right back. Still get a decwnt team out. Klopp uses a lot of youngens recently, why shouldn't we chuck a gwm or two out there. Fielding a full u21 team will do them no good at all.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 12:59:29
Right can we please all give the man a break for the rest of the season and let's all get behind our team no matter what happens and then start start a fresh next season no more moaning please there is not just us who have under achieved.

It's easy to say after a great win mate, we may struggle though if we lose a game we should be winning.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 11:13:13
Just a bit of fun, been looking at the current Utd squad, I don't know whether its me being biased but the only one of those that would get in our team is their goal keeper, I know I know Robles is doing well before someone says but De Gea is world class

We should fear no one in this league now and tell you what, if Leicester can do it then we can next year.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Mar 2016 14:34:48
Yes we can do it with a good manager let's see what happens.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 15:45:14
We should fear no one and no it's not biased. Everyone of our team is a very good player

Other teams living on past years, and name. Football goes in circles, utd, Chelsea, Arsenal turn may be over.

Think we may have a go with Spurs next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 10:17:40
Right I am now going to get behind Martinez for the remainder of the season. Ye he has messed up big time.

We got a semi to win, then a final. He got it right against Chelsea and imo we didn't play great like previously.

If he plays like we can and learn from Chelsea game to shut teams out then for me that's all I want.

Some things in football you just can't stop, some you can

So WERE ON THE MARCH WITH BOBBYS ARMY WERE ALL GOING TO WEMBLEY.

That's a fair post PB. I'm in your camp on this one. He can win me over for the rest of the season with two wins at Wembley and 3 points in the Derby.

Looks like he's got the backing of the new owner too after the Chelsea game so no amounts of moaning from me will change anything.

Our new owner just what exactly did he do at arsenal did he just put money into the club or was it him who had the new stadium built was it him who got the arsenal brand out and about to promote the club and increase revenue I do have a good feeling about our new man but just wondering exactly what he did at arsenal was he one of the reasons they won trophies.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Mar 2016 08:07:55
As far as I am aware and that's just after trawling the net, he had a big input (not cash) with the new stadium build, apparently he wanted to invest his own money in the team but was unable to due to other shareholders, same with Mr Usmanov, like I said i'm not in the know its just after looking at the net

Dags may be able to answer this one better if he is around.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 11:12:47
That's more or less what I seen before also. Wanted to invest but couldn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 18:57:15
I heard he was a 20 - 25% shareholder, but he couldn't get a seat at the table to be involved in some of the decision making. I remember he publicly criticised the board for the sale of some of their better players. or it might have been criticism for signing some of their worst. In any case, he sold his shares to his mate Usmanov as he wanted to be proactive in the running of a PL club and Everton were the perfect fit for his ambition. I can't wait for him to splash the cash from a wallet that I like to think will have 'bad mother f#@£er' embroidered on it, like Samuel L's in Pulp Fiction!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 01:58:07
We have four Premier League fixtures between now and the FA Cup semi-final weekend on 23rd/ 24th April:
19th March - Arsenal (home)
3rd April - Manchester United (away)
9th April - Watford (away)
16th April - Southampton (home)
We also have three away matches to set rearranged dates for: Liverpool, Sunderland and Crystal Palace.
I can imagine at least one of these taking place during this period - probably the midweek before the semi-final, as the other midweeks have international matches and CL/ EL matches and FIFA/ UEFA don't like "big" domestic matches clashing with them.
In any case, it's an opportunity for other players in our squad to stake a claim in the event of current first-choice players having injuries, suspensions or simply being rested/ rotated.
In fact, I'd say it's the last (almost? ) chance for several of the "fringe" players - if and when selected to play during the coming weeks - to secure their places at Everton for next season, as we'll have the funds to change/ improve the squad during the Summer transfer window.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

15 Mar 2016 08:09:00
We have to utilise the whole squad, sod the league let's just go all out for the FA cup.

Need to still be careful Murf 40 points and all that, after the cup win we should be on such a high it should be watch out arsenal this weekend, BUT how many times have we slipped up after a good win this season.
But a cup win would be fantastic after the ups and downs this year, and a summer of real hope and expectation ahead!

Agree1 Disagree2

15 Mar 2016 08:37:42

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 00:56:16
Nice to see jagielka back Martinez. About time somebody in the know spoke up regarding the season we've had. And tbh can't disagree with any of the comments he made either.

None of us know what happens behind closed doors all we can do is voice our opinions after match day. So for someone with 1st hand experience of exactly what goes on in the background to shoulder the blame for some of this seasons performances gets my respect.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

15 Mar 2016 10:19:59
He actually said it is not just the Managers fault, not exactly backing him, what he did was shoulder some of the blame which is correct, unlike Mr Martinez who has taken to blaming everyone but himself, just like my Mother In Law actually. From what I see every week (home games) RM's decision making and tactical nounce is blinkered, he is unable to change which his 'experience' (as he quotes) of Premiership 7 years constant relegation fighting attests to. Even his assistant has stated there is no plan B when it comes to games. Despite this 'track record' the media and owners love him. Mr Kenwrights comments this weekend allude to this believable BS he comes out with, forgetting his league record.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 14:43:13
Martinez is a great salesman and con merchant, he fools Kenwright and the press and many Everton fans unfortunately.
He does not seem to learn from his mistakes, if he did learn then with his man management skills he could be a great manager.
I do not think he will learn as after 7 years thee is no sighn of him learning a great pity.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 20:12:20
As far as I'm aware he hasn't sold anyone important nor has he con'd anyone. Yes he might have made some mistakes but so has every other manager at some point. The team has crumbled defensively at times, I guess that's more down to the players on the pitch at the time. Like I said earlier none of us know what happens behind closed doors, so when an experienced player states publicly that the players need to take their fair chunk of the blame as well then that carries more weight than individual opinions. I'd be more worried if a player called him a con or clueless tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2016 00:03:58
We couldn't have wished for a better draw tonight. I'd rather be playing one of these in a semi final than the final itself.

I honestly think there is no-one left for us to fear and should be totally optimistic about our chances.

We've spent years moaning about when is it our turn to get back to the heights of being the top of English football again. Well it looks like it's just around the corner.
