Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

15 Aug 2015 23:44:29
I personally don't think any world class players will arrive before transfer window having said that how many world class players do we have? All the top teams have them and without them your always going to be run of the mill, I was born literally opposite goodison park many years ago and I run blue through and through but I really really worry about our great club. Lakaku great today by the way!!

Believable3 Unbelievable3

16 Aug 2015 00:00:38
world class players lukaku stones mccarthy barkley not even going to go on

16 Aug 2015 00:28:15
If we haven't got any 'world class' players why does the media keep wanting to sell our players to other clubs????

Agree2 Disagree3

16 Aug 2015 10:38:03
We don't have any world class players and its blinkered to think that we do. Barkley? McCarthy? laughable.
We have some players with huge potential but they have a long way to go before reaching world class status.

Thought I would register as part of fantasy league. Great win today for us and I think we just need to get behind the lads as tough few games ahead but no reason not to get points from them. Keep up good work Eds.

After today's performance is Ross the No10 we have been searching for? I know he is not the finished article yet, but would you drop him for a new signing?

Believable3 Unbelievable4

15 Aug 2015 22:48:03
Good win today, much needed lift for all, but to be fair we're talking about Southampton here, it's just papering over the cracks if there's no real quality coming in before window closes IMO

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - put a dampener on it why dont you baz.. :)

15 Aug 2015 23:05:43
Not at all, we're all chuffed today, can't possibly see that team play every week for a whole season though can you, Ed don't kid yourself it's one game and we need resources.

Agree4 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - im not one to kid myself baz, as i always say...one swallow does not a summer make, your dead right we do need players, but it does show that when the tactics are right we have some fine players and a quality team mate..

16 Aug 2015 00:40:31
Yes its only Southampton, the same Southampton that finished 13 points and 4 places ahead of us last season. They are a decent side no doubting that.

Agree4 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 01:44:27
Baz you kiddin! only the Saints! you must of been flying that plane lad. We were fantastic today a proper lesson in counter attacking football.

Agree4 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 04:46:57
Agree ed.the saints are no mugs.we were great today.others have strengthened this summer but we do have a cracking squad, and when playing like we do today,we can beat anybody.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - without sounding negative dentie will we play with that intensity at home?, we seem to thrive against teams that attack us and let us play the counter attacking role, i just hope we can play the pressing game as well as today against teams that sit back, if we do then this could be a great season mate..

16 Aug 2015 16:47:30
That's why we need a creative forward to help break teams down.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 22:03:51
What a difference a week makes! Rom and Ross running the game for us. Clevs looking decent. Galloway improving, needs to learn to hug the touch line though when we go forward to give width. Who is this Kone fella? What a cross and influenced the game positively! Can look forward to the city game and hopefully a signing or two!

Do I agree with the banner flyers? No, but think most fans are frustrated with a lack of communication and no visible ground/merchandise plan in place.

Stick together blues, we are chosen and the road is never easy as a toffee but that will only make it sweeter in the end!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i enjoyed that post frandad mate..

15 Aug 2015 23:27:25
agree good post this game a massive confidence boost for the team get those players in now pull off result against city there be no stopping us I think under martinez we have bin much better against the top four out playing them in many of the games I predict a win :)

Agree0 Disagree2

15 Aug 2015 21:54:20
I saw the banner today! Bit daft in my opinion! I am not pro board but I'm also not gunning for them to leave! I agree that they need to invest and come up with a plan to take us forward but I certainly don't want them jumping ship and selling to anyone for the sake of selling! If the team continue to perform like they did today, and we manage to get the 2 or 3 signings that the manager has said we will then I'm happy! We have always been late movers in the transfer window, but we always (most of the time) manage to get players in last minute! So if I'm honest i'm a little bit excited to see who we get, if everyone just concentrates on supporting the team, and go about questioning the board through the correct avenues (whatever they may be) then things will be a lot more dignified but with the board still getting the message that things need to change!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - well said smeg..

15 Aug 2015 22:05:40
My personal view on this is the board have had a large number of well documented failures and we need investment and a plan. However if we did get sold it doesn't necessarily need to be to a multi-billionaire, just someone with a plan. I believe the solution proposed by these fan groups is to appoint "independent experts" to sell the club on behalf of the board, who would presumably stay until the club is sold.

I think the idea behind the plane was more than likely to get media coverage, which if it was, they succeeded. Not saying I agree with this method of protest, they are more effective means of removing a board.

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed025's Note - i agree tony..

15 Aug 2015 23:46:47
tbh I totally disagree with the sale of our club right now it could turn out great for us but bigger chance of disaster imo as we have seen with many clubs around us for me kenwright has bin fantastic yes we need some investment would be great not sale personally I think its all way over the top this by far the best squad in years with the promise of two three more I think we can match anyone add to that some fantastic youngsters comin through to say kenwright has done a terrible job way off the mark imo

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 21:27:53
So good to hear the true fans tonight and not the idiots who just want Bill out. These people have made Everton fans look persons today. A banner. come on, absolutely pathetic. No one will buy Everton while we are still at Goodison. Yes a beautiful stadium that we love and cherish, but it's knackered. I know Kirkby fell through for other reasons, but so called fans objected to that on the grounds that it was outside the City boundaries. Boundaries they wouldn't know if they fell over them. I stopped going to Goodison a few years ago due to the total negativity of these people, moaning at and booing EFC players. With Bill in charge you know he is a Blue and has Evertons interests and future at heart.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - good post that kev..

15 Aug 2015 22:50:40
Kev 85 agree with you almost totally but my friend Bk doesn't own efc never has done Robert Earl is the real owner and a spurs to boot so you assessment of going forward with Bk is well off the mark Earl won't sell because of the revenue the premier league generates so no investment no buyer so we're do we stand the only place is still

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 21:15:39
During today's game I felt the emotions that many Evertonians will have. Immense pride in the performance of the whole side, which included some individuals who have been vilified by many. I will also include the manager in this, who has remained dignified during a period where he has been ridiculed. Well done Roberto for conducting yourself in a manner that befits our great club.
For the first time as an Evertonian I felt ashamed and embarrassed by the actions of a few. Our club was once the envy of many, but this minority has dragged this great club down to the level of the classless mediocre has been's and also ran's. Shame on them.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - a lot seem to echo that sentiment SB, i would like to maybe hear from someone who agreed with the idea or even one of the perpetrators to explain exactly what they hoped to achieve..

15 Aug 2015 21:36:10
I agree Ed. It it simply coincidence that this happens when the Blue Union is rearing its ugly head?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - it is presumptuous of you to blame them SB, it could have been anyone mate, i have said before that the BU have on the whole got the welfare of the club at heart, but there are fractions within it who shall we say cross the line..

15 Aug 2015 22:03:15
I agree again Ed and I am not pointing the finger directly, but we both know that irrational individuals do like to jump on bandwagons. Indeed, had the result gone the other way there are probably a couple of posters who would've agreed with those actions. Anyway, this is getting a little deep now and I'm just glad that we won!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i am too SB, nights like this are here to be enjoyed mate not to dwell on the negatives..

15 Aug 2015 22:17:32
One positive to come out of it Ed is that it would appear to have united genuine supporters, which can only be good for all of us who have the clubs best interests at heart.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so SB..

16 Aug 2015 08:51:31
Are there any supporters for the banner at St. Marys on this site? Perhaps they could explain to us what they hoped to achieve. If it was publicity they now have it, so step forward from the shadows and explain the actions taken.

15 Aug 2015 20:52:01
Well done Bill for spending £30 mill on Rom money well spent thought the whole team played well and yes that includes Clev he has fitted in really well, that was a very shrewd signing RM, also to that episode with the plane very poor lack of judgment to say the least long may Bill reign, let's wait and see who R M has up his sleeve for his next signings COYB GuernseyBlue

Cobblers in as much as you know as well as I do that Martinez will change the team as soon as Mirallas etc are fit. Lukaku did well because he had direct support and a pressure release valve in his forward partner Kone.

just like to say a few things I hope the people who arranged the fly over today are ashamed we do not need this at our club leave this crap to Liverpool fans.we played very well today iv said we have a good first 11 and on there day can beat anyone on there day but thing that might have been missed today was that we had 6 players 21 or under start or come on from the bench we really do have some great kids coming into our first team.

I'm really happy with the performance today. A big plus for from pre season to now is that Barkley looks relaxed and looking like he is enjoying his football again. Today along with most of the team he was excellent.

Our away fans were also brilliant today which is exactly what was needed after the shameful efforts of a few morons that have no right to think they speak on my behalf.

These forums, supporters groups or whatever don't help anyone with actions like this. Protests have never worked anywhere at any club. All it does is add to the preasure on the pitch. Luckily today our players, manager and staff stuck up for true SUPPORTERS of our club and performed brilliantly. Thanks boys.

COYB! Great result lads, great work rate and and a few great performances. They gave us lots of space and we exploited it well. Lukaku superb but we'll need the same next week. 15 Aug 2015 16:05:49
Well hope that's the way we do things now 2 up front seems to work well against a good team, Kone deserves a pat on the back Rom was a beast and Ross was fantastic. The only negative I have from a fantastic team effort was the Clevs doesn't belong on the left. COYB.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Aug 2015 16:57:39
I'd like to see the same back 5, then Cleverly alongside McCarthy with Mirallas, Barkley, Deulofeu and Lukaku up front. Either Mirallas or Deulofeu or Barkley can be the 2nd striker playing off Lukaku when we are attacking and all three can interchange to keep their defence stretched and confused

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 19:20:51
Mirallas is a direct player where as Kone complements Lukaku leaving him free to do what he does best (coming onto the ball). Cleverly may have been nominally on the left but I saw him moving more inside today enabling Ross more freedom and McArthy and Barry to protect and move about in front of the back four more. The main thing was Kone taking the pressure of Lukaku but and there is a but, once Mirallas is fully fit, Martinez will revert to type and his ego will once again kick in.

You know today's performance more or less sums up what it's like to be an Everton fan. I like many would have settled for a draw today, but no out the boys come and take Soton apart with some lovely slick play.
Last week thought they would batter Watford, but no.
So for me Everton are like a box of chocolates without a contents list. You just never know what your going to get.

We were brilliant today, only managed to catch the second half unfortunately so no ratings. Is there any doubt now about 2 up front? It gets the best out of both Lukaku and Kone. Both did well second half and from what I hear Kone was brilliant first half. Barkley did well too, Stones is boss. Can we have a plane fly over every week?. Brilliant result against a very good team, well done Martinez. And to all the people who booed Barkley, Kone and Galloway last week, hahahaha. Great result.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Aug 2015 15:22:03
Swan I'm disappointed with you here! From the first day that you came back here to post, I was already looking forward to your ratings for the first time this season!
We didn't really play with two forwards, Kone was more out wide, changing now and again with Rom. But it did allow us to counter attack with pace, and to great effect. Defensively we were very good also. We were better in the first half but still did more than enough in the second. All in all, a great performance from everyone today.
Also liking your new approach on here Swan, welcome back

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 14:46:20
Kone was great today. Maybe we were too quick to judge. I thought Ross had his best game for us, so much of our play went through him. Lukaku looks up for it now. Don't like Galloway at left back he is clearly not one. Even Barry was alright. Very good performance. Bring on those 3 signings

15 Aug 2015 18:49:23
Too quick to judge he been here how long? Now I am one who has slated kone I feel he is usless and brings nothin to our team, but I will also say 2games in 2 assists 1 goal and played well in both so far, not bad for a guy I said wernt good enough for my local pub team, what do I know though haha, hope he keeps it up tho, boys played very well today, banner was disappointing I believe bk is doing a fair job, the team selection had me worried cone an clevs on wings but turned out to be most satisfactory game I have seen for a while Manu excluding. Still dnt think rm is right man but time will tell

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Aug 2015 20:36:55
Toffeeblue I like the way you are open to Martinez doing a job yet. I am too although I'm not completely convinced. I also like your comments about BK. But Kone comments? 'Useless and no good for the team' really? This is based on what exactly? The way I see it is Kone didn't get the chance to show whether he is good, bad or whatever. He was injured far too much. I presume he didn't choose to be injured. Any game he played before this season he wasn't fully match fit he was only returning from injury. How could you possibly judge him on that? Far too quick to judge. See how he goes this season hopefully without injury and then we'll see what he's like. 2 assists and 1 goal is not a bad start. let's see if he can keep it up. Also I seen someone taking the piss of Gareth Farrelly a couple of days ago on this website. He isn't among Evertons greatest but if I'm not mistaken didn't he score THE goal that kept Everton in the top flight awhile back. As far as I know if he didn't score it we would of got relegated. If I'm wrong, please someone correct me. If I'm correct to you Gareth Farrelly I am eternally greatful! 😊

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 14:46:11
well done boys, hopefully this result will silence some of the boo boys, if not only for a week. frankly i'm a bit tired of all the moaning and pesimism this early in the season and considering transfer window is still open. away win, clean sheet, great performance, 2 goals for lukaku who was unplayable, kone had good game, barkley scores another gem, stones increased his value. as for the "fans" who organised plane and banner with message of "kenwright out" hope you enjoyed your 10 seconds of fame. What happened to supporting your team through thick and thin? The way some fans are talking at the moment you would think we where on verge of relegation and administration. get a grip!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

15 Aug 2015 15:54:50

Not only is putting crop spreaders out with banners on pathetic. But to have the time to go nsno in RED. Yes RED letters is even more sad. On another note looking at the team 4~3~3 or is it how bt shown it with a striker and a midfielder both playing out of position? Hopefully not the latter.

Ok then on reflection of the 1st half we looked a lot more settled and composed defensively and offensively. Barkley finally beginning to look like a number 10 not holding on to the ball tp long and Lukaku is striving by not being isolated. Maybe us fans make it difficult for the players at home by the moaning and booing of slight mis controls. All in all happy with the 1st half have a feeling we will see a different approach from saints 2nd half

Secondly, all of our wingers are either injured(Pienaar),coming back from injury(Deulofeu,McGeady) or carrying knocks(Mirallas. Who do you expect him to play?

I think we are all missing the point here! I blame the manager! He's had more money in the last couple seasons than what moyes ever had and wasted 28 mil on a striker whosee first touch is awful. I think the players he brought in from Wigan are poor apart from Mccarthy. I just don't think he's bringing the right players to the club. He's not for Everton and I really believe it is him that is the problem.

Maybe we should do what is done in some countries on the continent when they are un happy with their club, no banners, no blame they still support their club but they all wear black to home games to show their displeasure!

I have supported our great club since 1967, seen us go through bad times as well as great times, and through all those times the majority of fans stuck with the team and that is what we must do now, continue to give the team 100% support. The board though must look at themselves and admit they have failed, they have not found a buyer and not invested enough in the team. Is it time to bring in someone to sell the club? Biggest problem being we have no assets other than players so are we a good purchase or not? Personally I think we need someone on the board with excellent business acumen who can sort this mess out and make us viable for sale and while we wait, we the supporters should continue to give our all in backing the team, starting today at Southampton and hopefully helping us bring 3 points back to Goodison.

I have supported us since the day I drew breath 59 years ago and have seen us win most things apart from the league cup and European cup and we know who is to blame for the big one we were in big trouble and kendall royle and moyes came to the rescue under the latter we became feared again nobody like to come to goodison and then fans roared themselves hoarse in 2 years we are back to Walter smiths everton everybody wants to play us no fear anymore and a manager who is so stubborn he refuses to admit he is wrong it's a recipe for disaster and all these great escapes will be for nothing if he remains in charge heartbroken blue cob luv ya

If we can start today with the same tempo and urgency that we finished with last week we then there is no reason why we can't get a result today.they have defenders missing. I would like to see kev and rom leading the line running at them with pace from kick off, with Barkley and cleverly looking to thread quick early balls. Come on we are in the top half level with Chelsea.
Not liking the BK attack.
Rom first goal with a peno. 1 _ 2 final score.

My prediction for today depends on a few factors.but the most probable one is a draw. For the last 3 seasons we have drawn far too many games and dropped points that would have been invaluable. Of course it also depends on the tinkermans ability to pick a balanced side which we all know is about as likely as a chocolate teapot. I would guess he will try and get Naismith in the team as well as Kone. thus meaning a problem because he will never leave Barry and McCarthy out. What will be will be.but a draw is best we can hope for I think. I hope I am wrong!

We seem to be suffering from what I termed "lazy" signings. If you look at the majority of signings over the last few years, they have been from Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and Wigan. These are either in the form of loans or permanent. I list: Howard, Robles, Kone, McCarthy, Barry, Lukaku, Baines, Gibson and Cleverly. I admit the likes of Cleverly went via other clubs and Baines has been our top signing. However, it is well known that the Premier League has inflated prices and clubs like Southampton and West Ham have scoured the European Leagues and brought in players that have been very successful and in some cases moved on for large profit. I just think we have become lazy as a club and Besic is the only example I can actually think of right now as an example of what we should be doing more of. Oh and the new guy Mason Holgate.lower league players are not what I am on about. it is the top 4 cast offs. Perhaps that is one reason why we are strapped for signings now?

So with news a plane is flying over St Mary's tomorrow and it is as usless as it sounds. Just for the sake of it, can we also have a few more planes saying 'move the ball faster!', 'sign some first team players!', 'where is the Arteta money?' And 'boooooooo'. In fact, just have multiple planes on standby with banners saying 'booooooo' and have them fly by whenever Barkley touches the ball. On a serious note, when did flying a plane over Football Stadiums for these things become popular?.

I know one thing the people organising this must have more money than sense and a total waste of time. let's all wait till September 1st we have been promised 3 signings so lots to look forward too. I'm hoping one of them isn't Johnny Evans though lol

Hope these rumours of a kenwright out banner being flown over St Mary's on Saturday are wide of the mark? It's an embarrassing way to go about things. You have to love these "fan" groups and I use the term fan extremely loosely all for change but with no plan of their own as to how to proceed.

15 Aug 2015 04:31:45
Yeah I think we need change at the club desperately but a plane flying over for a few seconds that let's face it, no one is going to pay any attention to at the board, is pretty pointless. If they want change and are a supposed cause for said change then they need to find a more creative and effective way than a plane with a message that will do nothing. I cannot see the board seeing the plane and suddenly they all think just because it's on a plane we should instantly take note and do as the banner says?. I don't get it, does having stuff being said in the sky make it more meaningful and effective?. We should do that for Cameron then, just fly it over his house and he will definitely step down. He sees the hate at a constant rate everywhere but on a plane? That gets his attention. Quite silly I agree but I would add pointless, unoriginal, odd and a waste of money and fuel in there too.

Everyone is rightly unhappy about the way we are playing and our hope of a good string of results over the next two months, but what realistic plan does anyone have if Bill and the board went? Who do you think would buy the club? Is there any evidence at all that there is anyone out there asking to spend the hundreds of millions it would take for a new stadium and an improved squad? What would they get for that money? Slightly improved match revenue but still little chance of breaking top four unless they literally spend over a billion or ignore the ground issue. I'm sure we could do a bit better commercially, but it's poor in the sky to think that we can compete with - unfortunately -the mancs, chelski or the rs commercially. We are not a good business investment and there is little chance of another Abramovic or Mansour turning us into the next City or Chelsea. I wish there was, but for every one of them there are ten Blackburn, Leeds, Middlesbrough, QPR, Villa, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Hull, etc where new owners have failed to improve the club or have actually destroyed it. Did Hicks and Gillett make a difference across the park? How about the Glazers anyone? New owners are businessmen and is not an easy business to be successful in if by success you mean winning things rather than making a bit of profit. Be careful what you wish for. We are a really respectable club with fine traditions and a good squad. Tactics need to change and of course we need investment, but flying a plane calling for the board or manager to go is the rs and Utd way, not the Everton way - or so I thought. Have some respect while the guy is seriously ill and think about what the alternatives are realistically.
