Just because Moyes scouted Forren quite a few times and didn't him does not necessarily mean we couln't find the money. It could mean that in the end he decided he isn't quite what we are looking for. Where is the problem with that?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Get real. You have to sell to buy, and you haven't sold. Liverpool don't seem to have a scouting system so they ask an international player to a trial!

Liverpool is the past, Southampton is the future. {Ed025's Note - i hope he likes playing in the championship then!..it just shows the guys ambition, he could have played at the top end of the scale with us...but looks like he has set his sights very very low, he might regret his decision by 10 pm monday.

I think long term Oviedo is gunna be a star for us. Remember when we first signed Baines? He didn't get a look in. Lescott was playing left back and doing a great job scoring goals. When he left it was the making of Baines. I think Oviedo will find his place in the team and he will stay there. That could be on the wing, right back, or god forbid, at left back. But we got a quality player in this lad.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

He looks useful but can't say i've seen anything amazing yet - but in moyes we trust - he can spot a player

In light of recent player poaching by Harry Redknapp and latterly Brendan Rodgers. I just thought I'd let them know . Evertons chief scout and David Moyes has been scouting Titus Bramble, Jon Obi Mikel & Bjorne Tor Kavarme. Shush don't tell anyone!!
Lets sit back and watch them go to the Reds and QPR now!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I support statement, sources claimed we were ready to spend £15 million on Mikel, now watch the reds double it!
Great banter and good luck for the season guys, see you in Europe hopefully!

Basically Moyes did go to watch forren play, yet there are no indications that the interest was followed up, we have not bid for him so it may not be the case that we have lost out

Every window is the same, all these rumours flying around, not a lot of evidence. We will sign someone, but it will not be a name mentioned on here... Not Milner, Holtby, Forren, Wellbeck. Only Ofoe stands a chance since we came v close last window. Other than maybe him, when we do sign someone, everyone will be saying they never saw that one coming... And that's not a bad thing. Got the best squad we have had for years.

eds do any of these rumours have any truth?
Holtby?
Forren?
Milner?
Nani? {Ed025's Note - im sure they will have been looked at (except nani). how close we are, or were, is anyones guess..

I've said this before, but if we do ever have to sell Felli and need a like for like replacement. The player is a Slovenian, Josip Ilicic of Palermo. Been following this guy for a few years now having watched him for Maribor in the Europa League. Quality and would be affordable. Tall, strong, skilful, works hard and has a fantastic shot on him. The pair of them in the same team would be immense though.

hi ed and fellow blues. What position do you all think we need to strengthen in most this transfer window? a striker is definitely needed i think.

Andy {Ed025's Note - if we could only have one...a strong defensive midfielder for me..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

For me it would be a very fast striker and drop Fellaini back into CM.Rob Walker

Agree0 Disagree0

Amen to that Ed. And Vadis fits the bill, for me, in every way. Price, talent, cheap(ish) etc...

Agree0 Disagree0

Defo would be a defensive mid. I still think we need a right back. I like Coleman as a squad player but think we need more quality there. Don't buy into wasting money on a striker. We got Jela, Victor and Vellios. Not to mention Mirallas who could easily play up there. Then there's Naismith, who is naturally a striker and likes to get into the box and be a threat.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cracking question. For me its RM as we don't really have a good enough back up to Mirallas. For me Peanuts and maybe Ossie are the only players that have the ability to make the postition their own but I would not really want to move them from their current postions.

Everton target Vegard Forren will arrive on Merseyside after all... but he will be training with Liverpool with a view to making a switch from Molde to Anfield.

TV2 in Norway report that the defender will undergo a medical this week before completing a move to the wrong side of Stanley Park, this despite strong interest from David Moyes in signing the 24 year-old.

David Prentice in the Echo Tweeted earlier that reports of an imminent transfer are premature and that Forren is currently undergoing a trial before Brendan Rodgers makes up his mind about the Norwegian international.

After Moyes and assistant Steve Round traveled to Norway and met with Molde boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back in November, it was TV2 who suggested that Forren was bound for Everton with a medical and talks over personal terms scheduled but the trip never transpired and the report proved wide of the mark.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2013 19:09:47
To set the record straight. Moyes obviously doesn't rate this forren that much. If he did then we would of got him. I trust Moyes and also trust the RS to buy anyone that another team is interested. Moyes has let this one go as he is no better than what we have. So can all the negative people kindly do one. Thanks, Nathan {Ed025's Note - dont rule us out yet nat..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I read that he wasn't so keen in joining in January if he was just going to sit on the bench for the season. Surely he isn't gonna get in the Reds team ahead of Agger and Skrtel, and same with Everton ahead of Jags and Distin. Therefore it will presumably come down to wages, then that sees us 'gazumped' again ?

Forren is training with Liverpool, but no transfer fee or personal terms have been agreed. Deal is far from done, and far from over from an Everton perspective

Lets hope Moysie has thrown the rs another curve ball then and let them think he's interested and leave them to pay over the odds for an average player. Have faith in the Moysiah fellow ble noses.

Hi fellow evertonians just a thought how many of you think Mr moyes should replace are captain for jags or fellaini as Neville seems to slow are play down always going back or across the park instead of attacking and just have Neville as a squad player now has been a great captain just think its time for change

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Definitely

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini is not a leader. I'd have Jags captain, and probably Howard vice capt.

All the players that we've been linked to, if and when we buy or get loan deals, why do we always leave it so late in the transfer window to do our deals? Look at the RS, theyve already bought a mediocre centre forward in but he is up and running already and scoring. Why do we leave it til deadline day before doing our business? Look what happened last year and we missed out on odjidja-ofoe because of the lateness of the deal. {Ed025's Note - if only it was as easy as you think mate...liverpool had a pre contract agreement with sturridge, think of it like buying a house, no one will move until the seller has a replacement..its complicated..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Because we don't want to pay wages earlier than we have too, im afraid that's the penny pinching attitude our club has.

Agree0 Disagree0

As soon as you pay the wages the player starts playing for you - it's not the summer window

Think we need to play 4-4-2 if we want european, moyes just seens to stick with jelavic on his own and nothings happening he needs help up front.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I would like us to sign a striker to play up front with jelavic and have velios and anichebe as super subs, have you heard anything about becchio signing ed?

Johnny 5 has been missing for the last two games, is he injurd or is that cover for an outward transfer ? come on ed25, you are in the know. {Ed025's Note - im not in the know mate..and yes he is injured..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who's Johnny 5? Is this a new way of identifying the players, by their fore name and squad number? I can just see it now, Nicica 7, Marouanne 25, Kevin 11 etc. Can't see it catching on myself.

Fellow Blues we kept our 1st clean sheet for a while at the weekend, very please by that, but again failed to win the game. We did create a fair amount of chances but just could not put the ball in the net. Jelly as it has been mentioned is putting in a shift everygame but it just looks to me like he is not getting into the sort of postitions he was last season on a regular basis which may well be why his goal tally is not as good. Its been sugested that giving him more support up front may be the solution ie play a 442 . I can't see DM starting with a 442 as I don't think he believes we have the players to play the formation. I think Mirallas has been outstanding when he has played but since his injury I do think we have really struggled on the right. So imo we need to look to strengthen the right side of the team I would look for a loan signing, Donovan would do for me, as I think once everyone is fit we are looking pretty strong in all areas. I was also supprised when Hansen on Match Of The Day said Everton have under performed and should be well above Chelski! Really enjoying this season so far, lets hope the boys continue with the clean sheets and hopefully Jelly and the boys keep netting some of the many chances they create.

Like to see DM put out a full team again this season, mine would be:

4-2-3-1
Howard, Coleman, Jags, Distin, Baines, Gibson, Osman, Mirallas, Felli, Peanuts, Jelly

One very Happy Blue. COYB

Mike I am in agreement with you again mate, can't see what all the fuss is with Milner, watched an England match and he must have sent in 20 crosses and not a single one got over the first man, also how much is he on at City, probably 90k, pretty sure Moyes can bring a better player in for less than half that

Degsy

Degs a agree with ya most of the time mate. but not on this one Milner would be perfect for us there is no 2 ways lad. He a propper player a don't think I have ever watched him and thought otherwise. See him have bad games but over all a think he's a quality player! LIAM!! IMWT
