Can someone tell me if there is anything stopping us bulldozing Goodison and building a new stadium on the site other than the obvious money needed? Is it to do with the church? Or the houses opposite the ground? Would it cost less to move to a new site? What was that Aviva visit rumour about? Is that because of the tiny stand at the one end, which in theory we could mimic due to the lack of space on our site? I know right now we have no chance of getting a new ground but I wouldn't mind having some idea of the options, if someone could enlighten me

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Where would we play when this is going on?

Agree0 Disagree0

Anfield. it used to be our ground.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it school holiday tme already?
this site should be for adults only {Ed007's Note - If you send in 'naughty' pics of your wife, girlfriend or both I'm sure we could look into it.}

We could play at the new St Helens Rugby Ground

Agree0 Disagree0

It's apparently a combination of the very small footprint we would have to build, the money needed, nothing to make it attractive to an investor (like we had tesco for Kirkby) and the maze of new planning laws which take into account: transport links, noise pollution, extra traffic generated, height in relation to nearby properties, energy efficiency, effect on local residents, rainbows, inside leg measurements, unicorns, tigers, lions, bears, etc.

Life as a BLUE is never easy. Usually we start poor and come with a late charge every season filling us with optimism only to start off poorly again! Well this season we have changed that trend. IMHO I feel the lack of new faces in Jan is the main cause but some of the team selections leave a lot to be desired. Imagine being a young midfielder sitting on the Everton bench on Sat watching Neville and Osman playing. Must be soul destroying knowing fine well that Moyes will Most likely start with them this week! They have both done well over the years but the lack of pace and strength makes them easy to be over run! Osman sprints going forward and jogs back and Neville is simply not good enough! Think Moyes will leave and I don't blame him as he doesn't get the backing from the board. Breaks my heard to read today that the darkside plan to bring in four quality players in the summer knowing fine well that we will be loosing a couple! Felli will defo go and maybe Baines. Just hope we get investment to push on or it could be back to relagation dog fights every season and I could face that again! Unhappy NI Blue

top post.
the club lost the way.
the match against city will be very crucial.
we must get a result out of it.
if we loose. then europe is almost over.

just my opinion but I want moyes to stay, I would hate us to turn into a villa, the next manager who comes in will have no money to spend and would want to rebuild the whole squad (that would take some time)
i think we need a fast and strong cb, 2 centre mids (felli will 100% go) and another striker, we have very good players and if we added 2-3 quality players to that we will challenge for europe next season
cant do nothing about the wigan game now so let's all move on and get behind the team on saturday, coyb

Would anyone else like to see Oviedo get a little run in the team? The poor lad has been sat on the bench most of the season and is probably itching to get a game. Seen a bit of him when he comes on and seems like a decent player so we could stick him at RM? Heard he's quite a nice guy too.

Team vs City?

He sits on the bench because he isn't good enough, he certainly isn't a midfield player.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is also pacey, something we are in desperate need of.

Agree0 Disagree0

He sits on the bench because he isn't good enough? why does Neville always get a game then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Of what little time he has been involved he has been very good imo.

Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

We did pay 5 million for him!

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair hi is very quick but mostly left footed so if he played on the right he would cut in all the time he's played very well everytime he has played on the left we should move pineear to the right and oviedo on the left

Moyes thinks he's bigger than the club the media darling fresh changes are needed I would start with Moysiah. Thomas Paul W {Ed007's Note - When you shout about wanting rid of a manager and don't offer an alternative it looks as if you are just jumping on a bandwagon, Thomas. Who do you think could take EFC to the next level without there being any major investment in the club?}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Forget about the next level well at least for now anyway, but I will say this if we're going to stand still then me for one would rather do it watching nice football and being entertained rather than the turgid stuff moyes servers up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Matteo for one! You sound like he's irreplaceable. Thomas Paul {Ed007's Note - I'm not even an Everton fan Thomas but I just think Moyes has done a fantastic job at Everton and with the the club's current financial situation I really don't honestly see anyone coming in and doing any better a job than Moyes. All I was meaning that everyone is calling for Moyes' head (again) but aren't offering any alternatives.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Moyes is defensive at times, however think this is due to limitations of squad.
To my mind we need a change of ethos and an injection of speed and size in midfield.
We need an enforcer who can hold a ball and who can also hunt down people.
Pace frightens teams and with the right balance can really transform a side.
AW

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Matteo? You're having a laugh. He's not fit to lace Moyes' boots, and I'm not a Moyes lover. The squad he had at chelski, anyone half decent could have kept them in and around the top of the league and they finished 6th although, admittedly, some of that was AVB's work. The job he did at west brom hardly convinces me he could do better than Moyes, in fact he'd probably have us in a relegation scrap pretty sharpish. Laudrup or Bilic would be my preference.
DB Cooper

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sorry, but in my opinion Mirallas has been our 2nd best player thi season! 2nd to baines! If we had more players like him then we would play attractive football! Mirallas isn't just a tip tap on the ball player on sunday he was one of the only players to get stuck in and show a bit of passion!

Ed Why has the attacking football we were playing at the start of the season dissapeared there must be a reason? Thomas Paul {Ed039's Note - From a neutral outsider looking in, it seems a lack of confidence through the whole squad. Fellaini isnt at the races, Jelavic is snatching, Mirillas looks as though he is trying to hard. If I am being honest I think a couple of wins and that comes back, plus Darron Gibson if he is fit must get a run of games and Phil Neville must come out of midfield, he is a terrible midfielder)

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Sorry Ed, but I don't agree with you saying that Mirallas is trying too hard. There's not been a game this season where i've sat there and thought that Mirallas was trying too hard to impress. In fact it seems almost effortless with him.

BitterBlue {Ed025's Note - im with you bitter..

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he was sure trying ten times harder than anyone else on sat so I think your being harsh on him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think you understood me Mike S. I was trying to say that he doesn't need to try really hard to impress the fans because with him it just looks effortless he is that good.

not sure if I've ever felt this p*ssed off about everton in 40 years

completely disillussioned with the board, the manager and most of the current team - half of em are just not good enough - some of em just look like pub players hoofing it about

I can't even be arsed writing about them

I presume the £125 million BK wants for the club includes money loaned by the board for players, if so this means we are in debt about £80-£90 million. or are they just being very greedy. KK.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Their just being very greedy, if they sold their shares at a break even return on their invertment, the clubs, ground replcement problem, would not be the deal breaker it currently is

Agree0 Disagree0

If the reported 125m is just for Kenwrights shares, he`s fully entitled to ask as much as he wants for them.

But, if a potential purchaser does a little bit of due dilligence and looks over the books he`ll tell Billy to poke it where the sun don`t shine.

Kenwright is just looking for a hefty profit after 14 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people keep going on about the board selling their shares on the cheap. Apart from BK, the others are simply investors, businessmen.
What investor would sell shares in business which is at the premier end of a booming market.
With the new TV deal EFC will receive £100's of millions of pounds over the next few years. let's get real here, EFC have huge earning potentai, and should still generate interested parties with an asking price of £125m

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2013 11:00:09
Just sitting here thinking about this new tv deal clubs are to get next season. If Fellaini is sold say for instance for 26 mill, 8 mill from the fer deal that collapsed, 20 mill from the tv money that gives Moyes 54 mill to spend in the summer, or our new manager, whoever is in charge put it that way, Fellaini could be replaced and still enough money to buy 2 decent players maybe 3, but not sure if it works that way but it was just a taught. if the money is put forward to Moyes or our new manager could really boost the numbers in the squad just what we need.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Interesting analysis, but every other club in the EPL will not only benefit from the increased Sky money, but also be desperate to stay in the Premier League (because of the dire financial consequences of being relegated). They will all scrambling for the limited number of available quality players. Add in the various financial fair play rules and our lack of other income (because of an old stadium) and how are we going to compete with these other clubs. It's now crystal clear to me that our lack of a modern stadium is the overriding obstacle to our club moving forward. Without that, no new investor seems interested. I fear that our board's failure to find our share of the cost of building a new stadium a few years ago could well be the death knell for our club - at least as one with any hope of having a future matching our grand history.

Shame on the fans who turned on Fellaini.
So what he helped spoilt your dreams of Wembley, does that give us the right to take it out on him like you did, he is a young lad in a foreign country.
I know he earns brewsters and is probably a millionaire twice over but come on, after the dust has settled is their any need for it.
Think back to the good times, remember the picture of him doing the dance with Pienaar?
good times eh?
I was embarassed by the result but even more embarassed by the reaction of the fans, no wonder he told some horrible fans to F off, would you take it?
Would Wigan have still beat us if Howard and Jagielka were playing?
We are slowly turning into Galatasaray, sometimes Everton fans ashame me.
Ste F
Old Swan

Believable4 Unbelievable11

Yes they probably would have still beat us. In the end, the quality of our players should be a draw - and that's assuming we had a nightmare (which we did). Two main players might have helped, but we could have had Messi, Ozil, Di Maria, etc and in the end it comes down to how the players play. And on Saturday they didn't want it.

Agree0 Disagree0

So we are supposed to put with that display and not react?
I have never and will never boo the players. I have never left a match before the final whistle.

But I can fully understand the reaction of the crowd.

His display on Saturday was reminiscent of the lescott game and his attitude on the day was why the crowd set on him.
True, he was not alone but at the time he was the easy target.

Imo it should be Moyes who takes the greater part of the blame.
While the team were getting stick from the crowd he was sat in the dugout while Round was on the touchline. WTF was he playing at? And coming out with 'we weren't good enough on the day'? How many times has he said that lately? And nothing since?

How about a statement about there being no plan B and his failure to react on the day. The crowd could see what was happening but he was the only one with the power to do anything.
Still annoyed : (
MacT

Agree0 Disagree0

If I was on £75,000 a week, you could call me all the names under the sun and I wouldn't be bothered. The nasty fans were only telling the delicate little flower to put a bit of effort in. His reaction was a bit pathetic really.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

All Moyes did was look like an angry man who'd just has his apples scrumped by some kids. Steve Round? Lord knows what he does apart from sitting down like he's in a daze with a ear-piece in, what does he do exactly? And the vast majority of supporters pay their hard earned to go the game every week when they can sometimes ill afford it, then you have these millionaire fairies turning in a 'performance' like that. We fans pay their wages so we have every right to have a go at them when they're not putting a shift in. I can accept defeat to a better team, no problem, but not when our players don't even try as the majority didn't on saturday then we are entitled to voice our disgust.

Agree0 Disagree0

What the **^^ has Galatasaray got to do with this?
Please enlighten me!

ive been going to goodison for just on 40 years! if I want a moan I will have a moan!i would walk through abrick wall for the blues and have fell out with many a redrubbish mate over the team I love! but I won't except the mentality of the board, manager of late! and a few of the players! we are not a small little team happy to be around the top ten! we are everton!

I actually don't want Felly dropped. If he's goinng in the summer then we need the best price available. Dropping him to the bench would force his value down.

Who knows, he might have a worldy against city.

Goodness knows we need him to.

whatever poeple say about moyes (i agree some of tactics late on and substutions etc have been bad) at the start off the season are football was great, we created chances for fun, we have gradually got worse and more sluggish as the season has progressed. it makes you wonder what's been going on behind closed doors

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Sad to say but we have a tiring team! Moyes should have bought players in Jan to strengthen the squad. Yes we all know he bought a fullback but we need a bloody good playmaker and another forward. He also needs to play the younger players in the squad and give them a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, one minute he's saying it's the best squad he's ever assembled, the next, he's saying it's too small. Which is it Dave? Contradictory statements like that start to wear thin after a while. He's got the core of a quality squad he just blatantly refuses to use them or doesn't know how to utilise them. You could give him any squad in the world, the best squad in the world but he'd stick with his tried and trusted chosen few, his 'favourites'. And eventually, no matter how good they were, they'd show signs of tiredness and loss of form but he'd persist with them regardless.

R rite eds just got to get this of my chest. I have not read a word on this site since Saturday morning, I've not read a paper or had a sport channel on tv simply because what I saw on Saturday afternoon was an absolute disgrace to my beloved blue jersey. and for me felli is the closest thing to a cult hero we have had since duncan. And to be honest with you I would not care if I ever ever ever see that tool in a toffee strip again. My baby is 10years old she's only been going the game for about 4 years or so and I have always told her what we stand for she knows the meaning of nsno. When I was driving home me daughter said to me dad why did felliani walk off like that I said baby maroanne felliani isn't fit enough to polish Duncan's boots. Sorry but we will get over him!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Lets be honest I loved Dunc and he had desire and commitment he scored some decent goals but he wasnt a good player his ball control was terrible and he couldn't do much apart from fight and score headers.
