Is there genuine interest in Steven Caulker or has that ship sailed Ed?

Absolute belter of a rumour I've just heard of someone apparently ITK. I don't believe it in one bit; but I thought I'd share it for comical value alone. Ezequiel Lavezzi of PSG has been transfer listed for €22M or £17.9M. He's always shown his love for the game by never being payed more than £75k a week (still a lot I know) and due to his patriotism to Argentina loves playing in a blue shirt. As in Napoli PSG Argentina etc. This person who is ITK (apparently) believes after tonight WC final RM will make an official enquiry and offer the £17.9M no questions asked, in a one off un-everton like payment. Once again I reiterate I severely deny this rumour any hope even though I would love to see him wearing Umbro next season! But for humours sake I thought I'd let you all see this!

I really like him, apart from the injury problems he is a fantastic player that is tricky, works hard and scores goals but he is also getting on and despite what I've said thus far, i'm not getting excited as it wont, can't and would never happen

And again, despite the comedic value, he makes no sense, he would join because he likes wearing blue? doesn't he play away matches then? Plus that, despite how ridiculous what your mate said is, that would just open the door for chelsea, zenit, city and even the likes of porto and lazio to come in instead, but hey I've seen stranger transfers happen in football, oh wait, I havent

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it walter mitty who told you this

Agree0 Disagree0

Imagine if he'd joined Cardiff City when they played in blue! Would he have a release clause in his contract covering what happened when they switched to red?

Hasn't been any mention of the likes of Jermain Lens or Carlos Bacca as potential targets in a few weeks. Just wondering if anyone knows if players like these have made deals elsewhere yet? Or does anyone think they might still be on the radar (if they ever were at all)?

Whether Besic deal comes off or not I am sure we will all know soon. Sid was asking why I thought Besic was made for EFC. Clearly other posters are enthusiastic about him too and RM is a better judge than most. I just think he is young can pass the ball accurately, plays DM for his Country and as a defender for his Club I read he was rated best in Hungary. So he is versatile and we need a bigger squad. Who knows RM may be planning a few departures. He is supposed to have an edge though -good IMO.
RM, I think is going all in to try and get Lukaku and until that is sorted I don't think much else big will happen transfer wise. That could be why Everton are trying to get him on the drip. I hate that. I do enjoy us being linked for talent instead of googling the likes of Straquilisi on deadline day and wondering who he was!

Could it be that were taking our time over transfers due to us anticipating (today's papers are full of it) an unbelievable and difficult to turn down bid for Ross Barkley? It wuldnt surprise me and what could we do? also his Agent would push it too for his own benefits. Its happened before to us, it can happen again, same Chairman as Rooney's sale. We got Champions League after Rooney's Sale!

13 Jul 2014 15:17:34
We were in a totally different financial position when we sold Rooney wouldn't be a stretch to say that sale kept us in business today we do't need to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wishful thinking, not sure why you think we don't have to sell. We are still vastly in debt and as said last season we the debt always rises each year. So we can always be tempted, don't believe we can't be. let's not forget he is still no where near the final article yet as was shown by RM use of him last season. A huge offer for potentially a great player? who know's? the bank probably.

Agree0 Disagree0

So true

I wasn't saying that we wouldn't sell at the right price all players have their price I was pointing out the difference in the situations between the Rooney sale and a potential Barkley sale the fact is we could not sell Barkley and still be secure which wasn't the same when Rooney was sold

Sorry to be the prophet of doom but Rodwell is on his way to Finch Farm now.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What as? a groundsman there? or maybe help the medics as he has plenty of experience in the treatment room.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it was a loan deal and he can stay injury free I would b delighted to have him back still young and still has a lot to offer IMHO

Im slightly concerened this is not in the rumours section, is this fact ed? If so that means ross is off

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - why would it mean that swan?

13 Jul 2014 18:46:36
Hmm I typed that then realised I was meant to put someone is likely off not ross in partucular, because we would have 10 midfielders including rodwell and besic which seems a little too much considering we usually only use 3 in a game, seems a bit excessive spending lots on more midfielders unless someone is going, we need cover but not that much cover

Looks like besic hasn't happened at all. confirmed it last night but I've read that Swansea have bid more in one installment. I wouldn't be too gutted if Rodwell came back. Bobby would develop him as long as he stays fit. Very quiet regarding other rumours, getting a bit concerned to be honest.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why are you worried? I'm not worried in the slightest. I have absolute faith that Martinez will work his magic in this transfer window just as he did in the last summer window. One word: patience.

Not a rumour ed, but do you know much of the lad Alan Carvalho at Red Bull Salzburg. Has a good goal scoring record and would only cost around 6 million if not a first choice surely a player to be considered. At least he knows where the net is unlike Kone

Where are we going on our pre season tour this year?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Prenton Park (22nd July), Bangkok to play Leicester (27th July) and 3rd August v Porto at Goodison for Leon Osman's testimonial.}

Totally don't get the Bangkok game. well we all know its to whore our club out there

but with such a big and long season ahead of us wouldn't it make better sense have our pre season games closer to home instead of wasting 3 or more days traveling and recovering

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2014 03:59:35
We want to be a world club, with worldwide supporters, travelling is part of that to gain exposure, there are many Everton supporters out here, but we want many more too. Seeing them in a live game can only help that, we are also sponsored by Chang Beer, so it is part of that too, so we are not "WHORING AROUND".
Think big or we will not grow, and growing brings in MORE money, so think before you say it's a waste of time.
I have been A lifelong Evertonian, Born a Blue 61 years ago, now live in Thailand.

Bkk Pete

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with some of that BKK but there is a time and place for that

not a few weeks before our biggest and most crucial season in years.

we have a chance to make the top 4 this year if we push on on what we did last season

but when around 1/4 of the team has been at the world cup, then on to their home land, then back to us, then to Bangkok and back.

sorry no it's a stupid idea

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2014 10:47:08
So when is the time and the place? T HE CLUB HAS AN OBLIGATION TO IT'S SPONSORS. We will be playing most Thursdays and travelling every other game. then play SUNDAYS is that going to spoil 4th place. Think bigger p[lease, or we will never be a world club team.

Agree0 Disagree0

BackoftheNet, our players are extremely well drilled and extremely fit athletes. I would be very worried if they couldn't recover from a trip to Thailand which is 2 weeks before the first game of the season. I would think even I would be able to recover from that within a week and I am nowhere near as fit as out players. Also, Bkk Pete, you're spot on about us needing to gain exposure.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2014 16:01:26
As an expat I'll also be at the game in BKK with my 6yr old son. I can't wait! However, there is no point worrying about global exposure when you can't buy a shirt anywhere. As long as kitbag prevent the sale of our football strips any exposure is worthless.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with pod.I'm Irish and have to use the web to get the kit.its ridiculous when I could walk into a sports shop and can pick up any other teams jersey.when does the deal with kitbag end?
