Is anybody else still a bit p. d off that we are not playing in the Europa League this week? Such a missed opportunity. I can't see Fiorentina setting up in the same naive, tactically inept way that we did against Kiev and not being prepared, if required, to make an obvious substitution, however early in the game.
For me the season is over now. 38 points is enough. Roberto is bombproof and here for next season whether we like it or not.
The questions are what lessons, if any, will he have learned or is he too arrogant to look back on the worst pre season ever, too many injuries, unbalanced negative formations, unimaginative substitutions, poor set plays, player morale, ageing squad, disillusioned supporters to name but a few.
Personally I don't think there will be the drastic overhaul that many posters are asking for this Summer.

Will be interesting to see what spin Bk and Rm put on this season as after last seasons positive campaign has been followed by this seasons nightmare it's going to take something special to keep the season ticket sales going.Expect all the usual takeover talk to start oh and yet another late bid for riquleme

Don't know if the club would come clean, but would love to know how the season tickets sales are compared to last year. If, as I suspect, they are way down, perhaps Bill will reconsider Martinez's position. Personal point of view, but cannot wait to see the back of this arrogent connman.

So sly Stallone says he regrets not trying to buy Everton, would this suggest we're Not for sale anymore because surely if we were he would buy us, just a thought wether bill is actively trying to sell, it seems not with this sort of admission

Didnt he say he couldn't afford us now as clubs cost billions?

You need to read the entire article mate. He said he wished he had done it 10 yrs ago when owning a club was a millionaires game, rather than the way it is today where you need over a billion.

I keep hearing negative comments surrounding Neil Lennon from some sections of our support. For me he has been an excellent loan signing even if he was 3rd choice at Spurs and was cup tied for the EL. With a fee set at 6m he should be an immediate signing when the window opens this summer.
McGeady on the other hand has been poor. Sell him this summer in an attempt to try and recuperate something from what we shelled out. Send Atsu back to Chelsea as his loan signing hasn't worked out.
Mirallas and Kone are both problems but for different reasons. Kev has obvious talent but clearly sees himself as being better than the Club. If the price is right (at least 10m) then sell but I'd still be sad to see him leave. Kone has been injured throughout last year and has only just returned this season in place of Rom. Again for me he is not good enough and makes me wonder why Danny Ings was not a better target. After all RM must have tracked him in the Championship from his Wigan days as I suggested throughout last season.
Other players who should be leaving will be Distin and Alcatraz (why on earth was he ever signed?). Howard will probably stay for at least another season or two as will Hibbert and Barry.

Neil Lennon? I thought it was John Lennon we've had pacing down the wing. Still got some legs on him for an old boy I give him that ;-)

I know I go on about this but I still want an answer, what does tom cleverley do on a football pitch that has a positive effect on the team he PLAYS FOR. And don't bother with the 'he plays simple passes' as that's not good enough, my 4 year old cousin can do that.

{Ed025's Note - he is the only player i can think of who can challenge AM as the worst player ever to wear the shirt if he comes..

13 Apr 2015 09:45:59
As with kone and Alcaraz they all once had a half decent season at wigan and that's all our blinkered manager remembers!

Has Cleverly even scored for Villa? All we need another prolific midfielder.

Ed, have you forgotten Brett Angel.

Swan, you're not going to get anything like satisfaction to that question. I'd rather Alex Nyarko.

{Ed025's Note - i remember brett well ace...close second mate..

13 Apr 2015 12:15:48
Cleverly is awful but yet again RM likes to stick to his guns as we have seen this season, ed you keep saying AM is the worst youve seen but surely the squads we had from 98 to around 05 had worse like a handful of them

{Ed025's Note - i have selective memory mike.. :)

Think Kone will be around for another year which means no new striker in the summer as I don't think lukaku naisy or Barclay will move.Looks like we will loose Mirrales and replace with Lennon who I hope will win me over.If nothing else Lennon will stay fitter and offer more in team spirit maybe won't score the goals Mirrales might but if it keeps Am out the team iam all for it.The position I do think we need to sort is left wing since penuts got injured early on we just stoped playing down the left going with three holding mids and a right winger.when everton play with width in the team we look much better as soon as penuts came on we had two natural wingers on and we looked better for it if penuts does go in the summer who is out there anyone?

he is not good enough as first or second choice striker was a poor acquisition and reflects on RM's ability to find great young talent!

If we stick with marinez keep key players such as tom Jimmy mc and Coleman sign cleverly caukler and a few more maybe podolski milner or shmichael we will have what we need to break into the top 4

Believable0 Unbelievable1

13 Apr 2015 00:18:43
Who on earth is tom? Cleverley isn't good enough for burtons under 8s d team, caulker is tosh, podolski is lazy and has no stamina, milner is milner. No offence but those players are more likely to take us down then get top 4.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree on the first 3 swan, but milner is very good mate imo..

13 Apr 2015 09:42:56
agreed all not good enough, milner is a great squad player but again another player edging towards 30.
