Working in London supervising steel erecting and fitting balconies, all the lads are west ham or chelsea. What a day had to look at Twitter and ssn loved it. How do we fit Lennon mirralas and del in. Playing other teams we need these in full attack we smash teams easily

Jose to Robbie, forget Stones how much for Naisy? Shall we start at 50mill, and then that waste of space Costa can bugger off back to Spain.

Andre Mariner is a poor poor referee. Other than that what a performance today. Love goodison when it is rocking like it was today. Two away games before another wannabe side rocks up at Goodison.

When we play like that we could beat anyone. Please, please ROBBIE keep them playing at this tempo. Some of the movement today was breathtaking. God I needed that after all the rubbish that's been said about this wonderful club. COYB.

Just wanted to give another mention to Steven Naismith, the lad is a class act and professional. Made up we beat them as convincingly as that, karma for how bad they went about the Stones situation. It's okay, the 'real' Chelsea fans are used to fighting relegation so this should be nothing new to them. Is there a better Centre Back under 24 in Europe than John Stones?

One word No. Best CB under 25 for me atm

I can't remember the poster but he had a tongue in cheek mention we should only take 20 mil on deadline day for Naismith and It made my day because I thought it was good laugh, my bad it would be a bargain

mikedeblue, you didn't read the post regarding selling Naismith properly in the first place. It was my post you're referring to.
I was making the point that we shouldn't sell him as he is an important squad player. I said something like 'we shouldn't sell him unless we got a bid of 20m (unrealistic I know)'
The bit in the brackets was the telling part, I meant unless we got a bid of stupid money then he was more of a benefit to us than 8m that Norwich bid.
He proved today how important he is, will weigh in with his fair share of goals throughout the season

As I spud it was tounge in cheek on your behalf and I went along with it no hard feelings on my side I was just highlighting that it was a 20m performance yesterday and I was made up

13 Sep 2015 13:18:47
no worries mike, when the post was originally made I didn't think you got my point. Just wanted to reiterate that at no point did I really think he was worth that amount! Still wouldn't sell him though :)

That was the best atmosphere I've heard at goodison since early last season.

The buzz after the game was great as well but what this will do for confidence is immeasurable.

10 out of 10 for the players, manager and supporters.

That's the kind of result that's going to keep me buzzing for days!. Great performance. It's so obvious our strength lies with fast paced, direct football not the tippy tappy passing game. 5 games in, already played 2 of our direct rivals for a top 6 and 2 title challengers (if you can call chelsea that) and a good points haul so far. Looking forward to the rest of the season with optimism now!.

Well well well; no one will slate the manager or the team performance today! And I have in the past

Howard-6.5-Being generous because of the result, he was too far off his line for their goal.

Coleman-9-Take a bow, had Hazard in his pocket al day, was great ar keeping the ball, even when he had 4 players around him he would somehow still keep it. Brilliant today Seamus 👍.

Stones-9.5-With all the talk of the occasion, he was an absolute boss today, bullied Costa with Jagielka, we t past people, just sheer brilliance. Was made up when we scored too, love him.

Jagielka-9.5-Also bullied Costa, really underrated pace, great tackle i. The second half when Costa looked clean through, great today.

Galloway-9-Not as much going forward but great cross for the first goal, was solid in everything he did, class.

McCarthy-8.5-Did a bit of everything today, did it all very well too, helped out the defenders, had a shot, some good passes.

Barry-9-Had a stormer on and off the ball, not much to say, dominate in the air and played some great passes out wide.

Besic-6-Shame about his injury, hope he is okay.

Barkley-9-Two assists and kept it very well when under pressure, few wrong decisions but nothing overly bad, did what was needed. Considering he didn't have as much freedom he was class.

Kone-8.5-Held it up well and caused Zouma problems whenever he had the ball, my Ivorian prince.

Lukaku-7-Even though he barely had any service he was a nuisance to the Defence.

Naismith-10-Can't fault a perfect hattrick, don't think I saw him give it away once, won headers all day against Zouma and Ivanovic, well done Naisy, phenominal.

Lennon-6.5-Worked hard as usual when he came on.

Funes Mori-6.5-Wow can he jump! Carried the ball forward late on and made some great clearances.

Overall I was made up with that performance, the fans were brilliant and actually got behind the team. I criticised the team before the game but wow, we were brilliant.

Are you really going to criticise Tim for that goal!? C'mon Swan don't be silly! Apart from that spot on!!

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Sep 2015 19:38:44
I've seen it back 4 times now mate and he is about 6-7 yards off his line. Not the first time players have noticed it and scored.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Sep 2015 21:09:52
Swan he could have been standing anywhere you like with Robles alongside him and it probably would have been a goal. Stop looking for faults that don't exist we all know you're not keen on Howard. You don't need to keep reminding us. :)

12 Sep 2015 21:31:06
On motd, watch the goal again, you will see.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Sep 2015 21:50:01
I saw it 2 or 3 times. The fact that he was not standing on his goal line means nothing. What keeper does!? It was a fantastic unbelievable strike and a goal. I doubt any keeper in the world would have saved it. Give Tim a break. He does make mistakes like all keepers but that wasn't one of them!! Anyway I'm too happy to argue and the rest of your ratings were spot on! Glad you rated Barry high too as thought he was awesome today!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Sep 2015 22:19:35
I think if Howard had been nearer his line the goal would have looked worse as the angle would have been easier for the attacker but in any event there's no goalkeeper in the world who would have been stuck on his line with the ball 30 yards out so I don't think it's fair to call it a mistake sometimes goals are just great. Starting to look like it might be a good season but let's keep our feet on the ground and see where we are after 10 games.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Sep 2015 09:59:56
And I think if Barkley had closed down Matic in the first place instead of standing there watching, Matic wouldn't of got the shot away.So I wouldn't put it down to Howards fault.

Superb by the lads today.Who are the dopes putting up the plane with the banner? Shame on them. The club has a good squad at the moment.Probably just need one more player, a playmaker to replace Barkley if he gets injured.

The two games that the idiots hired the plane have seen us play well and take maximum points. I'm thinking of having a whip round and having one flown over every game until the end of the season!

Agree3 Disagree0

12 Sep 2015 23:00:58
The point of the plane I think is because Bill is ill and yes that is a tragedy but board wise the ship is rudderless because Bill does not appear to allow deputisation. As for the Team playing well, that is all we have asked of this talented Squad but we have needed a Manager that recognises that just perhaps his philosophy and tactics sometimes needs tweaking to meet different situations.

12 Sep 2015 23:09:11
you may disagree but my man of the match today, leaving out our superb defence (Funes, Stones, Jagielka)was Barkley, when this lad plays like that our side is tuned.

12 Sep 2015 14:47:52
WOW, Well I wasnt expecting that, what a performance from the boys today, just need to keep playing like this and we will have a good season. I don't think I seen howard make a save! if it wernt for their keeper we could have ran out 5, 6-1 winners today.

long may it continue

I'm done for good with Martinez

I don't care if we win 5-0 somehow. We have 3 of the packets and talented wingers in the premisr league

delboy kev and Lennon.

omg as I type Naismith scores get in.

But starting Besic and Kone on the wing pains me. I love Besicbut not on the wing. gutted about his injury.
