Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

12 Jun 2013 20:27:15
Why are we so eager to get rid of players?
Yes jelly had a bad season, but that's because once Moyes worked out how to bugger him up he did. Was never good with strikers. I believe he will come good under Robbie.
Felli leave alone, why sell your best player? That's not progression.
Oh and by the way Mc Carthy very good young player who will carry on improving. Could see him and Ross running the midfield in a couple of years time.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Say what you want bout jelavic being made to run the flanks, he was blowing chunks after 5mins of coming on the pitch, his stats wernt even close to felliani and others in terms of km covered when he was starting so trust me it wernt that.

MikeDeBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Id agree but barkley needs to step up his game a bit

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2013 08:49:57
I agree old man.

The poster who stated about Barkley needs to step his game up though, he hasn't been given many chances to find form or experience with a consistent run mate, hopefully RM will see his potential and get him in the game a bit more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post Twoold, I agree that the jellyman may yet re-find his form under RM. Moyes was consistent if nothing else with strikers, take a proven goal scorer, wreck their confidence and have them running the channels all game.

As for Felli, personally I like most would want him to stay, but I think that is out of our (and Robbie's) Hands, I think it depends more on what Felli's old man gets up to with other clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be very interesting to see how RVP and Hernandez get on next season under what'shisname.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2013 11:29:35
RVP is that good he could play well under Alan Pardew {Ed007's Note - WHOAH!!!! Now just bloody hold on there, Degsys!!! Put the pint down...and slowly move away from the bar, we can talk this through, nice and easy, mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Mike, forwards shouldn't cover the distance mids do, they are there to score goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

So your saying fowards are not as fit?haha, if you read what i'm saying, he's air shot a number of timees and fell kicking the ball because he was so out of breath, this was coming on as a sub aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2013 20:21:16
Defiantly don't want anyone past the age of 27/28 we need younger talent were we'll get our money's worth. Heard a lot of strong rumours that Martinez is getting 22-25 million to spend

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I absolutely 100% agree with you

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2013 20:16:56
Not that I think for one second that McMannaman is world class but I would not say no at the same time looks like he has some ability. What is annoying me is the he is poo because we released him remarks. Please feel free to look at the long list of class players we have released. What you are at 16, you might not be at 20 and vice versa. Ignorant remarks IMO. Barca let Fabergas go at 18 would we not accept him because he got released by a club as a youngster?

Svenny

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He got released because of his attitude, that horror tackle showed his borderline tempramant

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2013 19:17:30
Depay from psv looks quality, young aswell. We should definatley go for him! Also get fer and de vrij from holland

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There's a lot of talent in Holland and at good prices. Some very decent strikers and attack minded midfielders.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes there is a lot of talent in the Eredivise:
-Eriksen (Centre Mid)
-Adam Maher (Centre Mid)
-Leroy Fer (Centre Mid)
-Georginio Wijnaldum (Centre Mid)
-Jordy Clasie (Centre Mid)
-Kevin Strootman (Centre Mid)
-Wilfried Bony (Striker)
-Nacer Chadli (Winger)
-Luciano Narsingh (Winger)
-Filip Duricic (Centre Mid)
-Jeremain Lens (Winger)
-Kolbeinn Sigporsson (Striker)
-Stefan de Vrij (Centre Back)
-Luc Castaignos (Striker)
-Jetro Willems (Full Back)

They would all be great signings IMO (not saying we'd get all of them like). Forgive me though if any of them have moved clubs & forgive me if anyone of the positions are wrong.

Reckon morata is in our reach? Young striker and that boy can finish. Quick and may want to move from madrid if next manager doesn't see him in his plans!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Jun 2013 22:26:58
Do you just spend your time looking at players from real madrid and barca and if they are below the age of 20 then we have to sign them? Morata is 19 or only just turned 20 he is future for real we will not get him or any players you ever mention although wouldn't mind granero from qpr

Agree0 Disagree0

Granero, one of the biggest flops of the season, probably on 70k because he came from real Madrid, are you deluded?

Sell :
Fellaini to arsenal for 23m
Heitinga 4m
Gueye 2m
Neville free

Buy :
Alcaraz free
Soldado or negredo 16m
Honda 2m
Fer 6m
Mcmanaman 4'm

Neville isn't going anywhere on a free, he is retiring

Every decade there is a club or clubs that dominate so much that everyone thinks will ruin the game. man utd, Liverpool, Blackburn, Chelsea, man city and believe it or not Everton.

We were known as the Mersey millionaires and simple use to buy the best players and no one else could compete with us.

Merseyside was thought to be ruining football in the 80's until Blackburn were slated in the 90's for spending masive amounts of money and buying the league.

Then it was Chelsea and now man city.

Out of all this we are only behind arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United in titles. It will come around again at some point. Imagine what blues thought when we were relegated. If some of the doomsdayers on here were around then the suicide rate for blues would be a pandemic.

We're still the 6th best team in the country and will continue to improve. We have a competitive squad that will improve this summer. Genuine international players. Fantastic support. If you asked any of the clubs outside the top 7 last season who's position you would want to be in, ours or theirs and with who's players, they would choose us everytime.

Get a grip, stay positive, concentrate on the football and the rest at whatever point will take care of itself.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Deluded - champions league format has rigged league into a two tier system

It's now impossible for clubs to break into it unless they have a billionaire - and united have even closed that door with the fair play rules

Big yawn now because fertile and his pals in Uefa have spoilt it all - do we really want to see 2 or 3 teams winning league for next hundred years?

Fans should be complaining on radio phone ins etc

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2013 17:56:33
Jeez I wouldn't give £3 for bendtner. I'd expect somebody of his quality to pay us for the chance to play for a team as great as ours.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Row 'Z' Nick has been threatening to reach his potential for years!

Why on Earth would we buy a player who literally couldn't hit the side of a double deck bus?

The flippin thought of it makes me reach for the aspirins and darkened room : (

To be honest I think it will be the usual scenario when it comes to summer signings, Fellaini will go on the last day of the transfer window, on the same day we will maybe make one signing and a couple of loans, been an Everton fan 40 years, seen it all before, especially with this board, not trying to be negative but just because we have a change of management it doesn't suddenly mean the club has untold riches, far from it, fingers crossed though {Ed025's Note - if thats not being negative...i dont know what is..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fellaini has a clause in his contract which prevents this from happening, allegedly. It is said that the clause can only be activated before a certain date to ensure we don't lose him near the end of the window and thus prevent us from adequately replacing him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd call that realistic!

Agree0 Disagree0

Negative or just prediicting the usual scenario? let's see eh, new manager and new attitude from the board?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ask Mike, Ed. :D

Agree0 Disagree0

Holding out for a better price or waiting till interest is low isn't a bad tactic. If we didn't do this then we wouldn't have bought fellaini or mirallas.

I would say though that for this season I would Like them earlier to get preseason with their new manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why the negativity

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2013 15:15:18
why not go for niklas bendter from arsenal. they value him at 3 million, younger than kone and maybe worth a shot!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Didn't we reject £10m plus Bendtner for Arteta and just take the £10m? If so why would we want him now can't hit a barn door.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe as 2nd/3rd choice but no way as 1st choice for me

Or come back to merry old England and PL footy with all it's splendour excitement and worldwide coverage and exposure?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2013 16:12:11
I have to say lads that apart from fer (who is unproven in our league) some of the names getting bandied around do not fill me with excitement. To be honest neither does our choice of manager. I will back him 100% but i'll be eagerly awaiting to see who his number 1 target is as this will show us what he thinks the team needs to progress.
Good luck Rob

Believable0 Unbelievable0

True, but looking at Moyes reign as a whole, how many of his signings did? Not many in my view, but most have come good.

I know we've moved on and we're no longer in Simon Davies territory, but I think we have to be realistic about who we can afford, and attract (no European football for instance)

Lets hope, whoever Martinez is really after, we improve and can attract players with European football soon

He's a young forward loves to score and looks sheer quality, the real deal

We don't need to sell felli to pay banks or sell felli to have money to spend, we have a bit of money around 25 mill I believe, and just complaining about ken wright and stuff, let's get behind the blues the manager and the board and welcome the 3-5 signings we make with open arms whoever they are! I wouldn't mind seeing us have a go for Jermaine Defoe, I know he's 30 but he's still a prolific goal scorer and he manages to bag 10/15 goals a season. He's not getting his game at tottenham, think he would be around 5-7 million aswell, well better signing than kone.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Trying to bring the age down! There are better younger players out there.

Agree0 Disagree0

No pun intended, Twoold.

I'd have Defoe in a heartbeat proven goalscorer

All these speculation are good for the read but we only need two or three quality player not wigans dros maybe McCarthy or mcmanaman but the rest belong in the champion ship I would like to see benteke or a proven goal scorer arrive we are pretty solid everywhere else

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Benteke? We don't stand a chance our best shot is the "next benteke"

Sod benteke go for somebody cheaper like jelle vossen. He may be unproven but is class.

12 Jun 2013 11:19:48
Do I want a billionare to take us over. YES. some fans believe we don't need one and that's fair in respect to them. Reason I want one is because football has changed it will never be the same again as in the 70, s 80, s and early 90, s money took over the game fact loyalty is on the verge of extinction and even the powers that be in football are revelling in it. We have a very good youth system at Everton and it is something we all can be proud of but in reality it is not enough because money can turn players heads and we lose them fact Rooney as an example. You can not keep putting all the money from player sales back into the team at a club like ours because we spend nearly 80 pence from every pound earned on wages and new players need paying two so it is like a selling your best tv and getting a cheaper 1 but without the same quality sometimes it works but most of the time not. I would love football to go back to the way it was when there were 10 teams who had a chance of winning the old division 1 that was a time when managers really earned there stripes because they had to really coach there team and organise them to go on and win a trophy every year nowadays managers by what they need at the likes of City, Utd, Chelsea, and even Arsenal now are saying there going to spend big, let's stay with Arsenal for a minute but there is a chance they could be sold to a multi billionare Russian who I heard is willing to pay a billion quid for the club now how the hell lads can we compete with that. Spurs have spent a nice few quid over the last few years not like the clubs mentioned above but a decent few quid either way and are failing to get CL football and if this takeover goes through at Arsenal well i'm afraid it looks like the top four will be made up of Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Utd, for many years to come it is sad I know but it will be reality. Bill Kenwright would of being a perfect owner if we were back in the 80, s yes he has done a brilliant job stabling our club to the point that we will never get relagated under him but the man said it him self that he can not give us the tools to challenge for the league again and that is nothing to be ashamed of in my view but just a statement of the fact how much football has changed. Yes the new owner has to be right for Everton as some takeovers were terrible and destroyed clubs but that is the 1 thing I know Bill won't let happen he will make sure that whenever he hands over the keys to a billionare it will be the right one so when people say Bill won't sell until he can line his own pockets that is rubbish. I just hope our fans never force him to sell to just anybody because we will be screwed have patience Bill will come good in the end I really believe so.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good stuff Stef and pretty accurate too!

The silver lining is for me, as you touch on here,

That we have now got the benefit of experience about good and bad decisions in the world of club takeovers, yes and with all due respect to the much loved clubs by their supporters some of the buyouts have turned into quite traumatic disasters to say the least.

We as fans have our part to play in this as well.

A cool hard pragmatic approach to this and not knee jerk ' he's well rich let him buy us out ffs ' attitude.

Nani 8.5 mil
Fer 8 mil

I sort of agree that Fer could still be a target. We've changed manager but what we need and the financial market we're playing in haven't.

Nani? 8.5 million, moyes will carry on the man u everton link, and I think we should go for nani.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No thanks, we could spend 8.5m a lot better than that

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we want a player on top wages who utd fans and manager don't ratea lazy player who turns it on now and again, as for special relationship all one way traffic they take rooney we get a load of crocks

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks, we've already got better in Pienaar and Mirallas. Nani is vastly over-rated and we could get better players for £8.5m. Nacer Chadli is one. I'd even take McGeady and McManaman (Steve and Callum) before Nani.

Agree0 Disagree0

My only worry about trading with man u is that I don't want to give them any leverage on a poss transfer involving Baines.

Nani is a good player and I would say that 8. 5 is good value. I just don't fancy doing business with man u right now out of fear of losing our best player.

Toffee ace.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wernt blue union mate, evertonions who think your precious bk is not good enough to run everton and back it up with facts that prove it. all u get off use is he loves the club and we don't want to end up like pompey and Leeds. he's inept and not fit. don't insult fans who care just as much as u and are prepared to ask these questions.

And the facts would be?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2013 09:54:08
We are all passionate supporters on here. Let me ask you a question. If you were worth say 100 million. Would you say ok I will pay off the clubs debt and let them pay me back interest free over 10-20 years?. I know I would. Ask the same question to a couple of our board and you would not get the same answer. That is the main issue I have with our club.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Our board don't have 100 mil in the bank and not many people do. Money they have will be in investments and assets like the club's shares.

And no they can't sell the clubs shares to then clear the debt as then they wouldn't own the club.

It's easy saying you would do this or that but you're living in dream land if you think it's that easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you cleared the debts the club would make money

Agree0 Disagree0

People who are worth 100 million, does not mean they have 100 million in the bank, it's based on all assets owned.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I won 140 million on the lottery I would give the club the extra 40. I don't need all that money and would only demand a box for life. Nobody else would get money I just love the club that much.

Nani for £8.5m why not!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wages would be a problem

Dont fancy paying north of 100k a week, to a player, who to me, is essentially a luxury player.

Produces glimpses of brilliance every couple weeks, then for the rest is complete and utter garbage.

I would love Nani at our club mate, don't know what his wages currently are but I bet they are around 100k p/w. how long does he have left oj contract at MU

I have a feeling though that he may be watching the Monte Carlo rally from the balcony on his new apartment next year, big bucks and all tax free, if you only knew when you were a kid that footballers would be so well off you would have sacked school off and played footie for 6 hours a day.

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Wages would be a serious problem. Would imagine it would be over 100k a week, which is far too much for Everton, especially since it is Nani, who I don't rate that highly to begin with.

Doesn't fit the Everton mould for me, he is a talented player, but extremely lazy and seems to have an attitude from what I have heard and seen

Agree0 Disagree0

Poor mans Ronaldo, so yes I suppose he would do us.

I would love ths team next season
Howard
Coleman. Jags Alcaraz Baines

Mirallas. Fer. Barkley. Mcmanaman
Fellani
NEGRADO

Subs Gibson. Pienaar. Osman new keeper mcCathy mcAleny distan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I wouldn't have fellaini behind the striker. he a defensive midfielder. Is it any surprise helavic struggled last season. when cahill played season before he flicked everything to jela and he scored. last season fella took ball on his chest and played it out to wing to get in the box. poor jelavic then had to run into channels to recieve the ball. hence he had a bad season. he needs ball flicked to him and he will score. he has gone from goalscoring hero to every1 wanting him sold. under martinez he will score.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why drop distin when he been one of our better defenders for the last few seasons

Agree0 Disagree0

Distin is better than Alcaraz for me. Alcaraz is a decent back up, but not a starter, especially for a side chasing top 4.

Change Barkley for Fellaini as well, hate watching Fellaini as an attacking mid, don't get me wrong, does a decent job, but knowing his quality as a defensive mid, such a waste playing him as an attacking mid. And Barkley isn't a centre mid for me, he is an attacking mid.

Agree0 Disagree0

As good as Distin is he's getting on and will need replacing sooner rather than later.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree about jelly if I remember correctly, he did seem to play better and score morewhen cahill was playing.

Barkley didn't show enough to warrant a first team slot last year, gives the ball away in daft places and gets to over excited at times, should be coming off the bench more though this year at least

Howard Coleman Jagielka Alcaraz Baines

Fellaini Fer

Mcgeady Pienaar Mirrallas

Negredo

What a team if you ask me!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mignolet6. 5M, Coleman, Baines, Jagielka, Hector Moreno10M. , Gibson, Osman (McCarthy7M. ), Diame3. 5M, Miralas, Pienar, Jelavic (Bony7M, Benteke20M. )

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do most people want to leave Gibson out of the team, we are a far better team with him in it and he is more likely to fit in the Martinez style of football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Diame's a good shout, only £3. 5M quality player good defensive mid in place of Osman and good squad player as we have lost a CM in Hitzlsperger. Played under Martinez at Wigan and is only 25!
