Hi Eds, as much as I want David Moyes to stay and have funds to take us further, the reality is that it appears more and more likely that he will leave.
The question is that knowing the way he operates which seems to be quite methodical and with intent, do you think that he already has a deal lined up?

I hope not but something is telling me this, which would be extremely sad.

Just throwing this out there, but with all this speculation about Feli and Baines looking to leave, do you think they have been given the heads up?

AW {Ed025's Note - its hard to say mate...i personally think he will stay, and baines as well..

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I hope so to. It just seems strange that he won't sign.
Fingers x he will.
I think he is well respected and loved by the majority of Evertonians.
I really wish I had the money to give him to push the club even further up league.
AW

Agree0 Disagree0

He did exactly the same last time. Except that he stated, "I will think about signing at the end of the season when everything is done and dusted. I do not wish to distract the focus of the players at this important time by negotiating my own contract. I want the players to concentrate on the job of securing our highest possible league position. "
Whilst I might not have it word for word, I am guessing he is doing exactly the same again.

WE HAVE LIMITED FUNDS, MAYBE MOYES HAS NOT BEEN ALLOWED TO SPEND AS IF HE LEAVES THE NEW MANAGER WILL NEED THE MONEY TO REBUILD, FELLI WILL LEAVE AS WELL

I was talking to a Dutch guy earlier on FIFA and he was a FC Twente supporter and had Leroy Fer in his team, so I took the liberty of asking him about Fer and he informed me he is not really that good a player (but he liked him on FUT) and has a dodgy knee. He also said Joop Munsterman was a bit of a buffoon. Make of it what you will, but it could be that we made the correct decision in not signing him. Only time will tell.

I played for years in the Birkenhead Sunday League Division 7. For a team called Oakdean. A really high standard. We often played 2. 1. 7 with me being the sole midfielder. It kept me busy and we often got results. Mainly because other teams matched our set up. The most common score was about 20 all!

I can't wait for us to be on telly next season in the Champions league, it's going to be great, I really hope we don't get another person referee like last time.
With the FA cup in the bag and a nice charity shield match to look forward to before the season starts, it's going to be another great year to be a Blue!

I hope we have a great group in the CL - Barca, Juve, Munich and Ajax, put them all to the Everton sword.

How can this happen you may ask?

3 points each at chelsea and Tottenham - We've done it before and can again.

3 points at home to City - no problem, best record of any team.

Draw at the Arse - Bogey team

Draw at Analfield - inevitable

15 - 18 points out of the remaing games (other than above) = Job done!

See. we can be positive!

Wat moyes has done over the last ten years is brilliant and that's an understatement. But he can't seem to get a striker to play our style of football. Beattie, Johnson. Yakubu that's the weakest point in our team. Also moyes needs to come out and give us fans the answer is he going or staying. Over to you moyes

Believable3 Unbelievable1

There's one who fits the bill nicely, Mr. Shrek Rooney

Agree0 Disagree0

Yakubu was scoring freely until he got injured.
Ste Old Swan

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes turns all our strikers into work horses and target men and it ruins there instinct. Andy Johnson could score goals he was a 6 yard striker. Moyes made him run the channels like a maniac. Beattie was a goalscorer, Moyes made him be a target man to allow Cahill space in the box. Yakubu was nothing but a finisher in the box. Moyes made him graft and be a target man, when they didn't do this Yakubu especially he would drop them, kill there confidence and eventually they move on.
I'm getting worried Jelavic is going the same way, this season he has bust a gut chasing full backs and trying to win the ball in the air when he should be just in the box finding space and waiting for the ball.
Knew it would happen to be honest

Everton have tried a system which has by and large worked for most of the season. with Felli behind the striker, but clubs are now wise to the way we play and we should have a plan B, which really might even be our better plan. playing Mirallas alongside Jelavic (who as a striker should not have to run himself into the grave, when you want him to be sharp in the last third) with Coleman giving some width on the right would give us more options. allowing Fellaini to play in his preferred position which arguably is still his best place. I don't like hearing "he is one for the future". great players like Colin Harvey and Ryan Giggs were blooded young. so give Stones a shot, and Barclay should definitely be recalled with some of our players tired out. The statistic about Moyes not winning away at the big clubs means either the players were never good enough or the tactical formation shouted. "defence first. " I would love us to go to Top Clubs with a mentality of not being afraid. and letting at least one of our talented youngsters be given a go to give us new edge going into the last phase of the season

Oscar

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Good past that mate, I liked it.
I would love to see us play Mirallas up top, you made a great point about Mirallas running the lines, defending, doing his managers orders no-less. But I do agree that this would certainly take it out of him at the other end of the field.
The trouble is, I just don't think we have the squad or players for that to happen. I do like Coleman, his energy is great, and he's improved loads, especially with his crossing, but him and Stones on the right side at the moment would have no premier league quality. ( I am not doubting Stones, or Moyes for signing him, if I did I would clearly be an person, as Moyes signings generally work out excellent) Whilst we do have options on the right ( Osman, Pienaar, Anichebe, even Oviedo) I think we've found that these players are much more effective elsewhere. Osman goes missing when out wide, and can dictate play sometimes when through the middle. We all know about baines and pienaar, Anichebe has learnt how to hold the ball up, when up top, and should now be learing how to bulldoze people. And I personally would like to see a bit more of Oviedo as he's looked pacy, direct, and quite good technically. I can only think moyes has his down as a pienaar replacement. ( Only due to pienaar being over 30, no other reason)
Its frustaring not seeing Mirallas upfront, but we all know Moyes will not play 2 strikers ( again, not complaining as this is how we've played for years now and the team understand it the most) and I think Kevin would get clattered up top on his own. Again, I may be wrong, but I wouldn't personally think Mirallas would be good enough up top on his own for us to push for a higher league place.
Awkward one at the moment because Jela's gone off the boil, Victor's improving but again can go missing, and we don't have a massive squad.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Naismith. But again i'll be honest, seems an ok squad player, and I realise he's been out for ages, and he's adjusting from an awful league, but I still don't think he's good enough for everton, not if we seriously want to finish fourth.

Anyways blues, we'll keep on battling and let's hope we get that fourth spot. Just for the cash it would bring. I'd bite your hand off for a europe league space and the change to play in it next year, as those games against Standard, Metalist and Fiorentina were unreal, but the cash just doesn't seem worth it unfortunatly!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree completely with Oscar. It is about time Moyes trusted in young players like Duffy, Barkley and Stones etc. We are tired of players like Heitinga, Howard and Neville who lack pace and creativity. If we don't get a place in Europe this season then I think we will be saying goodbye to Baines and Fellaini

I just had some great fun putting some posts on the Red's Banter Page. Nothing rude or too much below the belt. Just 30 odd years of mickey taking from them returned to them as an honest assessment of where their club is now.
You should see some of their replies. They will all be on medication if things get any worse! Well worth a look. LOL

Don't know if anyone else saw Sky's Monday Night Football, but David Moyes was a studio guest. I missed the pre-match chat and didn't watch most of the match (why would an Everton fan want to watch Liverpool?), but enjoyed the missed penalty, the two West Brom goals, and the post-match discussion. There was a Q&A session at the end - usual stuff for DM about best player he's signed (Nigel Martyn), comparing current team with 2005 team (current are better footballing team, but 2005 team could grind out 1-0 wins), etc. , etc. - but nothing about him signing new contract. unless that was discussed pre-match. I suspect that the subject was explicitly off the agenda at DM's insistence. Does that make me a conspiracy theorist?

Moyes and baines will sign new deals. baines 29 in may huge outlet in money 20 million plus 25 mill in wages, no sell on. moyes will sign short deal, do you honestly think city and Chelsea suit moyes not a chance, it's going to be utd when he leaves everton

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't understand why moyes would want to go to anfield and sit and watch them lot and comment on them.
it beggars belief. similarly why would sky want him either. He is not exactly a barrell of laughs is he?
very strange. I would rather staple my scrotum to my forehead than watch that shower of sh**e.

Utd signed RVP £24m, on a £40m contract, age 29? So Baines would be a bargain in comparison, and they can easily afford it. Alright, it's a different position but if they really wanted him they could sign him no problem

Net spend of ever-present clubs in the Premier League since 2002/03 - David Moyes' first full season in charge at Goodison Park.

Chelsea £526.5m

Manchester City £441.7m

Liverpool £173.8m

Tottenham £173.7m

Manchester United £155.4m

Aston Villa £103.7m

Arsenal £32.7m

Fulham £27.3m

Everton £13.9m

Which must mean that our debt is either because we're spending more on wages (and other running costs) than we earn AND/OR we had a big debt inherited from the Agent Johnson era.

The names James. My bad, first time post.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we must spend more on wages. or look at the other clubs. they have the Champions League money worth 25-50 million per year and or wealthy owners pumping money in. This is why Liverpool may now struggle. Their owners have some other USA based club to run so cannot hive monies off to give Liverpool and without Champions League monies will have to spend at the same sort of levels as us!

If all these rumours are true about fellaini and baines saying to Chelsea come and get me and baines saying he wants out if we don't get champions league he wants out the need to remember where they come from us fans pay there wages and remember everton made them as good as they are now if I was moysey I would put them in the reserves and bring them back down to earth and have more respect for there fellow team mates makes me sick

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Let them go m8 players come and go all the time, we've had good service from the pair and get dosh plus lukaku then use the dosh to get bentake and fer,,,, #stronger team

Agree0 Disagree0

People questioning baines, need to give him more respect, there hasn't been one quote or one reliable source attached to him about wanting a move,. if he dose go in the summer it will be about ambition 2 play champions league not money. it's goes back to the board again to show how much they want it. if there's no ambition from above moyes and players will leave. for me baines shows everything that is good in a footballer

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's be realistic if everton don't finish
Fourth felli an baines wil be off if champions league clubs come calling with decent bids we won't be able to stop them what's important is replacing
Them because losing our top scorer and top creator means we must put all our efforts into getting a big name striker or two if we want to keep pace with rest
Moyes must be given any fees to replace them and we must look to the top end of the market if this does not happen Moyes wil be off let's hope we
Finish fourth an all will be rosy

You know, all this gloom over a defeat is geeting me down. Yes, we've been beaten by Chelski and now Utd. and yes those draws when the experts said we should be winning. The players probably know themselves that they are short of where Moyses wants them to be. But get off the gloom wagon will you. All teams have ups and downs in form, the better teams just make it shallower. EFC are in a dip of form. The aim now is for Everton to come out fighting in the next match. 12 matches to go, each one of them a cup final. Expect no easy matches. Expect tight games with low scores. All I ask of the players is to play through this poor form patch and rally around for the few matches left. We've got very good players, a real chance fo qualifying for Europe so let's get behind oor beloved EFC instead of bitching on about this or player.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

No idea why everybody is so gloomy for as let's face it we have no right to be even competing with Manchester United and Chelsea let alone beating them. When we spend 100m plus on players then i'll be gloomy about not beating them.
