Thanks a bunch for Deadly Arteta ... Class act!!

Gooner96 {Ed025's Note - you have got a good player there mate...i hope he does well for you....except when you play us...lol..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Is this meant to be a bragging kind of note? To be honest it still might be a better deal for us than Arsenal.
Everyone at Everton seemed to play better this weekend without Arteta - like everyone upped their game whereas before they probably thought Arteta would do something special to rescue a game - whereas he hardly ever did.
He's been underperforming for quite a while.
Wonder whether he'll keep it up at Arsenal? He was always going to bust a gut to start with.

Fact is arsenal may well soon be joining Everton in the non-champions league positions, and if that happens Arsenal might do a Leeds and we'll buy Jack Wilshire off you instead :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Deadly Arteta? Is that what the gooners are calling him? Consider this, the general feeling amongst Evertonians is that selling Arteta was good business. We are all relieved that it wasn't Jags, Felli, Cahill etc. As important as Arteta was, his best years are behind him (about 2 seasons behind him) and we got good money for a player of his age and with his injury record.

You lot on the other hand are going on as if you've signed Messi on a free!

Thanks for Deadly Arteta? Thanks for being too tight to buy Jags and then letting us squeeze £10million out of you for a near 30 year old who's never played for his country! {Ed025's Note - i hear what you say..but i would still like to have kept him, after all...."hes the best little spaniard we know"..

HELP. I need some advice.
I've been supporting the Blues for 50 years now and a Season Ticket Holder in the Upper Bullens. I've some relatives coming up from down South who support the R******e and want me to arrange to go on a tour of A*****d. They would like me to go with them as it is their first visit to the City and I don't want to disappoint them especially as the are a couple of children with them. What should I do? Should I take them or not and if I do what precautions should I take? {Ed025's Note - yes you should take them!...but you must point out, that the ground is a mausoleum..in memory of what was..a big club....ancient history, is vital in the development of young minds..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Make sure you are wearing your everton shirt to insulate yourself, you will also need to say a quick prayer to dixie to watchover you, eat Everton mints throughout your time in there it will mask the smell of the place. Attend at Goodison as soon as possible afterwards and you should be fine. Good Luck and try not to breathe too much while you are in there.

I was very impressed with Tim up front yesterday. when I saw the teamsheet I was hoping Bily/Ossie was playing there and not Fellaini, and I was pleasantly surprised. We'll spank Wigan if we play like that. {Ed025's Note - we should have spanked villa!...

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We did spank villa they just got lucky if we had of got the penalty which we should have when it was 1-0 it would have been completely different I think the league needs a whole new load of referees !

Think Moyes needs to tell Barkley to calm himself at times, I for one rate him highly and think he's a sensational talent HOWEVER, yesterday in the game he made he great run BUT just wouldn't pass the ball despite having options, I think he's trying TOO hard to impress, still think he's better than Rodwell...was he even on the pitch yesterday?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rodwell played well yesterday as did most of the everton team, rodwell might step into the void left by arteta and may step up to the mark this season

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - thought he did ok....felli was the main man for me...and bainsy...of course bez..

Agree0 Disagree0

Been saying the same about Barkley all season, he looks good but does want to win it on his own all the time. The amount of times he could have played the easy ball but instead lets fly with a wild one is unbelievable. He will learn....hopefully! {Ed025's Note - give the guy a break, hes only a young lad! with the lack of signings this summer, it has put a lot of pressure on the likes of ross to perform, in an ideal world, he would be introduced gradually, and i myself think he has done a stirling job, after being thrown in at the deep end!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not having a dig Ed, the lad looks class. Just needs to look for the easy ball rather than pulling the trigger all the time. Let's hope WE can hold on to him and for once get to see the benefits. {Ed025's Note - that would be good..i think he has a great future ahead...hopefully with us!..

deeeve

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dont like dongs myself mate bu whatever takes ur fancy, lol {Ed025's Note - whats a dong?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't act all innocent Ed, you know what a dong is. {Ed001's Note - you ever thought he might actually be innocent? If it had been some of the other eds I would have thought the wings were because he was a fairy. But with 025 it is clearly because he is an angel...... honest.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I know he's still to prove himself but the highlights I saw when I got back from holiday looked promissing, however to the same tune and insert "our Royston Drenthe, he's the best little dutchman we know" and something at the back of my mind tells me there was a Denis the Menace song, off to do some research. I will post back here later if successful.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed,

I found the Dennis the Menace Song Lyrics, I don't want the site to get in trouble as they are copywrited and I have included that bit below with some of the lyrics as I'm not sure what you are allowed to publish. However to the matter in hand our Denis (given up trying to spell his last name) looks as though he could be a handful and menace other teams back lines so I'm sure there are more lyrical blues out there that can weave some magic into the below and make it more football/everton orientated.

And sorry I don't know the tune.

Rosemary Clooney - Dennis The Menace LyricsAlbum: MiscellaneousSend "Dennis The Menace"
DENNIS THE MENACE
Rosemary Clooney/Jimmy Boyd

Dennis, the menace, he's a bundle of dynamite
Oh, the things he says and the things he does
Will make you shake with fright
(Beware of) Dennis the menace
Oh, you'd better be on your toes
There is bound to be a calamity no matter where he goes
His mom and dad get nervous
Whenever he's too quiet
They never know what will happen next
A cyclone, flood or rot
Dennis the menace, though he makes your hair turn gray
When he looks at you with those eyes of blue
He'll steal your heart away

I thought much better performance today - cahill even helped his strike partner to score and Rodwell did try more than simple passes.
But - downsides - not enough challenging for 50-50 balls - and when do challenge not winning enough of them - villa won about 80pc of them I reckon - rodwell and felli both look a bit slow footed sometimes and need to be a bit busier in the tackling dept - jags needs to calm down a bit but still good player - and last not least - hibbo did well sometimes in attack but was woefull for second goal - he stood well off the winger and gave him masses of time for that pinpoint cross - hibbo thinks he only needs to stop guy getting past him to do his job but he also needs to stop the winger putting in good crosses as well.
Ps coleman v good and I'm not usually that keen on him - happily surprised :)

Brilliant performance, unlucky with some questionable referee decisions, shows we can play without Arteta, and definitely gave us confidence for the future. Youngsters were very good, Vellios and Barkley off the bench were very good, Coleman on his return was good also. Bring on Wigan, finally off to a semi-decent start, 4pts from 3 games is very good compared to previous seasons.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I enjoyed velios performance the most yesterday. I knew Drenthe would be exciting and we know what Ross can do, but Vellios showed glimpses of sheer class and talent that Anichebe couldn't even replicate on FIFA.

vellios really impressing me everytime ive saw him, think we should start with him next game.
Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Distin Baines

Coleman Fellaini Osman Drenthe

Cahill
Vellios

Believable1 Unbelievable0

So that was undoubtedly our best performance of the season.
Odds on the same team being picked next week? {Ed025's Note - 100-1..lol

I was against the protest walk, but defend their right to have it. However regardless of how many did or didn't turn up, I think that the Blue Union is distancing themselves from the ordinary supporter, and the clapping of the chairman was a disrect response to the pantomine boos that preceded it.
If you were to hold a poll today about whether or not everton should have a new owner, I reckon it would show about 90% maybe more want that, but Kenwright would also be voting in favour too.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

To me the club is not an attractive proposition unless the owner is a billionaire not looking for an investment return.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are £40 mill in debt, the bank will not give us any more money,we either function as a football club as we are or we go into administration. Unless there is a buyout there is no alternative unless the Blue Union can magic up some cash.
We are where we are so lets get on with it. I thought the crowds reaction to Bills'screen appearance was spot on. {Ed025's Note - good post mate..

Agree1 Disagree0

As long as it was the clapping and not the boo's. I agree, and just to show a bit of solidarity and in reference to the post further up about songs how about a quick chant at the Wigan game of "There's only Bill Kenwright" , because the post match interviews all show how much the players are behind Bill and understand the situation, it's time we joined in. Let's face it if Bill became a billionaire overnight would you want anyone else in charge of our club?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Bily? bily was one of our best players yesterday...

Pretty much all the players played well yesterday and i believe if we deploy billy in a more central role, we will see the best of him

For the first time in ages yesterday we had pace on both flanks, things are looking up for us now, i think we will get a good result against wigan next weekend

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I was also impressed with the way drenthe and Baines were swapping places, It could be a very dangerous left wing.

Agree1 Disagree0

I've heard that Nzogbia fella wishes he was a fast as Drenthe...

Agree0 Disagree0

I am glad we didn't sign n'zogbia, he has had a iffy start for villa and didn't look interested yesterday, drenthe on the other hand is going to be class

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - looks like a good miss bez....royston could be the main man...i hope..

Any news on fellanis contract situation yet? Not heard anything for a while!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It sounded at one point that he was about to sign a contract over the summer, but it has gone quiet, i hope it gets sorted soon as he was awesome yesterday

Bez the blue

Agree1 Disagree0

Fellaini controlled the game from midfield yesterday, he is a crucial part of our team especially now arteta has left.

with such good performance and scoring 2 goals we should be winning games at home , defence should be our strongest wrapon considering our limited options up front . If we perform like today attaking wise we should be inning games more often than not .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It is crucial that we beat wigan as we have a tough run of fixtures after that. If we play as well as yesterday we have a good chance of getting 3 points next weekend.

Bez the blue

Agree1 Disagree0

We must keep ourselves in the top half of the table and then hopefully sign a striker in January and make our usual push in the 2nd half of the season. Europa league qualification has to be our priority this season

Agree0 Disagree0

A ood cup will be great aswell, its also another way into europe! We looked good yesterday i think we will hve a good season! Coyb!

Agree2 Disagree0

We must make goodison a fortress like we did in the second half of last season, we must beat teams when we are on top in games if we want to get in the top 7

Agree0 Disagree0

I am reserving my judgement about how will we will do this season, it is too soon to tell as we have some tough fixtures ahead, although i have to admit we played our best football against the top teams last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even though the result wasn't great, I was very pleased by our play, our energy, our desire, and the players not quitting at any point in the game. If we play like this all season, I'll be very pleased.
