Hi eds anything on Marco Silva? The time it has taken to look for a manager is showing hopefully they are looking at every aspect of every manager on the shortlist/ longlist 😂😂😂good on them and hopefully it will pay off as I see it Unsworth is last resort as if he was going to be given the job he it would of been done so my now with him being in the club Etc?

{Ed025's Note - silva is certainly in the frame eddy and the betting fraternity seem to think so as well mate..

Think he would be perfect ed said before I wanted him if you can give him a transfer window so hopefully if he comes in it’s before jan and if not let Unsworth carry on.

{Ed025's Note - i think the guy is going places eddy, for me hes the next pochettino mate..

Of the so-called shortlist so far (I am playing Devils advocat (what ever happened to him) here) , quite ironic that the top two have presided over sides that got relegated, leaving Fonseca and Unsworth.

Yeah ed he could well be and he’s had the experience what we need fighting at the bottom too even though they went down he brought hull back to life and nearly saved them from a impossible position.

{Ed025's Note - he would certainly be on my shortlist eddy..

Hi Ed 025 further to my post the other day re taking our time to get a new manager in, do you feel we have the wheels in motion at the club to do this before the Palace game or are you as I am mate that it will take as long as it takes to get the right man for the job, i can see a lot of fans on here are getting frustrated as the time goes on, but this is so important we must all be patient and trust the board to make the the right decision which I am sure they will, thanks mate.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note- it will take as long as it takes GB, i dont think you can set a time or date on it as its about getting the right candidate for the job, it seems even the powers that be cant agree on things yet so it make take longer than what might seem ideal but thats just the way it goes mate..

Anyone know what the longest time a top flight club has continued without a manager during an active season?

When people talk about world class managers, how do you judge these guys, the usual suspects have one thing in common, they flirt between clubs like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, who would not do well managing those so called clubs, which makes me ask, would one of those managers cut it at Everton, or would the likes of Dyche, Eddie Howe be a better option, apart from Benetiz who went to Newcastle, all his previous clubs came from teams that had qualified for the Champions league before he took charge, so would one of these top managers really be able to manage a lesser team with promise and funds, or do we take a chance on Dyche or the like.

It doesn’t mater who we bring in if we leave the signing of players with Walsh he needs to go now.

I've been saying something similar for a long time Baz. It's all well and good top managers managing an Elite group of players who are already in the top few teams and already involved in the top competitions. I'd like to see if one of them could actually take an average team, for example Everton, and make them champions. I guess imho a fear of failure and what that could do to their reputation must be a drawback.

Danny Mills (football expert) apparently? On Pickfords display. "Other than two excellent saves in the first half, didn't have much too do". So marked him a seven. So in essence Danny he stopped us going two nil down, and out the game.
Yet RLC does a couple of little flicks in first half, and nothing in second, and he gets MOTM. Well done Danny, I bow to your expertise.

2 wrongs don't make a right Woburn. Keeper was great and man of the match award was spot on for RLC. Don't drop to DMs level.

All quiet on the manager front. Palace next week could be a pivotal point in our season. Win with a decent performance and we would be somewhere near mid table with some much needed confidence under our belts. And i truly believe confidence is our biggest issue at the moment. Our midfield and forwards need to chip in with some goals and confidence could be the catalyst for them to do that. Niasse and rooney should get 10 - 15 each this season.
Then give Unsy it till the summer, maybe look at a couple of loans in January, no9 and a CB.

Then back on it in the summer.

Loans are not going to be enough Smit. We desperately need to improve the defense, look how many goals we have let in so far this season. We need a new big and established center-back and a left-back to compete with Baines. The No9 position is obviously going to be a problem filling, especially in January. I hope that Walsh has done his homework and will unearth a gem. What we don't need is anymore No10's who Walsh or any one else at the club things can act as a No9.

11 Nov 2017 12:03:32
Agree but if we don't have a permanent manager who's going to want to sign for us. Loans may be the only way aswell as protecting our budget for the summer and the new manager.

And yet constant rumours of Walsh and his team looking at even more midfielders. I suspect that the majority as usual is just lazy journalism/ fake News but as they say no smoke without fire.

Yes and Kieran Dowell is going to come back for next season and the way he is playing for Forest we will have to find a place in the squad for him. We need defensive recruits and a #9. Hopefully the midfielder reports are a long way off the mark.

I think the midfielder reports are for the u21s the lad was only 20.

11 Nov 2017 19:00:24
Well Smit you presumably also know the plethora of midfielders we have in the Academy, under 21's and under 23's. As to defence those such as Garbutt still do not appear to get a look in.

Well you can never have too many midfielders BigDunc.
