Just like to clear something up lads, my Mum's cousin is a cleaner and she cleans houses etc. She used to clean Ryan Babel's house and she still cleans Steven Pienaar's house, anyway I asked her that next time she cleans Stevie's house to ask him a few questions about transfer targets and to also ask him about Jelavic getting into spats with players and whether it was true or not.

She last cleaned Pienaar's house about 3 weeks ago, and she usually starts at 7:30, unfortunately she wasn't able to ask him about any targets or that as he was in a rush to get to training, although she did ask about Jelavic and the rumours about him having fights with Fellaini and Mirallas...

He said that he hadn't heard of such rumours and laughed saying that Jelavic, Fellaini and Mirallas all get on really well together on and off the pitch. He said that Jelavic and Felli are really funny together and are a right pair. After all this he told my Mum's cousin that she shouldn't worry over silly rumours.

So just to clear up, any posts that we see saying Jelavic has had fights with other players, now we know they're BS.

Just been on a beeting site and they have us down as 5/4 fav to sign Charlie Austin 5/4 fav to sign vadis ofeo and 7/2 fav to sign lescott ?? Bookies are hardly wrong one of the eds said Milner deal was nearl done and 29/1 to sign him so so make what you want ?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Vadis ofeo is the only one of those I can see us signing, would love us to get welbeck. Is there any chance of Milner ed?

Dave EFC {Ed025's Note - that was info i got on new years eve dave, i dont know whether the injury to aguero has changed things, but we will just have to wait and see mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

People need to be patient, I mean we are talking deadline day, just how it works due to our finances, especially with these Man City players, they will wait until Jan 31 to let them go on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

We mustn't look at Milner. He is likeRay wIlkins The crab. Always goes sideways and not capable of changing a game, grabbing it by scruff of neck. No pace and away from City, would look very very ordinary

Moyes sees Barkley every day can't be pulling any trees up or up or he would be gettin game time ste 45

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Either that or he still sees the odd mistake in his game and doesn't want to risk his confidence and our league position by throwing him in the deep end and him messing up

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley will get his time at everton, just not
yet, I trust moyes as he sees him everyday
in training

Dave EFC {Ed025's Note - thats right dave..

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes loaned osman out to derby for quite a while too. he see's it as part of their development and i fully trust that moyes will do the right thing by the player and the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really think the progression of Rooney at a young age has people setting unrealistic standards, everyone can see Barkley's talents, but fact is, different players take different times to mature, and that is exactly the case with Barkley, people need to remember, the lad had a serious leg break a couple years ago which would have set him back a bit.

Give him time, give him game time, whether it be at Everton or on loan, but he has the talent, and he will develop into a top top player.

Just went on to the Leeds rumour site and saw they seem to honestly believe barkley's 1 month loan spell has an option to a permanent transfer to them haha what a deluded bunch the fact they seem to think we will sell our best home grown prospect to a championship side is histerical

Having previously posted on David Moyes position( December) and how he would find it extremely difficult to find a club that affords him complete automony, he enjoys at EFC, in all footballing matters with a salary of c£4m pa.
Perhaps he should look no further than Paul Lambert's experience.
But if he did feel that better opportunities existed elsewhere, both Di Matteo and Martinez seem men of integrity and are advocates of the type of football Everton are producing and therefore would fit the bill.

We're crying out for a decent midfielder and complaining we can't afford one and then I hear we have let Barkley go out on loan yet again, isn't this the player Chelsea and city were after 12 months ago the next best thing . So why don't we just throw the lad in the deep end and let the lad play, he fearless and strong and has better chance maturing in a inform premier club as opposed to Leeds, BRING BACK BARKLEY {Ed025's Note - we pay moyes a hell of a lot of money to be our manager...let him manage!!...im sure he knows better than you and me how good ross is at the moment..

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Mosey knows best--ask Rooney!!! {Ed025's Note - i dont know what you are trying to imply...but losing rooney was pivotal to us becoming a force to be reckoned with in the prem, the money from his transfer was the catalyst to us recruiting some quality players, and our resurgence up the league..

After hearing people saying they would like Martinez as Moyes replacement if he leaves, but how would people feel about Ian Holloway, he likes Everton and considers us a proper football club and wanted us to win the Fa cup last year after we beat them 2-0 I like him as a manager and as a personality, of course I'd prefer Martinez but what about Holloway.

Phil, COYB!! {Ed025's Note - a bit of a loose cannon for me mate, does not do defending...a major gamble...but a nice guy..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have a strange feeling we may go in for Luciano Becchio, he's been watched by a few clubs, and Ross has just gone there. And he scores a few. And he's probably affordable {Ed025's Note - not a bad shout..

Only another 48 hours to go before Felli leaves? Strange that nothing has been announced yet! I just hope he's selected for the Swans game and puts in a sterling performance, we may get a few extra quid that way. Nice to see big Vic putting together a few good performances. Ed any news on Gibbo's injury with Ross on his way to Leeds either Gibbo's not far away from being fit or there may well be a new face comming into the squad. COYB {Ed025's Note - i suspect the latter mate...another couple of weeks for gibbo im afraid..

Fellaini is not going MOVE ON, what's everyone's thoughts on moyes wanting Neville to sign a new deal, personally I doont want him to because he isn't that good and doesn't offer anything besides back passing, and now for welbeck, I don't rate him at all because he does his fancy flicks all the time and fails and I fell if he is one on one with the keeper he will miss, just my opinion before I get shot.

Phil, COYB!! {Ed025's Note - no ones going to shoot you phil..we are all entitled to our opinions mate..

Agree with Wellbeck mate but not with Neville, I think Phil has lots too offer and he will be at the club for a long time

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

We have seen the best of Phil Neville-time for him to move on--does not offer the team very much--cannot pass a ball and if he does it goes backwards {Ed025's Note - he is still a good player IMO, and i expect him to be a top coach in the future..

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2013 16:15:56
Thats what I was thinking too Ed, his presence alone in the dressing room can only be a positive thing, he is a model professional and the young lads will learn off him and keep their feet on the ground.

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like to see neville given a new contract, he is a great role model to so many at the club and can put in some good performances {Ed025's Note - im with you mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

He's never been the most technically gifted but he's a solid pro, and gives us great leadership. With him in the side we look more solid and organised. Welbeck's just another run of the mill striker, not much between him and big Vic.

I saw the post about Tom Rogic I have actually had a lot to do with Tom but at the moment we haven't shown much interest in him, he is in fact training with Celtic and looks likely to join Fulham or Reading. I would love to see him sign for the blues but at the moment it isn't looking likely. One thing I can tell you is Terry Antonis is still very much interested in a move to us and is still in contact with club officials. But while we are on the subject of young Aussie talent we actually have a young guy Jake Adelson who I had alot to do with from his time at Blacktown city demons and this kid is a very talented defender and will be an asset to our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez for me too. i'd be fine with keeping steve round around, but i think nev would be a great addition to the staff.

there's a couple of german managers who i think could do quite well in the prem if they were able to adjust to english communication/media/etc.

moyes will stay though {Ed025's Note - lets hope so..

Agree0 Disagree0

Does he not fight relegation every year with a budget similar to that of DM {Ed025's Note - no disrespect to wigan...but we are a lot bigger club, with a lot more ambition, and far better players..

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez........ NO!!!!

No plan be when he is losing. Which is often
No ambition. Hence rejecting villa.
Fights relegation too often.
Accepts defeat too easily for my liking.

I would go for Laudrup. If he stays with Swansea they will turn out to be a European team in a few years.

If fellaini does go for 26-35 million I really don't
Think McCarthy is a good enough replacement
He's no where near as good as fellaini and only looks good playing for Wigan if we were being a little optimistic
I'd go for moutiniho little high wages but great player
Any one else we could buy ?

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Everton will end up takin 2500 fans to Southampton for televised night game .man city sending 900 tickets back for arsenal game .says a lot to me

Agree0 Disagree0

Defour, Strootman, Diaby, Banega, Mvilla, Eriksen, Belhanda, Casemiro?Rob Walker

Agree0 Disagree0

A little higher wages? Spurs couldn't meet his wage demands!!

I don't think we could replace Fellaini with one player, we would need 3 or 4 solid players to sure up the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely disagree. Whilst I want fellaini to stay, mcCarthy would be a fantastic addition, who will undoubtedly develop into a great talent either with us or with someone else.
Wigan are also a good footballing team - if they had our CMs, Wingers, CF and full backs they would be a really great team. Well actually if they had all of our players less Howard, they would probably get into CL next year.
Oh and yes, they would need our supporters and Manager and even our ground as well.

while all the talk is of the big money buys in January, my mind turned to Straq who we brought in on loan last year at this time.....no great talent, but no ego and a big heart and tremendous desire to play football and please the fans. Though he never made it, it would be nice for Felli who talks about wanting to hit the big time thinking about the Argentinian who would have sold his soul to be putting on a blue jersey and walking out at Goodison in 2013. We can easily forget the privileges of life.

Good post oscar, I really liked the strac not the most talented but would run all day strong at the contest and give you a 100% good honest player be interesting to see if he keeps scoring in argentina if we'd have another look at him as his goal ratio when he was with us was his downfall

With Fellaini in the team, we're playing a sort of 4-4-1-1 with him playing the number 10 role behind Jelavic. Subject to injuries :-( we have Mirallas and Pienaar in the wide (albeit flexible) roles and a midfield of Osman (number 8 role) alongside one of Gibson, Neville, or Hitzlsperger (number 6 role). Unfortunately, these last three players are respectively injury-prone, getting on a bit, and short-term.
So, here's my six-penn'orth: (1) We need someone like Ofoe to play regularly in the number 6 position - unless Fellaini plays there; and (2) If Fellaini changes position - or is transferred - should we move to a 4-4-2 formation with a second striker?
I'd love it if Anichebe could do that, but has he got the self-belief?
I see Barkley developing into the number 8 position. Whether Francisco Junior - or one of the other bright sparks coming through - can develop into a first team midfield player is a moot point for now. Likewise for every position in the team - will our younger players develop and progress enough, or will we have to transfer in the necessary players?
But what do I know... if I did really know anything, I'd be a successful manager and not just an opinionated fan :-)

Interesting interview IMHO on the club website with Alan Stubbs talking about the U-21s playing their home games at Southport rather than at Finch Farm during the coming second part of their season. Seems that he and DM want the younger players to get experience of playing games away from familiar surroundings (i.e. not at FF where they train most days) and in front of a crowd (i.e. not behind 'closed doors' at FF). You might have the skills and physical attributes to be a professional footballer, but how would you handle a hostile (even abusive) crowd if you were in the first team unless you'd been gradually exposed to that atmosphere as you came through the ranks? Likewise, the loaning of players to lower league sides - not only testing their character in the 'school of hard knocks', but also where mistakes are maybe not so highlighted or costly, seems an eminently sensible step. Ross Barkley has great potential, but he's made mistakes (caught in possession for example) and another loan spell wouldn't be that wrong surely. I refer to Leon Osman as a case in point - he was loaned as a young player (Derby and Preston wasn't it?) and since then has played in our first team for, by and large, ten years and won an England cap. IMWT. Once a blue, always a blue.
