Ed’s I seen you suggested a while back about Glenn Hoddle would be a good candidate for a managers job.
Why does he never get mentioned? Does he not want to be in that role again or is it just that the right club hasn’t come up for him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Mainly because clubs look to foreign manager so.}

Thanks Ed, shame really. Only negative with Glenn Hoddle I see is maybe he is to nice and can’t see him giving anyone the hairdryer treatment.

He also makes ridiculous comments and has an odd outlook on life. Aside from that, he'd be a decent option.

Hoddle in my opinion would be a good guy to have as Director of Football.

I don't go for all this hairdryer treatment. I managed people for many years and in a fast paced "I want it now" environment. I always found that a quiet word with a person was best. Point out where I felt they had gone wrong, offer some encouragement to work on the problem, either by extra training or tuition. That had more benefits than the hairdryer. Hoddle for me would make a good manager and certainly get the likes of Barkley rejuvenated and playing with confidence. But he does come with a shady past that some might not be able to accept. I would certainly take him until the end of the season. But then I am only a punter lol.

I'd take hoddle. Good football brain to set us up tactically against both more difficult teams and lesser teams. Would take him over the likes of dyche, allerdyce etc who i don't think would manage the team much better than rhino or moyes did. Hoddle can instill confidence into the squad and i would hope is a big enough name to attract players to play for us too.

{Ed025's Note - i think as a coach he is excellent craig, him being a bit of a fruit cake puts me off a bit though mate..

Kevin Mirallas and Andy Carroll swap in January?

10 Nov 2017 16:31:23
I'd swap mirallas for Carol Vorderman at the moment.

I personally would be happy with Unsworth to manage to the end of the season, and in the process between now and then try and convince a world class manager to manage us with funds at the commencement of next season. I think Big Sam or Dyche means we are moving sideways or even backwards.

10 Nov 2017 12:17:45
Yes mate, I agree.

10 Nov 2017 13:15:52
Very naïve view really, just like players, world class managers will want champions league clubs and would be unlikely to come her even with the money involved.
We have employed as our last 2 managers, highly rated up and coming managers that when you weigh it up have left us in no better a position than that we were in when Moyes left! we also have some of the original players!
The biggest problem I see is that Unsworth would be temporary so how would the players react, in fact he has most success with his U23 players he has bought into the first team. Therefore are you saying you are happy to possibly battle relegation or at best finish mid table for the next 27 games?

Agree4 Disagree2

10 Nov 2017 14:05:53
You are in dreamworld mate if you think the board will get a world class manager, lol dream on.

10 Nov 2017 15:12:08
Koemans hardly an up and coming manager is he, been managing for nearly 18 years.

10 Nov 2017 16:37:32
Sean Dyche would be my 'realistic' choice. Doesn't look promising though.

Dont know how someone can thumb down my post when all i did was state a fact 🤦🏼‍♂️.

10 Nov 2017 18:35:33
I don't know about 'up and coming' - the two words I was worried about with Koeman in charge were 'down' and 'going'.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Nov 2017 04:19:54
As I stated, Try and Convince a world class manager. No I'm not naive in regards it will be difficult, but we need to exhaust all avenues of enquires. If you are happy with Big Sam or Dyche, this club is going nowhere! I like Moshiris ambition. He wants the best for us. As for Unsworth we will not be relegated. If Koeman was still in, then I would be certain we would be going down!

I have some bad news. It's just been announced that the original link between us and Simeone was a typo. Everton are actually linked with someone. Sorry 😣.
