I really don't think we need much in the summer except peanuts and rw I think giving the likes of Barkley, Baxter, Duffy, vellios, junior and maybe green more game time and letting them play and learn from the likes of ossie, Neville, Cahill, and the rest of the experienced players then maybe not next but in a couple of years we will have a squad that came through the ranks together and all know each well and there style of play abit like Barca {Ed025's Note - sounds good to me..

just like to ask people what would you value rodders at i would definatly sell him as i feel gibson can do better plus we could push screech further up the field but then its just another posistion were we are left short oh and did you hear about cardiff suddenly bill kenwright the best owner ever p.s i might actually prefer him to say someone like the sheikh or venky as he cares about our great club................paddock toffee {Ed025's Note - we all care about our great club mate, thats why selling rodders might come back and bite us in the arse!...the kids got talent..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

So has barkley duffy and other rezzies and u18s they dont get much chances bar coleman and obsiously rodwell he has had enough chances give him till january and the we might get a good 20 million coup hey, Ed025's Note - lets just give the guy a chance to prove the doubting thomas,s wrong..

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont necceserially doubt him its just i dont think his style suits us oh and he needs to move to centre back already been waiting 2 seasons then again its up to the gaffer {Ed025's Note - it is mate..

How do people feel about Coleman next season? He's had a poor campaign but he clearly does have ability we've seen it in previous seasons . Do we reckon he's a lost cause or one for next season {Ed025's Note - keep him for me...yes last season he was poor, but he is young and has not had the best time with injuries, he will improve again next season..

Believable1 Unbelievable1

If he doesn't start getting pushed backto right back soon, don't see him having future here, 25 this year so not really young. 1 more year as squad player than off to championship for 3 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's awful most games now - offers very little - a decent championship rightsider would offer more threat and better cover - sell him to blackpool where he played well - a win win for both teams and the lad himself {Ed024's Note - I would give the lad one more season and maybe a shot at RB

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't want to be on his case all the time but to me he doesn't appear to be 'all there' when I look at him - his body language on the pitch is bad - like he's a bit lost - and doesn't know where he's meant to be standing or what he's really meant to be doing - so he gets dragged about a bit and out of position - following the ball or whatever's in front of him - and his facial expressions don't look like he's really concentrating hard or that he's aware of what's going on that much - maybe I'm wrong though and he's just giving off an odd impression

Agree0 Disagree0

Has played well for us so time should be given to Coleman. However if a swap deal could be done with Blackpool for Matt Phillips then i would do it.

hi guys just a thought but this american that was favourite to take over rangers now he has pulled out do you think we could convince him to invest with us? i know its not the buy out we all would like but it could let us strengthen the squad for next season and help us push on thus making us more attractive to potential buyers giving him a quick profit on his money. what do you think?..........grbefc {Ed025's Note - i dont want to prostitute the club to anyone, yes i want investment, but i want someone who really wants us!, not a mercenary who is looking to make a quick buck..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Good point well made ed thing is we have got someone who really wants us with bill it would just be nice if we had some money to go with him while i would never advocate the prostitution of our beloved club it would be nice if just for one summer we didn't have to feel that the only way we could buy is to sell and you never know he might be interested in the long term investment in our club he did want to buy rangers after all which would not have been a quick fix and if you don't ask you don't get.....grbefc {Ed025's Note - i must admit grb...a bit of dosh would be nice mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Bill millar has a wealth of 25 mill. he is not the answer. was trying to make a quick buck at rangers {Ed025's Note - thats what i thought..

dont be expecting any money for players in the transfer window. the only money moyes will get is the money he generates from sales. thats how everton work now and will continue to till we get anew owner
school of science {Ed025's Note - then what happened in january mate?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I thought we sold Billy & bought Jelavic with that money?!? {Ed025's Note - i forgot about billy...my bad..

Agree0 Disagree0

The club will give moyes whatever they can, as was proved in january, we all need to get behind the club and moyes has proved he can spend wisely with whatever he has got, i think there will be a couple of new faces and pineaar in this summer

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - and that would do me..

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we do get money to spend and i hope the post i put up is proved wrong, the 2nd half of the season has been great and proves when quality new players are brought in it pushes the club on.
school of science
school of science {Ed025's Note - i think we all want that school..

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather balance books than add more debt. Nothing wrong with selling to buy IMO.

Very interesting article in the Telegraph today, link below

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/premier-league/9255617/Revealed-the-financial-health-of-the-Premier-League-laid-bare.html

When you read stuff like this it makes me wonder if maybe Moyes has to change his policy on selling players. I realise no one likes the term "selling club" but Newcastle have proved this season that done properly you can improve your team using this business model.

In my honest opinion Moyes is too loyal to older members of the squad. We should be looking to get players in bring them on And sell on for big profits. For instance (and this is where I'll get loads of stick but it's just my opinion) Baines should be one of the players that if, someone wants to bid silly money for, we should sell. We could realistically command £20mill plus maybe more if two teams get into a bunfight over him. He's 27 therefore his value is only going to go down. It also means we get a top earner off the wage bill. Whether we find another left back as good as Baines is doubtful but we could strengthen other areas of the team to accommodate this.

I'm not saying we should sell everyone. I just think that in our current financial plight we shouldn't be so blinkered Moyes should assess at the end of each season which players are for sale early doors so he has funds available for the early part of post season.

Rant over, Ed. :) I'm sure I'll get some stick for this but as I said just my opinion, which also seems like the only currently viable option for moving forward. {Ed025's Note - i respect your views mate, and i can see a modicum of sense in it, but for me, selling your best players sends out the wrong message to the other players and supporters, and creates a bad atmosphere, and shows a lack of ambition...just my view..

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Certainly not for me either mate

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

It only sends out the wrong message if done badly. For example, if we sold say Fellaini for 25 million but brought in a cabaye or tiote as a replacement whilst still having cash left over to buy a cisse and a ben arfa.
I dont want to sell the best players either however i dont think the fans or the players would mind if it was done to bring in 3-4 quality additions. Look the last 2 times we have done it we have had successful seasons. The year we sold Rooney we finished 4th, the year we sold Lescott we finished top 7 so bottom line is it does work for us as well when we have done it. The big question is choosing the disposable assest that gets a high price, sadly i only think we have 3, Baines, Fellaini and Barkley, and Barkley would probably be small upfront payment and performance based increases.

Pienaar is a must for me. He makes everybody tick. A winger and a second striker is all that's needed for me. Hope it gets done early for once! {Ed025's Note - thats the key to us having a good start..

all this stuff about Baines leaving wasnt he left out of the England world cup squad cos he suffers from homesickness {Ed025's Note - he asked to be left out mate, yes..

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Does this mean he's not going to the euros and the next world cup or will he overcome his home sickness? {Ed025's Note - your guess is as good as mine

Ed, or people that are in touch with the Serie A. What is happening with Elia? it was only a year or so ago when he was one for the top clubs to get. now he's played something like 4 league games for Juve. How much? and any chance for a english appearance, let alone a goodison appearance? {Ed025's Note - the R/S are after him...he will cost about 8m...which rules us out im afraid mate..

Newcastle fan… Looking forward to the game on Sunday, always a great occasion when the two sides meet, full of passion and usually a great game. Will not be easy, but we need to win if we have any chance of CL football.

Everton are like Newcastle whereby the so called bigger clubs are always linked with our players. It gets so boring… Good luck on Sunday, but not too much eh!

I really hope that, after Sunday, we don't get a repeat of last season's posts appearing here, (imo totally unjustified), vilifying & insulting Bill Kenwright for not selling our beloved club. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it for us to be able to compete for the world's best players, but buyers who can invest that sort of money AND keep their noses out of team affairs are very few & far between. I remember posting last season about how some of my Blackburn supporting mates were really rubbing it in when the Venky's took over at Ewood & warning them to wait & see what happens before boasting of their "new wealth". Those same fans now, with hindsight, would have loved to have a chairman like Bill.
Another warning flag about selling to owners with no passion or knowledge about a club is coming from Cardiff City. Apparently, the new (foriegn) owners there want to replace the iconic "bluebird" badge with the Welsh dragon, & change the first team kit from blue to red!! Can you even start to imagine the outcry if we got new owners who wanted to get rid of the famous "toffee tower" symbol & wanted us to play in red just because "we've put the money in so you'll do as we say"! Bloody hell, it sent a cold shiver down my spine just typing that!
So, come on, guys - let's get behind Moysie & Bill this summer, & prove to the rest of the football world what we already know - We are loyal, fanatical, enthusiastic & realistic supporters of the best football club on the planet.

23 man squad.

Walker
Richards
Terry
Cahill
Jagielka
Lescott
Cole
Baines

Wallcot
Lennon
Parker
Gerrard
Lampard
Milner
Young
Oxlaide-Chamberlain

Rooney
Welbeck

With Barry, Downing, Carroll and Sturridge as the 4 back up's

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Put Smalling in instead of Terry !

Dont really care mate, dont mind watching the tournament but england bore me so much. if i had to choose between england winning the world cup and everton getting 3 points from the next game, it would be the blues all the way

Agree0 Disagree0

Although i stopped enjoying England in tournaments in about 1998. I do still watch them and want us to win.

Good squad, but think you are a bit light on holding midfielders. Drop Lennon and bring in Barry. There was talk in the paper the other day about Grant Holt or Shandy Carroll getting in the squad! I bet the Spanish and Germans are sh*tting themselves!!

if we sell rodwell for 28 million and fellaini 30-35 million and baines for 20-30 million then we have got good money and then we can spend it wisely and we will have about 30-35 million in the bank for jan

I have gone from being really optimistic about next season to all of a sudden dreading it. The vultures are circling over our key men yet again. If we do sell i normally suck it up knowing full well Moyes will work his magic, replace them with people we whave never heard of and get us up and running again, howeveer the difference this time is that i truly believe if we do sell one or both of Baines, Fellaini/Rodwell Moyes will walk. If Moyes does walk there is nobody out there who could do half the job he does. People keep banging on about Brendan Rodgers, sorry but managing a team that was close to promotion for 2 o 3 years before they finally did it, to 15th in the Prem is not amazing in my opinion, and to be frank, i know everyone praises their style of play but personally i find it quite boring, it is just the same ethos as Barca, keep possesion as a form of defence rather than as a form of attack, yes the stats look good cos you had so much of the ball but that is mainly being passed around the back 4 and 2 deep midfielders, yawn. Paul Lambert is the only stand out candidate for me should we be in that position but even he is unproven at this level to an extenet.
Ultimately it would be great to get Pienaar and a few new faces in but if that is at the expense of selling the crown jeweles of our side i dont want it as i think that would be the end of the Moyes era, and a return to some dark places for us blues.

Svenny {Ed025's Note - good post that svenny....i dont agree with all of it...but some great points mate..

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Moyes won't walk as he is on 65k a week and there are no top jobs available.

We have this every year regarding the vultures out after our crown jewels, if Baines went Pienaar wouldn't be as effective, Felli is a star and we need to keep this guy too.

Face facts if a top team come in with a top offer we will sell, it's as simple as that, we will pick ourselves up and carry on as we have always done.

My dream for next season is 11 million quid:

Rodalegga in - free
Pienaar in - 3 million
Adam Jonno in - 8 million

Sell no top players

Top four, simples, come on BK give us 11 million quid

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

These rumours happen and have been happening for years now. In the main we don't really sell and if we do it's massive money.
In the 10 years Moyes has been here he has only sold Rooney which was inevitable, Lescott where we got 25 million for a defender we paid 5 million for and Arteta last season who wanted to go so i wouldn't worry too much. Moyes makes the decisions around Goodison unless like Arteta they want to go and IF a player was to leave in the summer it would be Moyes choice and he would ensure he got the best possible price.

What I would like to see happen for next season

Outs:
Yobo 2m
Mucha - 500k-1m
Vellios(loan)

All this talk of selling Rodwell is stupid I no he's been injured alot but i can almost guarentee that wen he gets over them which he will, he will go on to be a great player he's still only 21 time is on his side, plus we dont need to sell him with the sales of Mucha and Yobo plus whatever money Kenwright can get together we will have enough money to get the players we need, Left Winger we all no we need Piennar I personally think we will get him for 4m, Right Wing there's a few players i think we should go for Donovan being the obvious choice although I do think we should wait until January as his contract would be up in the summer so he would be alot cheaper, but i think Kalou just fits the bill because we all no our side lacks pace and thats exactly what he's got plus he's free, I no alot of people are saying go for Hoilett but he's still gonna cost money even no he's out of contract due to his age and i think if we had Kalou and Coleman back to his best then the right side would be sound, Plus Kalou could play in just behind Jelavic so it solves 2 problems, right now on to the Dempsey situation he's 29 years old now im pretty sure Fulham are gonna be askin for like 10m and yes hes worth it but for us to spend 10m on a 29 year old would be nuts.

All ins i think we should get:
New GK
Pienaar - 4m
Pranjic - free
Kalou - free
Rodallega - free
Donovan - (In January)

Team Next Season:

Howard
Hibbert
Jagielka
Heitinga
Baines
Kalou
Gibson
Rodwell
Pienaar
Fellaini
Jelavic

But if we get Donovan in Jan my team after Jan would just be drop rodwell to the bench put fellaini in his position put Kalou behind the striker and play Donoavn on the right.

other players we would have in the squad and some who i would like to see get a few games next season

RB - Coleman, Neville
CB - Duffy, Distin
LB - Pranjic
LM - Gueye
CM - Barkley, Junior, Osman, Cahill
ST - Rodallega, Anichebe, Hope

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Pranjic has already signed for some Chinese team mate, we really need to get over this lad, it seems that everyone was thinking it was a done deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodalegga - yes
Pienaar - number one priority
Kalou - not for me mate
