Liked what Marcel had to say about Lookman be good to see him next season think he has real talent. I think we will have a talented squad next season think next week we will possibly see some movements either ins or outs.

I can see us cementing 7th spot again next season but anything in the top 10 will do me as long as we can see improvements.
I like how Silva and brands seem to be on the same page with how the whole club should be set up it looks like Moshiri has learned from his mistakes very quickly and by getting brands we have got one of the best in the business.

It's all what we want to hear GB. This season can't start quick enough.

I can't wait to see a shot on target Again!

Think I'm still in shock we had gravy train Sam in charge of us last season. What were we thinking!

"part of Marcos plans"
Can we bring back apostrophes? For about 30 seconds I had poor Lookman being lusted after by Imelda Marcos. It is an image that is taking a lot of unseeing.

Hello everyone,

Some of you may remember me when I did a couple of posts with dads account, GrumpyToffee.

When dad passed away a few of you extended an invitation for me to sign up here, I hope the invitations are still valid and you accept me here as you all accepted dad.

I think dad would of had a lump in his throat reading all of the messages on here, 2 full pages from you wonderful people and further messages from Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City fans, reading them all made me truly humble. I didn't realise just how popular he was after all he was just dad to me, but over 300 people attended his funeral to say good bye to him.

I know I will never be able to fill his shoes on here but I would hope to be an active member and if I am only half as popular I will be a happy man.

Thank you everyone, your actions meant a lot to all of the family.
Tony.

{Ed025's Note - your very welcome SOG, i dont know if you know mate but there is a big charity game going on within the site where posters from many teams are coming together to raise money, at this game organised mainly by benny baller from the liverpool pages as a mark of respect they will all be wearing black arm bands as a tribute to your late father which we are all delighted about, its actually live on facebook and the details can be found at the top of the page...cheers..

Your Dad was a legend, you are quite welcome. Some of us old sods are set in our ways but I always enjoyed reading your Dads posts, very inciteful and to the point. We all go back to the days of Catterick and his ilk. Ups and downs but through it all we are Evertonian from head to toe.

I had no idea Ed but I have spoken to mum and other members of the family and we all think the arm bands are such a lovely touch. I will post a thank you to Benny Baller over the next day or so as well.

I can't find the details about the event though, doesn't help not having a facebook account, I will open one as I would love to watch the game.

On a happier note it looks as though the club has started to look at the long term with some great appointments, Brands in particular is a massive signing for us. Saying that though all of our new appointees from directors downwards have a heck of a task ahead of them, hopefully by season 3 we should be poking a toe inside the door of the elusive top 4. This season we start getting rid of the dross left behind by Koeman and Allardyce with the season after being used to rebuild for the future.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome
Tony.

{Ed001's Note - 6 days to go!

On the 16th of June our Facebook page will go live to a charity match the site has organised, in aid of Seva and Macmillan nurses.
It will be a 3pm kick off!
Please share and like our page to support the boys taking part. We have one crowdfunded page on justgiving that raised £300 before prematurely ending so stay tuned for a new one setting up. We are hopeful to raise £1000 with this and the players match fees.

This is also the last call for anyone else who wants to play in the game held in north oxfordshire. Current players range from all abilities and ages! So do not feel you cannot contribute.

Text me on 07719565417 for more info!

Will ed001's "Just like watching brazil" better ed002's "Walham green east wapping, carpet cleaning rodent and boggit exterminating association"....FC?

Who is your money on?!

Benny just sent me this funnily enough.}

Reading today that Mr Moshiri is looking to extend Marco Silvas contract at Everton beyond 2021 so he will be in charge when we move to our new stadium for the 2022/ 23 season, exciting times ahead at last, Bring It On.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

10 Jun 2018 15:35:41
I can't see him extending just yet. Too much of a risk, just over a season experience in the prem and that's with 2 clubs. If he does well then his head gets turned and Moshiri has to sack him with 3/ 4 years remaining.

After learning so many lessons, to make such an unnecessary deal is a mistake. Must be one of these bedroom journos that's had his comment retweeted and then plonked on NewsNow. Turn your tripe filter on dude.

What Marco said is that if he performs well Moshiri wants him to be manager for the new stadium.

I don't think one Evertonian doesn't wish that. If he performs, the team performs and we should ALL be happy.

Why are people thumbs down to my first comment. It's true he hasn't played a game yet and you think Moshiri wants to extend his contract. The one he signed 2 weeks ago. Fools if you think that.

10 Jun 2018 20:13:50
Mowfee82 far more realistic. Agree totally.

Agree2 Disagree4

10 Jun 2018 21:36:54
There is no one saying he's about to sign a new contract!

Silva has said the owner would like him to be manager in the new stadium IF he and the team perform! No suggestion by anyone that he's about to get a new contract!

What's up with people! Get a grip!

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Jun 2018 22:43:48
I know BlueJohns and I have a really good feeling about him and Brands working together a proper management team. Brands said he's stays well clear of tactics, but he doesn't let a player come in or go without the coach's approval. Brands listens to the scouts and trainers then negotiates a deal. Moshiri certainly listened to sound advice on this one. If Silva gets us champion league football he'll stay. If he gets us a cup and or European football. Chelsea, Utd and maybe Tottenham could come knocking then he'll be gone. I don't get why people are disagreeing with me. He only signed last week and he hasn't played a game yet.

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Jun 2018 07:59:09
GB and Mowfee I have a good feeling about this new set up, mainly because of Brands and him being proven in the position he's been in before.

As for Silva his type of football is what I like. Some fans are happy with Sam's lump it up top and sit back approach but for me I want to hear about us attacking teams regardless of who they are.

Moyes was the same as Sam and always focused on how tough it is to play the big teams. Silva 1st interview talked about attacking these teams always play to win. It's been a long time since I heard an Everton manager talk like that.

I hope Silva gets a contract extension, I'm begging to the gods that he gets one because if he does it means EVERTON have performed well.

Fingers crossed. 🤞.

Underrated Premier League XI

In all this speculation about who should go people need to be careful about how much we are influenced by thinking about players in the context of a Sam designed team rather than the team as it will be next season. It may well be that te team as set up by Silva will transform players' performance, some for the better and some for the worse.
For example, Mori is a player about whom I have doubts. However, it could we see Silva's defensive system place an emphasis on Mori's strengths and not expose his weaknesses.
Likewise he could re-energise Scherderlin a player who can play but hasn't) . An improvement in Schneiderlin coupled with a successful decision to give Benni more opportunities could see Gueye judged surplus to requirements by January (I am having difficulty visulalising that myself but we are talking hypothetically) .
The point is that players perform differently in differently set up teams. Hopefully, we are about to see our team as unrecognisable from what went before so who knows who will fit the new template and which "square peg" will find that his hole in the team is now round.

Can't really see gueye being surplus mate tbh.2nd name on the teamsheet for me.

10 Jun 2018 14:29:37
Sniedrrlins tendency to be inconsistent is consistent. Good player but can't really be relied on. Gueye is, like bliemarc said the 2nd name on the team.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jun 2018 15:22:57
That was my whole point. A new regime will bring a new philosophy and structure to the side. That means that players that may have prospered until now may not prosper in future and vice versa.
I would not have predicted Liverpool riding out the loss of Coutinho the way they have nor the consequent development of Chamberlain.
Change brings unforeseen and unlooked for consequences.

I totally agree Glenn. Although, I think Gana has a number roles he can play.

It'll be interesting to see how they all fit in.
