Should go for shane long'great player will suit our style.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He has one exceptional game and now he's a 'great player'. Let's be honest here, yes he works a lot but he's not the type of player we should be looking at if we want to progress. Gets 8-10 a season at most.

BitterBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a good player but not one I would like us to buy. However, if he became available as a free agent in the summer which is possible, I would want us to snap him up. He would make for a fantastic sqaud player and also another option, a different type of forward.

Spot on, BitterBlue.

he is quick, can jump extremely high (glen johnson knows this :)) and works his socks off, despite this he isn't a goalscorer and is not a clinical finisher, there will always be someone else out there who will do fine for us don't know who but I trust bobby to find the right man

Just a thought that I haven't seen posted before.
If the first team qualifies for the group stages of the Champions League for next season, we would also qualify to have an U-19 side in the UEFA Youth League. The fixtures would mirror the first team group stages to begin with, so we'd have at least six games at both levels. Imagine that - our youngsters getting the chance to play competitively against top European talent. Let's hope that both the first team and the U-19 side could then progress to their respective knockout stages. One can but dream :-)

Anyone else think that it's looking more likely that Lukaku will leave Chelsea? Not saying he'd come to us but, if Chelsea want to win the League then they're going to have to sign a top striker in January, meaning Lukaku's chances would be limited when he returns, plus it's evident that he's not on great terms with Mourinho. I think that if we got Champions League, Everton would be his preference but the question remains, do we have the money?

I think that if we want to progress as a team, Lukaku has to be the first signing in the Summer as it is so hard to come across strikers that can score 20+ goals a season nowadays for a reasonable price.

Ive heard the loan deal was us paying £5 mill. Surely that's for a two year loan? if that's the case Lukaku would be a free transfer after that. £5 mill in his pocket for a signing on fee? give us two years under bobby and see where we can go

cabaye from Newcastle would be a superb play maker for our attacking side in January

In the words of Captain Mainwaring (Dad's Army): "I think you're getting into the realms of fantasy there."
Still, that's better than being told, "We're doomed I tell you - doomed!"

Dnt tell them your name Pike!

I reckon he'd also be a superb playmaker for Real Madrid. Despite our new look makeup as a club this year I still think our transfer policy will be to find rough diamonds. Finished articles like Kebab, unless they are available for a reasonable price or not getting a game, should be off limits because we prob won't get them and can waste a lot of time chasing them. Stefan Jovetic is someone who baffles me. He was the best player in serie a, can't get near the city team. Well worth a cheeky loan if you ask me.

Question for Ed025. have you heard anything about a potential move for Ryan Gauld? I know he's being linked with some huge clubs but do you think we would have a chance signing him given our new style and fact the transfer fee will not be astronomical? Not a rumour just a hypothetical question like

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - a lot of clubs have been looking at him mate, including madrid, and ourselves, his agent and advisors will have the final say, but we are certainly in with a shout..

It will be someone like Arsenal who get him; who then, inexplicably, send him out on loan to Huddersfield, Leeds or Leicester. It's the Moyes logic - why give a young player a chance when you can look sage-like by holding him back?

Kenneth Loggins

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed. Yes he might be ruined by a team who buy just for sake of it but he won't be loaned to championship clubs. Mark my words this guy is top class. He is an extraordinary talent and whoever gets him will have a 50m player. We must do everything we can to bring him to Goodison. If you said right now we could sign either Lukaku or Gauld. i'd pick Gauld, every day of the week. No slur on Lukaku. Its just this guy is gunna be a world beater if he stays injury free and is allowed to play his natural game on the pitch.

he is playing in the easiest league in the world though mate, we need lukaku and for me i'd rather have lukaku he will get us goals and is guaranteed to be one of the best strikers in the world, gauld is standing out in the scottish league, anybody could look a world beater there

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't have watched him play if your writing off his ability because of the league he plays in. he's the complete midfielder and he's only 17. Its what he's doing to stand out that's important. You might try to research him. That certainly won't do him justice. I've watched him at the match 4 times now and i'm seeing something I shouldn't be seeing in the Scottish League. Whoever gets him is gunna have an absolute gem who'l create for fun and score at will. Will be worth multiple times the £6m asking price. But I guess that's why Real Madrid are looking at him. Strange how they're sending scouts to the micky mouse scottish league

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2013 21:09:14
hes the complete midfielder, wow he must be incredibly strong and be able to time tackles perfectly, he can see passes the three heads of king ghidorah couldn't see, or not, i'm not writing off his ability I have seen him play he looks good, he goes past the world class dunfermline defenders like they are not there, at the age of 19 eden hazard was going to be the best player in the world, will he ever be? no, is he one of the best? no, he was doing it in a better league, real madrid are great do not get me wrong, but look at their youth, who stands out? jese rodriguez, casemiro and morata and, and? well that's pretty much it, apparently they are looking at john souttar too, so he must be a world beater too right?, gauld is 18 soon and is sprinting past 2 players and doing the odd spin here and there and he is the next messi, if he was 27 and doing this his name would be nani, just saying people should let him develop and prove himself against better opposition then there is in the scottish league before saying he will be the best player in he world, calm down about him people calm down

I have watched ryan a few times this season, and although he is stand out quality, as posted here already, it is in the scottish league. Not putting down that this lad is going to be special, I believe we at everton have the new messi in the name of del boy. We never in a million years are going to be able to buy him, but if you pit del boy against gauld it would potentially be like comparing messi with hazard in a few years time (if both continue their progress at the same rate). Both class players, but one quite simply head and shoulders above the rest. CraigHuytonBlue

13 Dec 2013 13:22:24
Im not calming down about him. I know what I see here. And yeah he is the complete midfielder. Sometimes you just got to not comment on things you know nothing about. Because anyone who has actually watched ryan gauld should understand they are seeing something you don't see from your usual 17 year old. As usual I see Ox long dishing out his usual bilge without one point about the player himself. You can't point out his flaws because there aren't any. Start spouting off about real madrids youngsters? No, Madrid are searching for the next huge talent, like most other clubs, and whoever signs this guy will have found it. I can't take seriously any person who doubts this guys talent. We should all be desperate to sign this guy for 6m.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The best thing for Gauld to do is stay where he is just now for a few more seasons. His career will progress better playing in competitive matches in Scotland than it will playing reserve or Under 21 football somewhere else. He is only 17 and will not get near a regular starting spot at any EPL or continental team for a few years.
If you are the guy that said he is going to be worth £50m and a world beater one day, sorry but that's a ludicrous statement to make about any 17y.o. player, especially one playing in Scotland.}

13 Dec 2013 15:25:31
We heard it about hazard, about sterling, about zaha, about leitner and about neymar, I said he is good but by no means one of the best in the world already, I can name flaws, he cannot read the game defensively to perfection, he doesn't spread the ball and win it back and set the rest of thr team up with killer passes from anywhere whilst winning the ball back with faantastic tackles, he is basically a scottish messi without the goals and without the link up play done to perfection with teammates, he is good and by all means good luck to him being one of the best I personally can see it but let him develop instead of rushing to the fact he is apparantly the best talent on earth, give him time, pressure on someone so young is unfair so again please calm down. i really like these players! chicharito is fantastic striker a dembele is fantastic passer. I saw to rumour about swoop Leighton Baines for Chicharito. I really like leighton but bryan looks really good so I think the swoop could be good for us! thing about the attack duo lukaku and chicharito! its like search and destroy.

well someone has been on their happy pills, I would accept 25m plus hernandez for baines, its us coming off worst in the deal he is sh*te, doesn't score when starting and doesn't offer anything besides the odd deflected goal here and there, dembele is great but cannot see it but not hernandez

Mike-Ox Long

Don't want to do business with United. It's our players that will improve them, not the other way around.

I think the only one on the happy pills mike is you mate, Hernandez is a great player, he would walk into most teams in europe, U would be blessed to have such a great player and man at your club

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good as an impact sub chris, but when he starts, he flatters to decieve for me mate..

10 Dec 2013 16:49:06
well yes teams in the swiss league and the hungary league (if they have one), every prem player would walk in those teams and as the french, italian, english, spanish and german leagues don't make up most european teams your point is irrelevant, lukaku is better and you would be blessed to have any of our starting 11, all great players and great men :)

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez- great player, would walk into any team in Europe? You're a very funny guy chris, please do keep us amused with these inane ramblings. Good finisher, that's the sum total of his game.

Many people forget how much football he has played over the last few years, also remember his 1st season at united? Started a lot of games and scored 20+ goals, I agree he is very good off the bench but in the right team he could be devasting.
All this talk is nonsense thou u can't afford him anyway, plus i'm not so sure he is ready for the step up yet ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

U are aware there is more teams than the 20 teams in the prem, yes mike?

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris the REDman. are you a secret BLUEman?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you know SDS, you could be on to something there?..

10 Dec 2013 20:06:04
yes, you said he would get in most teams in europe, there is lots of teams in europe, mostly god awful teams so no suprise he would get in them, if you're on about top european sides like bayern, dortmund, juventus and psg etc he would struggle to make the bench on the reserves for place as kitman!

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats with the Chris guy trolling our site? Is that where Utd fans are at now? doesn't make any sense really. Anyway, Hernandez is over hyped. He wouldn't fit into our system because we need our front man to occupy both centre backs. He can't do this therefore he isn't suitable. For the money we would be much better going for someone else

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - chris is just having a bit of banter..it is a banter page!

Two of evertona games have been selected for tv in febuary, v spurs on ssn and v Chelsea on by sport! Are the broadcasters finally starting to see that we are worth televising? Hope so! Sick of ssn being filled up with the same teams week in week out!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hopefully we can get another striker wrapped up in January otherwise we may have to watch 90 minutes of Jela leading the line against Chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

On the subject of tv, what a disgrace the MotD editing of the Arsenal game was they showed more of who was sat in the stand than they did of us made the first half look like it was all Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

MOTD always a disgrace. But that's fine, it means we stay under the radar. Most of us i'm sure either go to the match or watch it somehow online if its not on TV. So we know how we're playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tom remember the chelsea game earlier in the season it was Jelavics superb header to naismith that won the game so maybe it would be a good thing :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I usually quote myself as tom efc I see somebodyelse is know so iwont use that name again bignose from now on

I think in January we need to make a few sales and additions firstly the sales-
Heitinga to fiorientina for 2million
Jelavic to west ham in part deal

Then with the additions-
I think we will get diame as part of a jelavic swap
Then I think we will sign either finbogassan, Jonas, Muriel or nelson Oliviera. Personally I would go for Oliviera due to him Being aged 22 and is scoring goals for fun in ligue 1 but its hard to seeee
Here diame would fit in he would probably be.a bench player until Barry or.mmccarthy need a rest,
