Awesome result this weekend, I was jumping all over the place. And watching that I have an idea for the Stoke game. I feel when we've played Stoke in the past we've sometimes been a bit too negative and havent gone at them. Obviously it's Stoke so we need strength but this would be my team, but only for the Stoke game:

Howard
Baines, Distin, Jagielka, Coleman
Pienaar, Gibson, Fellaini, Mirallas
Vellios, Jelavic

I'm not sure about dropping Felli back but it provides strength up top with Vellios and Fellaini is there to beef up the midfield and allow Coleman-Mirallas and Pienaar-Baines link up. If we get ahead then we can take off Vellios, push Felli up again and put in a fresh Osman to go back to the 4411. What do you think?

That's a cracking line up but I just can't see Moyes going with Vellios and Jelavic at front...

Personally I think we need Felli up front against Stoke to test their defence.

you have the lb and rb wrong way round, also rm and lm

Agree0 Disagree0

Felli should be in midfeild against Stoke as he never does well against centre halfs up for the battle so to speak ie Olsson&mcCaualy west brom and oshea and cueller Sunderland both games he was kept quite unitl he was moved into midfeild against Sunderland.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never thought id agree with mike cracking line up tom efc

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellini thinks is best position is midfield i agree he is doing a great job further up the pitch but would sooner see him in is natural position hes great anywhere that moyes problem would just love to see jelovic with a natural striker when velious comes on you can see the improvement right away we become more mobile and chances happen quicker tom efc

Not been on here in months, I've not been keeping up with this site or the Fantasy League, I have no idea who's 1st and where I am the league! Also, take a look at fandictor.co.uk and join Fans4Evertonians...
Anyway, we've had some poor, poor results this season, Reading, Wigan, Norwich etc....and if you look on that site that shows the prem table if the correct decisions had been made, we'd have 7 more points!
Having said that if we were offered 26/29 points after 15/16 games, I'd of taken that easily, but it's certainly encouraging that we're still 4th even after poor results...
Oh and a quick update from our red neighbours, they're still sh*te

hi guys not posted for a while but have been regularly reading the posts and enjoying the rs bashing i have noticed posts from fans of other teams have been appearing more often i think we are starting to unsettle a few people, at last they are seeing us as a genuine threat. just a few points if i may the support this year has been outstanding the noise levels at goodison have been very intimidating but we need more lets make opposing teams start shaking in the tunnel!! there has been some criticism of players, in particular seamus coleman, while his defending at times could be better i believe this will only improve with games while his attacking side is getting better. the link up play with mirallas is starting to look like a mirror image of baines and peinaar if this continues teams will not know where to look for the danger and with fellaini gibson and jelavic through the middle wow. at the start of the season i said i thought with a couple of players in and no one leaving that 4th place was a possibility, some did not agree. but i have changed my opinion i now believe 3rd is a real possibilty! i do not believe anyone will want to leave in january why would they? where would they go that would be better? a couple more players in, there is a modest budget available, and we all know what david can do with that, a loan or twoand bring on the battle with chelsea spurs and arsenal for 3rd and 4th. to sum up while i have always been proud to be blue not since the eighties have i smiled as much watching us play, its great to be an everton fan, the future IS bright the future IS BLUE COYB IMWT NSNO......grbefc {Ed025's Note - i enjoyed reading that grb...cracking post..and nice to hear from you mate..

Everton won't get 4th place!

We will get 3rd. {Ed025's Note - love it mate..

Believable7 Unbelievable4

No reason why we cant, as apart from the Manchester clubs, the rest of the league have been disappointing this season. The fact that we are 4th after some awful results tells you everything. We will need to strenghten in January to make it happen though.

Mike {Ed025's Note - not many awful results mike..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah ed, sorry i worded it wrong. I meant to say disappointing results. only a few awful results such as the defeat to Reading and the draws against QPR and Norwich.

How many manager of the months as Moyes won?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's won manager of the month 9 times and won manager of the year a joint-record 3 times along with Ferguson, although some how I think if we get Champions League he'll be the record holder for most manager of the year awards.

BitterBlue {Ed025's Note - cheers bitter..

Agree0 Disagree0

9 manager of the month, 3 lma manager of the year (joint record with fergie) and 1 north west manager of the year

Agree0 Disagree0

Just seen Kevin kilbane on sky said his club highlights was three years at everton playin 4 such a wonderful club ,good luck for everything in th,e future

Agree0 Disagree0

I think they should just get rid of the manager of the month and player of the month awards as they are a waste of time. The manager of the year should always go to the manager who wins the league.

Mike {Ed025's Note - im thinking of doing a positive poster of the month mike....you need not apply mate :)

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of rubbish Mike!! So if a manager like Mancini spends 250million and wins the league but a different manager spends 10million and qualifies for Europe, you think that the guy with more resources, 100million on the bench etc is a better manager?
What a load of nonsense!!

aflm78 {Ed025's Note - im with you mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok calm down aflm78, show me where I said you have to agree with me. I think it is all a load of crap and there shouldn't be any awards. So instead of voting just give it to the manager who wins the league. Manager of the year is a load of nonsense anyway and doesn't mean a thing. Ask Moyes if he'd swap them for a league cup or FA cup. What do you think his answer would be?

Mike {Ed025's Note - it is what it is mike...its recognition for a job well done, you are entitled to your opinion mate...but so is everyone else..

Agree0 Disagree0

You didnt say that I have to agree with you, but you didnt say that I couldnt either! You just turned a simple question about Moyes awards and turned it into another moan, as always (and prob meant to be a little dig at him and his lack of real silverware which you have then cleverly and very subtlely slipped into ur second post!).

It is quite clear that you dislike the man and his methods and thats fine, you're entitled to feel that way, but I'm equally entitled to say I think that what you said is a load of rubbish as well... So no point getting all defensive everytime someone says it to you when your opinions are usually very extreme and anti-Moyes! :)

aflm78

Agree0 Disagree0

Aflm I totally agree.

Mike you have been exposed well and truly on this one. Why don't you post some positives from the weekend. Even if it is something related to other things that don't involve Moyse like the crowds reaction to the second goal or the presumptuous tweet from the spurs player. All these things and many more could be mentioned to keep the banter positive.

Come on mike. Try and enjoy it

I posted beating spurs was pivotal in achieving fourth, by losing we would have dropped out of too four and playing catch up. By winning we in pole position and run of draws is broken. If we keep key squad players and freshen up with loans we kick on in January and cement fourth Paul c

Vellios is pulling the strings at the moment! I don't know what it is he does when he comes on the pitch but you can feel the fire in his belly all the way from the stands. His substitute apperances alone this year have contributed to at least 2 or 3 games altering in our favour and he seems to put a second wind in the entire team. Long may it continue I say.

Two strikers on the pitch suits me just fine and excellent to see the Jellyman back on the scoresheet! COYB.

Just a quick point, the way the bench reacted after Jelavic was substituted showed that although we fans may have been getting twitchy with all these draws the players certainly are not. I have never seen such team spirit in any sport which can only bode well for the rest of the season.

Absolutely delighted with that 3 points yesterday. Jelavic on the score sheet again, hopefully can push on from here and find his form from the end of last season. I thought Gibson was excellent yesterday, some of his passing was outstanding. Really makes the difference in the middle. Stoke away will be a tough one on Saturday, but no reason why we cant win it. Agree0 Disagree0

Teams like Stoke and West Ham don't deserve to be in the Premier League. Absolute crap and without an ounce of skill in the side. Kicking lumps out of the opposition for 90 minutes, hoofing it all game, playing for free kicks and throw ins. At least Mickey Mouse teams like Swansea and Wigan, do try and play it around and its decent to watch. We need to beat Stoke as Tony Pulis thinks he is some sort of tactical genius. Put him in his place Moysie.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Mike we have done our fair share of hoofing over the years, and referring to Swansea and Wigan as is just disrespectful as they both deserve to be in the premier league.

Agree0 Disagree0

My step-dad supports West Ham and goes to most matches. And because our games have mostly been at different times to the Hammers' this season, I've seen most of their games on the web/tv.

All I'd like to say is that West Ham are playing some brilliant football this season just like us. Yes they have the long ball option with Carroll but they play a fair amount on the ground (something not many Big Sam teams do). I mean we hardly play 100% on the ground do we?

Keith EFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the liverpool fan , i hate stoke all they do is cheat by fouling all the time, if referees were a lot stronger they would not be allowed to constantly foul there ways through games

school of science

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a few points
1. We were the dogs of war weren't we. That brand of football kept us in the league when we were scrapping for our lives
2. I saw Swansea destroy Arsenal only a few days after we drew at home. If that's mickey mouse the we are Pluto.
3. Anyone can beat anyone in this league so a little more respect for all clubs in this league is in order

Did anyone see MOTD2 Both hansen and Owen saying they think liverpool will get 4th place what a pair of persons. What planet are they from just because they win a game they think that.

Why wouldn't Hansen and Owen say reds will get 4th they are both red through and through so its to be expected. I'm a little suprised it not in top two or even prem winners, thats probably next week if they win again. We all have dreams mine is that we get 3rd win the FA cup and they get relagated. {Ed001's Note - Owen is, and always has been, an Everton fan, he never changed his allegiance, even when playing for Liverpool. No idea where anyone would get the idiotic notion he is a Liverpool fan when he has just spent the last few weeks slagging them off!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Except they didn't say that did they? They said if they buy a forward, they will be in the mix for 4th with Everton, Spurs and Arsenal. People get angry over the littlest things on here.

Did Mirallas go off injured or was it just fresh legs due to not being match fit.

Robbie

Believable0 Unbelievable2

He felt his hamstring tighten up and was taken off as a precautionary. So hopefully, since it was precautionary, he doesn't miss the same amount of time as he did with his previous hamstring injury, maybe be fit for Stoke?
