What do you all think of the report Baines is considering switching to the MLS? If this does happen we would be looking at recruiting 2 left backs unless Garbutt finally steps up.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

22 May 2018 23:15:28
If he goes, will be remembered fondly. Past his best now and you could see him wanting to enjoy a couple of years in the sunshine. Let him go by all means, but get a few quid for him.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 May 2018 23:34:25
Good luck to him, a true professional, had a few injuries during his career, but his partnership with Pienaar has been one of the few highlights we have enjoyed over the past ten years.

22 May 2018 19:31:17
Bainesy offered free transfer, well derserved if he does, and to be honest, great servant, but, we have too move on.

Believable6 0Unbelievable

22 May 2018 21:32:33
Who's offered him the free transfer?
Seems a bit strange when we could get a couple of million for him.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 May 2018 22:50:20
It's not always about the money Smit he's been a tremendous servant to the club if he does decide to leave and try the MLS he should go with all our blessings, be sorry to lose him but we need to find a replacement.

22 May 2018 23:06:53
I actually feel quite sick, Baines going. He's last of the marvellous 4. Baines, Arteta, Cahill and Pienaar. Coleman was at Blackpool.
I'm a gutted to, we are giving him away. Ok he's in his 30's but he's still got legs. He wouldn't just walk away after the team's had a terrible season would he? Something must of happened, but what? This is like the quickest transfer ever isn't it. He's our only left back. So guaranteed a spot unless we get a world class left back. But if we are getting a left back that's up and coming then that's to cover him and show him how it's done. Not to replace him. So if he goes, now we need 2. So I don't get it.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 May 2018 23:48:25
Sorry slight typo. That's for Baines to show the, up and coming player how it's done. Not the other way round as I wrote in my post.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 May 2018 00:34:09
I agree with Lee, it is not all about money and Baines has been a brilliant servent to our football club.

We should thank him for all he has done for our football club and let him enjoy his few remaining games with a new career in the states without worrying about a transfer fee.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 May 2018 15:49:47
lots of rumours that Baines is off any eds heard anything.

{Ed025's Note - nothing on that bluey mate..

I might be in the minority but I hope it's press BS as I still think he can do a job.

22 May 2018 19:52:38
I think he could still have a role to play next season but, if reports are true, I wish him nothing but the best and thank him for his years of great service. If this is the case then there must be a couple of left backs on the way in already as we are particularly weak in this position as it stands.

Any news on silva eds or any other potential frontrunners? Cheers.

{Ed025's Note - nothing yet joe but it is expected that silva will be appointed before the weekend mate, now whether that comes to fruition is not 100% certain but thats the word on the street..

21 May 2018 23:01:47
Just reading a rumour that we are 3rd favourites for Richaldson. Seriously though if true. Lookman dammit seriously. Again if true why is Lookman again being overlooked. What's the lad got to do.

Believable2 3Unbelievable

22 May 2018 09:22:16
I wouldn't worry at this time we don't even have a manager yet and Brands doesn't officially start till the first!
But the journalists will still be busy in the meantime!

22 May 2018 09:23:07
I think it's paper talk being honest Silva looks like he is coming in so the press put 2 and 2 together and get 69 (my fave number)

Agree1 0Disagree

22 May 2018 09:27:37
Mowfee it's just paper talk with us looking like we going to get Silva and him bringing him to Watford it's just papers putting 2 and 2 together plus I think we would be the last club watford would sell him to mate.

Agree1 0Disagree

22 May 2018 13:08:58
I'm sure Watford will be willing to sell to us. what with our new found friendship with them.

Arsenal have got Emery. Gutted.

Agree2 0Disagree

22 May 2018 06:31:40
I would prefer arteta to silva. It's a risk but one I could see paying off.

{Ed025's Note - thats half the problem with everton supporters kingy they are never happy, if we got arteta half would be saying he has no experience and ask what the board are doing, if silva comes in it will be all about his relegation with hull so its damned if they do damned if they dont, cant we all just be happy to move on from sam and give this gut the backing he deserves mate?..

Agree4 0Disagree

22 May 2018 09:24:22
my preference is Silva but I will support whoever comes in I think we might finally got it right with brands and Elstone gone hopefully we can start moving forward on and off the pitch.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 May 2018 10:12:45
I agree eds and who ever gets the job will get my full backing and should get everyone else's. I personally think the most important bit of business has already been done by sacking Walsh (who I personally blame for the majority of our problems over the past year or so) and getting brands in. Hopefully better times ahead.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 May 2018 13:35:37
Totally agree Ed025, drives me crazy. Always people who will never be happy no matter what happens. No matter what I will support whoever becomes our manager as I always have. I'm just delighted that plenty of action is being taken by the club to take us forward. In every way.

Stadium, manager, dof, players etc. Its fantastic. I don't have much if anything to complain about. The future is bright blues.

{Ed025's Note - some are negative before the guy has been appointed NBTB and i cant understand why?, lets give whoever comes in a great goodison welcome and get behind him, the new DOF , the board and the team....we are all in this together mate..

Agree1 0Disagree

22 May 2018 18:15:03
the reds call us bitter for a reason.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 May 2018 21:44:59
Personally I think is stupid to use the relegation with Hull as a reason not to appoint him, Alex Ferguson would not have kept Hull up that year with that squad and marco silva still managed 27 Points including 2 wins over top six opposition (including Liverpool) .

20 May 2018 21:25:33
Conte is now being quoted at 20-1. The same price as Arteta.
Silva remains odds on.
I think Conte would be perfect for us. It's no secret he is out of favour with the Chelsea board.

Believable0 8Unbelievable

20 May 2018 21:50:31
It worries me that Moyes has moved to 3rd favourite. Please no. I like Conte and would take him, but wonder if he could cope with our somewhat mediocre players compared to what he has been used to. I would take most of those been touted for the job apart from Moyes. Looks like this week will put is all out of our misery when we find out who will be our next manager.

Agree1 1Disagree

20 May 2018 22:51:42
Do not worry there is no way Moyes will be appointed. The board knows better than to appoint another manager who will cause that much controversy. Unless something mad happens it will be Silva.

Agree2 1Disagree

21 May 2018 11:33:28
The odds only reflect the money being placed by mug punters - the bookies want to ensure they make a profit based purely on what’s been wagered in the market - the odds don’t necessarily reflect who our board actually favour for the position.

Agree4 4Disagree

21 May 2018 12:07:33
Yeah pay no attention to odds! S. Lee was telling his mates to put money on them going to West Brom. The odds where 30-1 and then 7-1 before they recently appointed there manager.

Agree0 3Disagree

21 May 2018 20:47:29
I would rather we gave Arteta a rubbish than Silva, I've liked all I've read about Arteta's outlook on football, and with his Everton past will understand the fans from the off, we should go for him, and give him. the time to build something over 3-4 seasons.

{Ed025's Note - too big a gamble for me danny..

Agree1 0Disagree

22 May 2018 06:23:53
I understand that will be the opinion of most fans Ed, I just can't help feeling this whole Silva affair will blow in our face over time.

{Ed025's Note - all managerial appointments are a gamble danny as sometimes you will get lucky and sometimes not, im looking forward to silva as he plays the game with a bit of style and thats whats been lacking, lets not be so negative and lets see it as a new era and back the guy to the hilt i say mate..

20 May 2018 17:20:22
This whole Usmanov story is weird. Because reading reports. Kroenke doesn't want to buy him out and who is going to spend 700m on no say. Right now seems highly unlikely.

Believable2 3Unbelievable

20 May 2018 18:37:21
I'm pretty sure that 30% shares in Arsenal will sell a little easier than you think.
Have people lost their minds in the sun?

Agree1 1Disagree

20 May 2018 20:56:25
If you had £600m would you buy 30% shares that don't get you a seat on the board and don't get you a say in the running of the club? Kroenke doesn't need them as he already has a majority shareholding. Usmanov's best hope is that Kroenke wants to de-list the club on the Stock Exchange which would require total ownership and allow him to do what he wants with it.

Agree0 3Disagree

20 May 2018 21:10:08
Its a little more complicated than that bullens.

Agree1 0Disagree

20 May 2018 21:09:16
I'd sell em for more than that.

Agree1 0Disagree

20 May 2018 21:23:02
He doesn't have to sell them all to one person. There might be a few people willing to buy some of his shares. Fingers crossed.

Agree1 1Disagree

20 May 2018 21:59:53
Thats true Blueray but I'm sure he would want them sold in one hit.

Agree1 0Disagree

21 May 2018 11:35:39
Even a multi-billionaire wouldn’t spend that amount on shares unless he could have a say in the running of the club or could sell his holding for a profit later on.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 May 2018 11:45:21
Mowfee82 Kroenke countered the offer that Usmanov made to buy his shares in Arsenal silent Stan WILL buy them off him should he decide to sell and if I was in a position where I had £700m worth of shares in a company and no actual say in how it was run I would sell and move on to something else.

21 May 2018 12:37:40

£600 million of arsenal shares will give you a better return than investing in a bank, arsenal is all about profit.

In eds review of the day for yesterday, says Lucien Favre has left nice. I know we were linked with him before koeman came. Maybe he is on our shortlist?

{Ed025's Note - who knows geoff?, i still think it will be silva but its not set in stone mate..

Believable0 0Unbelievable

20 May 2018 10:06:40
I agree ed. Looks like Silva but few managers who have just left clubs include Favre and the Leipzig boss and fonseca name is not going away.
We may be surprised by who the new manager will be. Just got to wait and see.

{Ed025's Note - let the fun begin mate..

Agree0 0Disagree

20 May 2018 17:23:22
I think Favre is off to Dortmund.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 May 2018 18:33:27
Didn't think about that, st. So see 8f batshauyi is available or if he is off to dortmund too.

Agree0 1Disagree

20 May 2018 22:43:23
That made no sense. Should read. Wonder if batshauyi is available or off to Dortmund.

According to reports, Next move is Bill to step down and Usmanov to become our next chairman looking good.

Believable3 4Unbelievable

20 May 2018 08:18:37
Just read a report saying if he did want to sell his 30% shares in arsenal, he would have to find someone to pay 700 million with out any say in the club and not even a seat on the board, seems a lot of money for 30% so not sure how correct this is, but still a lot of money for anyone just to throw at some thing with out a say.

Agree1 0Disagree

20 May 2018 08:56:57
That would value the club at over 2 billion. Not sure that’s accurate.

Agree0 1Disagree

20 May 2018 10:24:35
He may not sell. He can transfer the shares to a family member, wife, son, which would then allow him to buy into Everton. That's if the talk isn't just media bull!

Agree1 0Disagree

20 May 2018 10:39:29
The buyer may well get a seat on the board. It’s just that kronkea doesn’t want Usmanov to have a seat. And if his shenanigans are to be believed, I can understand why. It’s not about how many shares. It’s about whether you’re welcome or not.

Agree1 0Disagree

20 May 2018 11:33:58
Kroenke tried to buy Usmanovs shares recently I think so he could just sell them to him.

Agree1 0Disagree

20 May 2018 14:43:51
But people don’t buy shares just because they want a say in something I’m sure arsenal shares will make a lot of money just doing nothing, Usmanov wants a say but others might be happy to sit back and watch there shares rise, Moshiri shares in Everton are worth a lot more now than what he paid 2 years ago.

Agree2 0Disagree

20 May 2018 14:51:22
Be interesting to see how they would both work together he doesn't get a big say at Arsenal I think if we get Usmanov it would take us to the next level financially and their business sense is second to none think we have a very bright future coming some get everything right on the pitch and happy days.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 May 2018 16:27:41
He can't just gift the shares. It would be investigated under the money laundering laws/ rules.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 May 2018 17:23:34
Suggestions from some Arsenal fans that Kroenke might buy Usmanov's shares as then he will be able to 'de-list' the club on the stock market and do whatever he wants with it.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 May 2018 11:37:52
That “de-list” story is interesting - especially if Kroenke sees it as a way to make a buck.
