Heard a whisper about a possible move for Jesé Rodriguez this morning. He's available and might be tempted to join us until the end of the season to see how things go. Would be a real coup, definitely the type of player we should be looking at if we're going to move forward.

There's a report saying his agent is in contact with a club from England who are willing to pay in full. Nothing to say it's us though. I suppose there's a 1/ 19 chance it could be us.

A week to go until the window shuts; we all thought the business would be done by then
I have a feeling that we will be doing business on the infamous last day!

I don't think it will be complacency from the Club's hierarchy but perhaps they are thinking with the consistency (albeit short up to now) , the success of our purchases and even more our development players integration into the first Team, that just perhaps we don't need to spend any more money.

Maybe it has all been done already. Everyone expected a huge influx in the summer too. Maybe Koeman sees enough to at least get 7th at the moment (which is a big improvement already) and depending on what minimum 7th offers him, uses the rest of the budget on bigger, better players in the summer. If things stay the same until the summer, I'm already more than happy as I reckon that could still offer European football next year.

I think the same all deals done we got 2 midfielders out injured and one on cup duty . Just hope we get a striker

24 Jan 2017 10:24:26
Didn't RK say he is only interested in adding quality to the squad. So if it's not available then they can't buy it. I for one am hoping that the days of panic buying are now over, and that RK sticks to his word, and if that means no more signings this window then that's fine by me.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Jan 2017 10:30:52
I think we need a second striker if Rom gets injured we are stuck with EV or AK as our recognised striker neither of which I think will get the goals we would need. I suppose at a push Lookman or Kev could be given a go.

we all know January is a tough window but our business so far has been very good, no top teams have done anything to date so that shows how hard the club have worked.
I get a feeling we may do another one on deadline day but would be surprised of anything more than that.

According to the echo say Genk winger bailey isn't in there squad for match tommorrow but a Belgium journalist has said that we have not made an offer or even an equiry yet for player hope that changes soon he looks really good

Ed002 has said there is interest in ghezzal again so can't see us going for bailey.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Jan 2017 02:14:49
Think I would rather have Bailey, Ghezzal, good as he may be, already seems to think he is bigger than the club, the new management seem (and very rightly ) hot on attitude.

Seeing reports linking us with a potential move for Heaton, any substance to this?
And if we are would we not be having a look at Begovic also if Chelsea find a replacement?

{Ed002's Note - Burnley will not be looking to sell Tom Heaton this month.}

Believable2 0Unbelievable

23 Jan 2017 17:30:55
Nothing wrong with Robles, he needs to keep him in the team, he's getting better as each game passes, he is catching the ball more, making crucial saves and the defence is certainly getting a better understanding.

For me he has wrongly been dropped twice this season and also by our previous manager, this guy deserves his chance for a run of games, let's hope Ronnie sticks by the guy and wait until summer to see how he does.

Agree6 1Disagree

23 Jan 2017 17:44:17
I think I may be a little unfair to Robles, but my opinion on him is that he's an exceptional number 2 but not quite a number 1.

Agree5 2Disagree

23 Jan 2017 17:44:58
I'd be happy with that but then I wouldn't say no to Begovic

Agree3 0Disagree

23 Jan 2017 17:14:22
Agree with Ed. With the form of Robles, is Heaton really that much better anyway. I do like Begovic.

Agree1 0Disagree

23 Jan 2017 19:17:59
We'll Robles will do for me he had a chance and he's taken it let's just hope he gets a run in the side we could do with a striker more than a keeper if Rom gets injured who's going to fill his boots

Agree6 1Disagree

23 Jan 2017 21:31:12
Robles has something ridiculous like 11 clean sheets in 22 starts I think, he deserves a chance, he's coming into his prime years as a keeper and has been understudy long enough, ad say he's on par with Heaton and better than begovic, begovic few years ago yea but he's sat on the bench for how long now doing nothing, Robles the answer for me like just my opinion but what do I no

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that johny..

Agree1 0Disagree

24 Jan 2017 02:26:06
Robles, was a good shot stopper from the get go, but the improvment in his handeling, command of his area, and his reading of the game, seem to have come on leaps and bounds with the new goalkeeping coach.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jan 2017 23:23:15
I think in the summer Heaton and Keane would be a good double purchase from Burnley.
Of course Robles might make the grade but we do need another centre back especially if we are going to play 3 at the back.

HiEd I see Jose is saying Wayne can move and its down to him to decide when and if, i really think he would be a great benefit to the club he would be massive in helping our young lads and also a considerable help in our push for a top four, i know this subject has been talked over before but what do you reckon mate thanks, GuernseyBlue

{Ed002's Note - It won't be this month GB but if Manchester United can make a change they want in the summer there will be an option for Everton to put a package together as they won't stand in his way if he wants to leave. I would ignore all thoughts about "helping young lads" as the way clubs are now structured that is not really going to be a consideration. Else perhaps the summer after. Much will depend on what other options he has.}

Believable2 4Unbelievable

23 Jan 2017 13:44:19
Ed I haven't read anything yet but has Mourinho said Rooney won't be going anywhere this month or by him saying he won't stand in his way does that mean he is free to go whenever? I do remember RK saying a little while ago that if the possibility to sign Rooney arose it would definitely be something we would be interested in. I also seen Harry Redknapp has urged Rooney to come back to Everton not that anyone cares what he says haha

Keep up the good work by the way mate, love how informative you are.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what he has said but Rooney will not be leaving without a replacement and that won't be this month.}

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jan 2017 15:22:27
He actually said he would not stand in Wayne's way for a big money move to China. He did not say he would allow him to move to the team one place below them who are showing considerable ambition and must now be considered a competitor. Perhaps he would let us buy him. but I would think there would be a considerable fee? Probably dictated by the sort of money that would be offered by the Chinese. eg I cannot see them turning down a huge fee from China to allow him to move to us for free. This is of course assuming he is under contract and the Chinese are offering a fee? Any knowledge on that Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United will let Rooney leave once they have a replacement - which might be as early as this summer. Everton will have the option to make a proposal if they wish to do so.}

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jan 2017 16:06:37
Ed when you say Everton will have the option to make a proposal do you mean in the same as any other team would or that our sale of Rooney to Utd included some kind of clause or option?

{Ed002's Note - There are no clauses or options in any contract like that?}

Come on lads the Rooney boat has sailed. Look to the future not the past. It's getting like a guy who's gorgeous girlfriend dumped him years ago but the guys getting his hopes up again because she's put on a few stone, had a few kids, and been round the block (literally) . Let it go you'll feel better, honest!

Of course Utd will let him go he's on 300k a week and has 2.5 years left on his contract 😆. Moyes tried to shaft us with Fellini and himself by letting his contract run out and then the first thing he does at Utd is give Rooney a 5 year contract worth 300 k pw 😆😆. Fair play to Rooney he has them by the short and Curley's 😆.

Ed002, I have looked through your past comments on some "continental" players. and it looks like a waiting game. Do you know of any other lower league youngsters that we are watching? eg in the same level of Lookman type. promising with great potential?

{Ed002's Note - Adam Webster but it now has to wait.}

Believable0 0Unbelievable

23 Jan 2017 13:01:40
I am guessing because of his injury. which could also put the whole thing out of the window? Shame, because he looks a promising lad from Youtube clips.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, he is injured and it could be a major spanner in the works.}

One of the papers reporting we after ivanovic as a replacement for jags. Why would we but a 32 year old to replace a 34 year old? Surely someone younger would be better?

Believable5 0Unbelievable

23 Jan 2017 08:45:21
Good player, can play right across the back, two years younger at this level is huge.

Agree1 2Disagree

23 Jan 2017 08:57:19
Know what you mean, I was against fonte coming for as large a fee as he went for at 33, but Ivanovic will probably be a nominal fee with his contract up in the summer. Might tide us over if other targets aren't available at this time.

Agree1 1Disagree

23 Jan 2017 09:13:15
What doesn't ring true for me is that Chelsea switched to the 3 at the back similar to what we are playing and Ivanovic was allegedly deemed to slow to be playing in that formation for them, so seems strange for us to be interested

23 Jan 2017 14:05:33
Can also play in front of defence, the guy is a destroyer.

Watched him play for u-16's in Milk Cup then last summer for u-21's at the Milk Cup. He reminds me of Osman (in looks and play) . Nice on the ball but no pace whatsoever. Think he was struggling to break into the u-23's so that could be the reason he left.

Unsworth said at beginning of transfer window there would be some players in the youth systems leaving as well as some incomings think the lad Holland wasnt offered a new contract because there a few other better options in his position especially a lad called Beni baningime they think this lad has a big future so keep an eye out for him in the furture

Happy Sunday blues just thought I would share a few of the rumours I've been told this weekend about potential ins and outs this week
Most of this has come from a lower league professional player and he has just told me what he has heard! Hopefully one of the eds can shed more light on some of this stuff

Ins
Ghezzel 12m bid accepted (atl Madrid and arsenal also made bids) seems depay going to Lyon makes this possible as Lyon now willing to sell ghezzel
Michael Keane I'm told a bid of 22.5m will be accepted by Burnley (provided they can sign a replacement before he leaves)
Vvd still on radar but talks of saints wanting 60m are putting the board off even though Walsh and RK both want him (maybe why Keane has been bid for first)
Rooney has apparently told people close to him That now he has done it all at united he would love to come home (most likely summer - but depending on players in at united mayne this month
Been told that Walsh has identified IKer Muniain as a top target and bids of around £35m will see the deal done as player has expressed an interest in a prem move
Also tom ince is high on RK wish list but more likely the summer

Outs
Bournemouth have asked about jags on loan Sunderland want him permanently (could reignite Kone move)
Del Boy to Milan loan is all on hold as Milan still won't pay a decent loan fee/ agree a future fee
Lennon is subject to interest for 3 championship teams

Believable1 9Unbelievable

22 Jan 2017 14:14:42
Whose iker muniain? Never heard of him, i's he any good?

Plays for Bilbao in Spain looks like a beanpole in a photo I saw of him like Crouch but he is only 5' 7" tall 😳

22 Jan 2017 12:38:40
Think we will have a go at ghezzal and Keane but there are bigger fish around so going to be a fight. Been a big fan of muniain for a while but not really heard him linked wits anyone too often. Can't see it to be honest. Ed, don't suppose you have any info?

{Ed002's Note - It is untrue.}

22 Jan 2017 14:37:33
Muniain is actually a really good player, tore Man United apart when they played Bilbao 2-3 years back.

Thank you ed. Thought that would be the case

22 Jan 2017 18:29:49

{Ed002's Note - Everton will not be paying out £150M or whatever it is on these players this month. I have explained about one of them already.}

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jan 2017 08:18:37
Must be all untrue. I mean Tom Ince? ha ha come on will you, he wouldn't get picked pudding or beef on our holler.
